There's a special place in hell for people that steal guitars. During covid, I was about to move into an apartment and 2 weeks before the place caught fire. Not only did many people lose their instruments, among other possessions, but I also heard that someone in the process of the place being evacuated stole a bunch of guitars. Made me sick

Brian I have had probably 12 instruments stolen and lost in different instances and several returned with help of detectives and the internet community more recently. The most amazing story of all is that my 90's Gibson banjo has been stolen twice and found and returned to me. I'm so glad because my dad got it for me new when I was 12.
im so sorry for your loss. I know how that can feel. I never stopped beating the bushes and posting ads and such the second time it happened and a stranger saw my banjo in a pawn shop and since I had a police report, they let me have it for pawn fees. I was so happy to go get my baby back that day. @@drewharrison6433

This is a rare but very Awesome Guitar finding its way Back to the Original Owners So they Can Make the Most Awesome Songs and Riffs that Soooooo Many of Us love and Enjoy hearing this Music and the Songs they make for us and they still make us feel like we did that very first time we heard it and how it made us feel then & still capable of making us feel that Same feeling inside when we hear these Tunes Even Now,,, I actually appreciate this Music More so now than teenager Days driving street Rods and hearing it come from our systems in our cars cruising around town with the windows Down and the Tunes Up loud,,,, Glad i lived Them years growing up and becoming A teenager and getting drivers license and freedom of the 😅Roads and listening to the music of 60s 70s & 80s best of times the world was better and things were about as good as they could be back then,,,, I have the best memories and some of the best of friends that from back then the ones that are still with us from them days and even one of my Favorite cars from that Era ,,,, Music was definitely front & Center back then we parked in certain places in our neighborhood listening to our favorite Rock and awesome bands of the day coming from our Cars & hanging out on the street corner having a couple beers and not causing anyone any trouble or problems & it was priceless back then but especially now looking back,,, its sad to me that these youg people today unfortunately will never live them experiences and have that kind of neighborhood friendship and Connections & true friends that always Stuck together and had each other’s Back’s and Soooooo much more 😎👍
I had the same thing happened to me 2 years ago. Had all my guitars stolen out of my storage unit. Be happy you got yours back I still feel like all my kids are stolen. Sucks...
Man, life stories always mellow and temper a good guitar into finding their own, true inner voices. I've always sworn this. Going through shit, addictions, selling and pawning axes... When you get em back man... They always just get sweeter for having suffered all the pains. It's a fucking fact
I had a party at my place I got way to fuckup and my Fender Deadknock was mia along with some of my tools, good news I found them at a local pawn shop,so called friends 😊
I have a 1966 fender jazz bass deluxe brand new and had it for many years. And worse than having it stolen, I sold it. One of the big regrets of my life. I paid around $380 for it and now I see the same Bass listed for sale at $14,000. We all make bad choices.😢
My pal Steve lived near a kid who formed the Cryan Shames band. Steve would jamb with everyone and was pretty good himself. His dad bought him a REALLY good guitar. It cost a grand in 1967. So the Shames were about to go on their first tour and Steve’s buddy asked if he could borrow the expensive new guitar and Steve said yes. Months later when he got it back he found a huge hole in the back where his huge belt buckle wore right through the wood.
Somebody took my brother's guitar the other day. Ugggh. It could be a franken-strat or really nice- it doesn't matter. The sentimental or personal value is where it hits.
My brother had his bass stolen at DFW Airport. Months later a Dallas pawn shop guy saw a paragraph in Bass Player magazine about it and thought he had it. Indeed he did. My brother had to come from Austin, pay for his own property to get it back and then have all the damage done to it restored.
I understand this.... Have had several guitars stolen. Monty Taylor stole my red Jackson/Charvel electric guitar here in Lawton, Oklahoma. LPD was told about it... I will leave it at that. Never got the guitar back.
I knew this guy who stole a guitar from back seat of a car we were parked next to and then he takes off,with me still in the car.I was mortified ,I had no idea this guy was a criminal until he did that. Last time i heard he was in prison for a long stretch, thank God because he shouldn't be on the streets. I later found out that guitar was from a semi-famous player who I contacted him and tell him what I knew , never found it as far as i know. This was in the early 90's.
I had been having a weekly jam session with this guy for a couple of months back in 2002, to the point where I got comfortable leaving my gear over at his house. I went over there one Saturday, and his roommate informed me that he had abruptly moved out and taken my guitar and amp with him. I found out years later that dude got fired from his job and sold my guitar and amp so he could buy his way out of the lease. I haven't seen him in 22 years, but if I ever get my hands on him he's either coughing up a lung or a couple of grand.
Our local Metallica Tribute band was playing in Portland, Or. Their whole trailer and gear was jacked at the hotel overnight. Metallica heard about this, and their manager called them. That really suckes, i just found out that this guy i know for 25 years stole RANDY ROADS EQUIPMENT. Yes, nick brandsrud told me this many years after he and his brother riped him RANDY off. All of my friends and i were on the hunt when it happened , we knew randy. But he got his gear back the day before his debut with Ozzy. I so hate this type of trash. Ok, peace.
He just abuses them when they do show. I was there in 98 in Dayton Ohio when you were opening for Dylan, threw a hissy, and slammed it face down on the stage. Your roadie wouldn't let me have it tho
