Brian gets a surprise gift of Enchroma sunglasses that lets him see colors for the first time!
Yes, I understand many prefer that the kids were more quiet. But kids get very excited and obviously wanted to understand what I was seeing that was so amazing to me. Kids are curious. Of course. Too many comments on the kids. Please be kind and understanding. I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I’m so happy that everyone in my family was there for me that day.
For my Spanish friends that requested translation:
Hola.

Super rude for people to just be like “hey, these were literally given to you 30 seconds ago, let me continuously ask if i can try them even though i dont need them just for my own satisfaction.” Really people? Let the man enjoy the new world hes finally able to see. He lived his whole life in monochrome or extremely dull colors and the second hes given the gift of color sight you dont want to let him enjoy it and appreciate all the beautiful things he sees. Selfish ass human beings. Im happy this man is finally able to see color.

Exactly - not disciplining kids is how you get them to fail later in life. Kids need to be taught that they need to shut up sometimes or else it'll come back to bite them later in life when they haven't developed proper social etiquette (not learning *when* to shut the fuck up).
@stewrmo
@stewrmo 3 года назад
Amen! Not gonna lie, when I see lots of kids on these videos I think "ahh hell". I know they don't understand what's going on, and having your kids next to you for important events must be beautiful, but they are more excited by the balloons lol. If it was me I know I would want to do this myself, giving me time to get used to them. Then again, I am a grumpy, anti-social bugger. So I'll say to the family, I love these videos, congratulations on them working, you have a beautiful family. Love from Scotland.

He's seeing the vivid color that we all take for granted, for the first time. As he said, red looked like a muddy brown before, and people looked colorless, since he couldn't see the red undertones to skin. Others who've tried them marvel at how much more detailed everything looks, since they're seeing shades of color for the first time. I can't imagine living in a sketch of life. I would be absolutely LOST without the ability to differentiate among colors and to appreciate their slightest differences ... Have you ever tasted food while suffering from a head cold? Tastes dull, muted. Now imagine that, but with sight. When people are born with no issues, they have years to take in the wonder, the glory, so it's not overwhelming. To get it all at once bowls people over.
@bpark10001
@bpark10001 3 месяца назад
The reason is that they don't see the color right away. The brain's color processing is dormant due to weak stimulus. For some, it requires a month for the color to "come in". Those people usually don't have emotional reaction as it comes on so slowly. For those with less severe forms, the color can come "crashing in" quickly!

@Alwis-Haph-Rytte 5 лет назад
Subfocus, nobody is stopping you from spending your own money to provide these aids. As for tax dollars, NO. Yes it's a physical condition, just like being born naked. But we are required by law to were clothes. Shall we have taxes pay for clothes? Add up how much it costs you for clothing and shoes, double it to cover the cost of red tape and tack that on your taxes. You wont be able to deduct work clothing because the government should provide clothing to cover our physical condition of being naked. Right? Let's triple taxes and raise the minimum wage to $50.00 an hour. Now businesses have to quadruple the price of products. The more you want the government to spend, it almost doubles the cost imposed on us. These glasses are more of an insurance issue than tax issue, they are cosmetic like hair plugs for naked head people.
