SAN FRANCISCO - Brian Wilson couldn't sleep a wink Monday night.
"Major jitters," Brian Wilson said. "Yeah, of course! I have to throw out the first pitch and I got two days warning. Like, what?! Ok, yeah I want to do it. But I don't know."
Tuesday Wilson returned to AT&T Park where he threw out the ceremonial first pitch for the San Francisco Giants home opener against the Seattle Mariners. Wilson entered the field as he did so many times for the Giants: House of Pain blaring on the speakers and a big 38 on his back.
When Brian Wilson was asked about why he wore a uniform, he gave a straightforward answer.
"Because I wanted to wear a uniform again," Wilson said. "And why not the last uniform I put on be a 38 Giants." Wilson went on to say that the uniform he wore on Tuesday was the real deal, down to his infamous cleats.
"This was my uniform. I had it. Especially the cleats that I got fined for. Those were on. Yep. They were on. I had it all except the belt."
