Happy music. Nobody is being degraded in the lyrics, and the performers aren't degrading themselves on stage. So much has changed since this type of music.
I love Brick -- I'm not sure why they didn't enjoy bigger success because they certainly deserved it. And this was the finest time for Soul Train, when funk, soul and disco collided. I want more of these clips.
My eyes must be playing tricks on me, because I am seeing real muscians on the screen, I mean I am actually seeing a real band on the screen! Wonderful, and this song is wonderful as well. It reminds me of the family reunion I had this summer, and it reminds me of when I was a little kid dancing in the middle of the living room in the middle of one of my mom and dad's house partys, knowing I was supposed to have my bad butt in the bed, lol! This music is just what you call timeless! I love it!
This is the kind of music this wicked and lost generation needs. Funky disco music brings joy and happiness not hate and betreyal only peace and content.👍
I saw Lakeside, Brick, Confunksun, Slave and others in Houston at the Sam Houston Race Park, on Sept. 24, and I mean to tell ya, these brothers, ESPECIALLY Lakeside and Brick can still throw down. Long live funk!
46 years ago…WOW! 2024 and this joint is still hot🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Talented musicians who actually played instruments! No drugs, no guns, no misogyny, just good music. Hallmark of a true classic.
i was my kids grew up the way i did ,, mom and pop played real shit like this in out home ,, washing the car on saturday morning ,,, damn man miss them days
Wow! I just love that they play instruments! I wish there could be R&B bands of today who play instruments AND sing. That's what's magical plus REAL R&B. Real soul.
The way the old school black artist played music with rhythm and not some big bang fire ball tells me a lot about all Africans we sing with heart soul and feeling new school na never 85 on back old school any time
refreshing to hear about not hurting ppl instead of drive bys and other nonsense... this is what music is about have fun and not be negative! who else would vote instead of releasing new crap just periodicly play the old stuff, breing it back...
I was 17 in 1978 & i remember this was played at EVERY party I went to ....i remember everybody used to do the WORM (not that dumb ish yuppy children did on their bellies in the 80s)...I'm talkin' bout THE WORM...i know you old dogs out there remember ...lean back as far as you can & give that torso motion only a female worm can understand...
OH MY FREAKIN GOSH! im 13 and just love this song! keep old school alive...PLEZ!! music like this makes a youngin like me wish i was born back then! :( I LOVE OLD SCHOOL....with a great passion! :)
This was way back when Soul Train, was good to watch on early Saturday morning's. BRICK was Jammin'!!!.........R.I.P......Mr. Don Cornelius and thank you, my childhood couldn't have been better without it.
you are so right about what you are saying, what happened to it. because the artist of today are not real musicians. they are here today and gone tomorrow. i'm tired of this sample of music. because its not theirs original sound. they copy from an album that had already been made. then they call themselves a producer sampling old school artists materials. we need more old school music playing on the radio because that was real music back in the day.
If Brick ever comes to Nashville, TN, I would pay to see them live! I can't enough of their music, and it's been that way for me since I was a kid in Elementary School, when I first heard them on the radio. I am getting near 50 years old now, but I still love the horns, keyboard, guitar and drums in Brick's Rock-n-Soul Music!
@dromanvibes48 You are so right, there is no originality today with these artist, most are here today and gone tommrow. I am so glad that there are still a few people who play actual music around. I wish there were more, I love looking at live shows with real bands playing real music and not a bunch of noise.
@shockg021 Thanks a lot for this!!!! The trombonist Jimmy Brown is a fantastic musician and songwriter/arranger. Brown plays not only the trombone, but also the saxophone, trumpet, flugelhorn, and flute. His baritone voice drips soul and moves your spirit to the heavens.
This brought back memories when I first got this on cassette tape I played it over and over. My mother ,on day snuck into my bedroom when I was in school hid the cassette under my mattress my girlfriend then found it about a year later,40years later still listening to Brick. my wife now 43 years later and going strong still enjoys them also
This was back in the day when house parties were the thing. Everybody was partying, rappin, and having a good ol time. Soul Train was the number one Black show. It was definetely the good ol days!
how could anyone fight on this page? just lay back and listen to the dazz! i'm 19 and love funk and rap and bebop and a lot more stuff, but it doesn't matter right now because i'm just here to take a shower in this jam.
thebcancey, you are correct about the date. It was so dang hot I forgot the date! I am a bass player, and since that day, I have been up at nite, re-learning 25-30 year old songs. Good music is, and will always be good music. It's timeless.
