You forgot the earliest point in the Lego timeline, Bionicle. It takes place “in the time before time.” so therefore, it exists in the universe that existed before the big bang.

Interesting! I had to limit the timeline to only the minifigure based themes to keep the video at a reasonable length; I'd never forget Bionicle. :)

It could also be possible it takes place in the same universe as all the other themes, just incredibly early on. The whole “time before time” thing might be metaphorical or made up by Vakama as he tells the legend.

A few timeline updates since this video was made: -The Secret Life of LEGO Bricks book provided some additional insight into the placement of some of these themes: --The World City subtheme was conceived of as a look ahead ten years or more into the future as of its release, so its setting is probably 2013-2014 or later. This has a knock-on effect that pushes several spy-related themes into the near future of when they were originally released. This is probably for the best given that Ultra Agents is set in the future anyway. The November-December 2004 LEGO Magazine crossover comic placed Alpha Team: Mission Deep Freeze during the same time period as World City. The Spy minifigure biography indicated that the Agents theme took place after Mission Deep Freeze, so that theme would be moved forward as well. I don't think this necessitates moving the other Alpha Team themes forward in time, but it's an option. --The inspiration for the space factions from 1987 forward was that they were the natural outgrowth of the civilization established by the Classic Space exploration missions. Not inconsistent with this timeline, but a very interesting story point. -The implied encounter between the new redesigned Galaxy Explorer and Blacktron Cruiser sets suggests that the original Blacktron faction is older than its Futuron counterpart. -As @J4R0D suggests, given the lack of time travel between the Insectoids and Aquazone storylines in the Klick Magazine Time Cruiser comics, the 1998 Hydronauts and Stingray themes probably takes place later (~4060s on this timeline) than the original 1996-1997 Aquazone themes (~4000s). -The LEGOLAND Windsor attraction Pirate Falls Treasure Quest gives the Pirates theme yet another date: 1697. (One of the character names, Blackheart, matches that of pirate cousins active 50-60 years before the Pirates: The Golden Medallion comic, so this may not be an issue.) -I'm a little more on the fence about whether or not the 2015 Pirates theme is actually a prequel to the 1989 theme after the new edition of the LEGO Book indicated one of the characters may not be the same, and a transitionary Redbeard with the 2015 head and 2020 body appeared in LEGO Stores. Still prefer that interpretation, but it's less likely than when I started the channel. -2025 consistently appeared after all of the UK set names for Time Cruisers, so this may be an alternate date for that theme. Still looking for hard evidence that this was the intent. -Robots with the same design as the Time Cruisers robot appeared in the City of Lanterns Monkee Kid set, so if that theme does indeed take place in the main LEGO world, it's probably around the same time as Time Cruisers. Possibly a few decades before, since the robot was said to be Dr. Cyber's earliest inventions.

For fun, let’s say Bionicle takes place before every other Lego theme in a unknown galaxy, due to the whole “time before time” thing and it being stated that Mata Nui scoured the universe during his travels before returning to Bara Magna.

As a kid in the 90s, I remember thinking that perhaps there could be a big common universe where certain themes. I sort of had my own idea for a timeline and I really like how you made it into a grand timeline. I had the mentality that Magic existed in the Lego Universe and that Magic came from special objects that allowed people do certain things (such as conjure and control a dragon) It was discovered by Majisto who created a clan of mostly Dungeon Masters. In the castle timeline, more people keep messing around with magic, mainly the Fright Knights and this creates a societal collapse. When we played as kids, we also assumed that the castle era came after some sort of collapse. Magic was not rediscovered until the space era, however they had a more scientific approach and were using it to power their ships and bases. The Aquazone predated the Classic space and were looking for magical crystals at the bottom of the Ocean. A lot of the themes you mentioned all came after my time, but they sort of involve crystals being powerful and groups fighting over them. The Monster Fighters and Atlantis (which sort of goes with my idea of an ancient world before castle that collapsed)

Amazing work! Form Castle to City to Space with several themes in between. I never thought of Chief being a Power Miner or the Arctic asteroids being from Krysto, but it makes sense! I'm a little dissapointed you didn't mention the Time Cruisers comic that had Aquazone on the same planet as Insectoids though. The Space connection is there!
@loreescape47
@loreescape47 Год назад
Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed this video, it's something I've been wanting to do for awhile. I should have given more thought to the Insectoid-Aquazone connection in terms of the time period, particularly in placing the Hydronauts v. Stingrays conflict, which has no direct overlap with the Aquanauts/Sharks/Raiders storyline save for some strong indications that the Aquanauts and Hydronauts are the same faction. I was a little hesitant to make the leap that the entire Aquazone setting takes place on Holox/Armeron (though Insectoid Invasion also had some Aquazone sets), since that Klick magazine comic featured some dimension hopping and there is some other lore tying Aquazone to Atlantis on Earth. The whole run wasn't available online when I started making this video as well so I didn't want to jump to conclusions. (All of the comics are now archived online at Emily's Time Cruiser page, so this will be less of a concern going forward. :) ) I do want to do a deep dive on Aquazone lore at some point, not to mention Adventurers, Time Cruisers, and the Zotaxians (UFO and Insectoids), so we'll definitely be referring back to the Klick comics a lot!

Great Video & im sad it took me so long to find this. Gonna add some corrections/info. The Clutch in the Movie & in the Ninjago series are different characters (this was confirmed by Ninjago co-creator Tommy Andreasen), so it would be wise to think of Ninjago as its own thing, kinda like Bionicle, that this video sadly does not talk about, but i get why. My headcanon is that Bionicle takes place on a distant planet, the main timeline have not found/encountered yet. I would place the Clutch Power movie in the "Brickster Universe", because the Bricksters appearance in LEGO City A Clutch Powers 4-D Adventure. This universe clearly operates on different rules from the videos main timeline, since Castle (07) is shown to happen on a different planet & the Island game trilogy shows different themes having their own Islands for example Knights' Kingdom 1. This clearly is an different universe. The characters from Island do still exist in the main universe, in their forms from the Island Xtreme Stunts theme. Exo-Force lacks any info, sadly, so my headcanon is that it takes place in the Ninjago world, based on the small references. 1 thing to mention is that in Hero Factory, Earth is mentioned to exists in the Hero Factory FM Radio & the heroes are send to help there. My guess is that Hero Factory takes place sometime in the space era (2079 - post 4060s).
@renexuz1

also Ogel is the name of an astronaunt in the 2019 City set 60227: Lunar Space Station. This could imply that either Alpha team is set further into the timeline or that after being stopped in Mission Deep Freeze, he reformed & used his rocket ship building skills help the lego space program. My headcanon is that he reformed after his failed attempt to take over the world with Dr. Inferno and Dr. D. Zaster. Its also possible that he was originally good, but was kidnapped & turned evil by the UFO faction, then he is sent back in time for the events of Alpha Team (this would explain why he has UFO body armor), though this timetravel idea has no proof.

@@renexuz1 Fascinating stuff! I need to look into this further. I used to think of LEGO Island as strictly its own separate world too, but some of the backstory that's since come out leads me to believe it can be reconciled...I'll make a video about this theory too at some pont. :D

It could be possible that the Clutch powers movie was more of an oversold autobiography, based both on the other themes that would have taken place either long before Ninjago or possibly too far for someone "normal" like clutch to realistically visit, but also more importantly the "I work alone" line appears in the Ninjago 10th anniversary short where Zane and Jay fight Reflectra with Clutch Powers' dance routine. Furthermore, based on easter eggs in system sets it's possible that Hero Factory, Bionicle G2 and G1 bionicle's 100,000+ year timeline take place parallel to the Minifugre timeline, with Ninjago city sets having several maps of locations like Okoto, Mata Nui, and Rapa Nui, as well as an advertisement for the Mask of Ultimate Power, and Monkie Kid having signs with both a Hero Factory emblem and a Bohrok emblem, of all things. Not to mention the City Passenger plane set traveling to Voya Nui, of all places. I understand completely why Bionicle wasn't included, as that and the other original non-minifigure themes would have crowded and convoluted the video well beyond the point of reasonability, but to keep my thoughts short i can see Bionicle G1, G2 and Hero factory fitting into the timeline as follows: Bionicle G1: ~95,000+ years in the past (from the start of the video) to ~4,000 CE. This placement, along with Mata Nui's mission and the purpose of the bohrok, allows both the consistency of a Bohrok enblem fitting into the City of Lanterns MK set and the appearance of maps of Mata and Voya nui much later on in Ninjago City, as there is only a 1,000 year window in bionicle's timeline for explorers to go and discover Voya Nui, and to keep it short bionicle fans will know why. Other locations like mata nui and okoto could be discovered at any point, due to how Mata Nui performed his mission, to keep it neat and tidy i think G1 took place and ended before Ninjago's 2011 wave, on a different planet, G2 took place a long time afterwards, and Hero factory takes place somewhere between 2030 and ~3000, as their whole point is to go across the galaxy and stop villains, but they don't ever come across anything space police related. Long-winded speculation aside, great video! It's the kind of thing i can definitely see myself coming back to again and again.

@@loreescape47 Also worth noting that Christian Faber's intent with Akiyama Makuro (the founder of the Hero Factory) is that he was an inhabitant of the Bionicle world who used a portal to travel far away (and possibly to a different time). This is mentioned in Faber's videos on his concepts for Bionicle Gen 2. The exact way in which Bionicle G2 connects to G1 is... complicated. G2 is implicitly connected to G1 by the Vahi (Mask of Time), which appears as an important plot device. G2's lore implies that the original G1 Vahi (crafted by Vakama) is only half of a far more powerful mask, with the upper half being created (or at least ending up) on Okoto. Faber's original concepts for G2 would have had the story be the result of someone using the (complete?) Mask of Time to try and rewrite history. No clue if that made it into the final G2 lore; Ninjago's easter eggs at least imply that, in at least one timeline, both Mata Nui (the island) and Okoto existed.

Great video, a lot of research is on display here. I also played the dangerous game of research for making a LEGO timeline, but I took a different approach where it was much less based on the stated year, more lenient with lifespans, and used the planet < realm < universe hierarchy implied consistently between LEGO Universe, Galidor, and Ninjago. It had a broader scope and included all non-licensed LEGO themes. In the Timebuster/Time Cruisers comics from 1995-2001, Tim ends up in the Wild West theme after jumping through time and then is rescued by Extreme Team without time-jumping again. Extreme Team connects Tim to Dr. Kilroy from Adventurers, who is stated to be Professor Cyber's brother. Still without time-jumping, they travel through a portal to Planet Holox (Insectoids, Hydronauts, Aquasharks, Stingrays). Tim is Cyber's grandson (ignoring the word of an author who said he's his nephew), and Johnny Thunder is Kilroy's nephew, possibly making Tim Johnny Thunder's son who his dad Cyber adopted. Anyways, all of this would place Wild West around the same time as Extreme Team and Res-Q. Adventurers is concurrent with LEGO Island Xtreme Stunts because of LEGO Island Comic Adventures: The Crystal Brick. A consistent timeline can be made using this information, but it helps to say that Timebusters is from another planet with advanced technology, and Minifigures can live as long as they want as long as their Creative Spark (Clutch Powers, LEGO Universe) persists and is strong enough. Also worth noting that Castle themes take place on a small grassy region of the volcanic planet Vulcox, a planet stated to exist in the same universe as Earth (on the other side of a portal from UFO, as said in numerous places like set boxes and the later 1995-6 Timebuster comics). But Castle (2007) takes place on Ashlar (Clutch Powers), and Knights' Kingdom 2 takes place on Earth due to Ogel's relation to Vladek. When making my timeline, I realized that LEGO Universe and Ninjago's creation stories can be neatly merged, as well as BIONICLE's lore. And I also decided that all instances of technological time travel didn't actually change the past, they only created a pocket dimension where an older time is perfectly reconstructed. This explains LEGO Racers and LEGO Soccer Mania (in fact this explanation is basically given in the plot of the latter). The only non-technological uses of time travel I'm aware of are in Ninjago and are pretty self-contained.
@loreescape47
@loreescape47 11 месяцев назад
Love this! The date-timeline approach here is of course just one approach possible in the multiverse; it's all about what appeals to us most personally. :) I'm a big fan of the Timebuster comics; those will inform several of the upcoming videos. I do want to clarify a few points; I think the translations of the Extreme Team comic's dialogue ultimately confirmed that the Extreme Team and their RES-Q counterparts actually did travel back in time, thanks to Dr. Cyber modifying their various vehicles. (I believe you'll find this on Page 70 of Emily's site.) When Tim steps through the portal into Armeron, he goes into a "future dimension" (Page 77 on Emily's site), so there is some time travel implied there as well. I'd love to hear more about the creation stories for LEGO Universe, Ninjago, and Bionicle and how they point to a common origin for the LEGO multiverse. I think LEGO Dimensions also had some lore about this early era; it's been awhile since I played it.

Thank you for watching! Dinosaurs was actually in the edit for awhile, but I ended up deciding to only include themes that had the traditional minifigure in them (with two exceptions that ended up being more confusing than they were worth; I wouldn't include Jack Stone or the +4 Pirates if I had it to do over again.) We see the dinos from that theme interact with system sets in the early 2000s LEGO comics, so they do *exist* in the minifigure world, but I had to draw the line somewhere or the video would have been even longer. I'd originally wanted to include the collectable minifigures, one-off historical sets, etc, but it was all a bit much for one video. What's been left out isn't a reflection of the quality of the theme/sets or whether or not they exist in the minifigure lore, just trying to keep the video within a manageable scope. :)

Bionicle is arguably the oldest Lego theme on the timeline, due to appearing in multiple different eras, both contemporary (Hidden Sides school bus reference to the cancelled 2001 Bionicle game) and far future (Classic Space ship showing astronauts discovering a 2001 Toa canister). However, Bionicle timeline is known to span over 100,000 years. The Great Spirit Robot is known to have observed Earth when it was in its tribal age (referenced in the slideshow image of his backstory released in 2010). Hero Factory is also connected, occurring after the events of Bionicle, likely occurring in near future Earth as HF heroes are seen interacting with modern human kids. It is likely the Toa canister discovered by classic space is an ancient artifact stranded on some alien world for thousands of years.

Ninjago, at least from the start, is probably alternative timeline of city(or they are in same universe, just ninjago is happening in geographically other place), because: Jay was living in something that looks like City before 2012(or probably Town at this moment?) (pilot season) Skeletons actually have a lot of mining machines(that was used against rock monsters from Power Miners) and old 1930's cars in lego battles ninjago game (pilot season) And in set 70591 (season 6) there is prison guard that is actually policeman from 2006-2012 City And if we accept that, then it make sense that Rebooted theme (season 3) from ninjago is happening as alternative timeline of theme World City, which is looks gritty and dark, just like rebooted ninjago

I think it's safer to say that og Clutch and the themes he interacts with are in a seperate universe. If you wanna go real wacky though, you could theorize that og Clutch's universe is a result of a "convergence" where the Time Twisters meddled with too much or some sort of space-time disaster happened when the Time Cruisers tried to stop them!

I’m surprised Bionicle isn’t mentioned in the timeline since one of the most recent Lego Space sets shows the Lego space people studying a Toa canister.

I do mention this in the Blacktron video, but I didn't have that information when I was creating the theme timeline. (There are some points here that are out of date, as will happen with a video like this unfortunately.) I did rule out including Bionicle early on by just sticking to minifigure based themes; the earlier version of the video tried to cover too much and I'd probably still be rendering if I hadn't narrowed the scope, lol.

That's a thorough list 👍, but you forgot about some themes, hope this helps when you do an updated timeline in a couple of years. 1.bionicle Going from lego studio, there was the online game Backlot 2001 were one could meet George the actor of Takua one of bionicle's most famous characters. Thus bionicle is a Franchise in the Lego universe beginning 2001 CE. Further arguments would be the animation of bionicle Lewa visiting a regular cinema full of minifigures in 2008 with his corresponding appearance. Bionicle makes several small cameos in Lego city like its Logo appearing on a stuntz biker even existing as games like in the Hidden Side Interceptor Bus or in Friends in Nova's room and most importantly a minifigure consuming bionicle merchandise in the ninjago set Ninjago Markets. So if Ninjago happens in the 4060s and bionicle begins 2001 CE. wouldn't that mean you ironically dethroned ninjago as the longest continous lasting theme after it beat bionicle irl? If we're going by bionicle's in-universe/ lore timeline, than due to a cameo in DC comic spectre 2001 no. 10 the main plot would be set from 2001-2003 disregarding the 100000s years of backstory. 2. Unikitty since it's a TV-show according to its intro with the lego city minifigures; just another franchise, I think it's once again safe to say it corresponds with our timeline. 3.Galidor While the TV show is set in 2002, because of the ninjago character Rufus McCallister owning a Galidor pullover; meaning it's a franchise in the Lego universe it can be placed in the 4060s. 4.Hero Factory Due to the original ads of a hero Hotline and Lego Club Max visiting the factory, but bionicle solar system being an easter egg probably another in-universe franchise of Lego city. Now the outlyers: 5. Friends I'm not quite sure since they recently had a time skip to introduce the new generation and I'm not aware of any cross-overs, but probably similar to Lego city. 6.Technic Cyber Due to the cyborg/ robot aesthetic I would place it somewhere in Spyrius, Q-Tron era. 7. Junkbot While originally just being two online games he did appear in the attic of Lego Adventurers Sam Sinister's Free Fall Tower/ Mansion.. So 1930s? 8. Throwbots/ Slizers? Your guess is as good as mine 9.Belville I just dunno, probably an alternate timeline, adjacent to the other 1970s figurines 10. Octan More like an honorary mention, after all it replaced Shell, is represented in several race cars, ( was the evil Corp in the seperate lego movie timeline, and with unikitty being a in-universe franchise implies the movie exist as a movie in lego timeline,) and continues to cameo in different themes outside of city like space police even fueling the latest Star Wars UCS AT-AT. If you got through the list you earned my respect and definitely deserve more subscribers ❤

@@toafellha8130 Thank you for the list, and for watching! This video was originally supposed to be the one that launched the channel, but it got so long and complicated that I had to strictly limit it to LEGO original themes featuring minifigures only in order to finish it, even though as you say, there are some compelling cases for non-minifigure theme crossovers. :) This also ruled out Mindstorms, unfortunately, which has some really interesting near-future history bits of lore complete with dates. (The Pirates 4+ and Jack Stone themes were exceptions to the rule here since their connection to the minifigure world is a little more overt, both in the style of the characters and the in-theme references.) I wasn't familiar with the Spectre reference, thank you for mentioning that! It sent me down an interesting rabbit hole; apparently there's a Bionicle reference in Green Lantern too? This needs more investigation! Octan is definitely on my list of video topics, as a megacorporation with several famous family members it will fit right into the documentary style I've been going for. It's a ways down the road, but watch this space! Bionicle and Friends are such huge worlds with so many beloved characters that they're frankly intimidating to tackle. :) But there is a Bionicle shoutout in our Blacktron video and a Friends reference I don't think anyone's caught in every Redbeard chapter.

@@loreescape47 I'm glad that you liked the list - the dinosaurs 2002 is another one for the list. Your Blacktron video is excellent, and a nice cover of Paint it Black if I may say so. Though I'm usually more of a casual pirates fan, your intrinsic biography of Redbeard were my first videos I saw of you. Besides the DC bionicle cameo, bionicle 2008 did also cameo in one of marvel Thor runs, but it wouldn't have really helped to fit in the lego timeline so I left it out. Well I be looking forward to your Octan take - an adventurers lore dive would also be thrilling ;) . Your channel has become one of my favorites, sort of like "the imaginary axis" but for lego instead of comics, with the amounts of double checks I had to for my list I don't even want to imagine how long it took for you to structure all the themes from nothing. ( Mindstorm did technically appear in the Clutch Powers movie, I think in the entrance area of their giant HQ. And both bionicle (2005-2007) and hero factory 2014 offered sets in figures in minifigure scale so maybe there is a way).

31:48 the Rock Raiders monsters do appear on earth in Lego Island 2 and there's a similar-looking ice monster in Lego Racers 2. The Rock Raiders' FTL travel I think would put them further into the future than that, past early classic space at least, though the sets themselves don't have much to indicate advanced technology besides the hovering vehicles. I guess they're sorta awkward to place since LRR was designed as an underground theme first and is more just a space theme on the side
@loreescape47
@loreescape47 8 месяцев назад
That's certainly fair--TBH Rock Raiders is one of those themes that had very little indication about when it could be placed, so I was grasping at straws here. I'd seized upon the line in the manual about Chief's encounter with Rock Monsters in his youth to tie it back to Power Miners; I didn't think about the LEGO Island and Racers references. Plus, having re-read the line, it seems more like the Chief's encounter was during his time on the Explorer since it was documented in the ship's computer, so that makes the connection even less likely. We do have some indications of pretty early FTL travel from Galaxy Squad, so that's not entirely an issue. That's a whole other video though...

The german audioplay of Adventurers is very good by the way. I listened to it up and down back when I was a kid. The german Voice of Johnny Thunder ( who is called Joe Freeman in this Audioplay and in a lot of german Promo material of the time, wich is a far cooler name) is voiced by the german voice of Batman from batman the animated series. This was just so great as a kid. Still my favorite Lego character because of that audioplay and the sets of course.

That is so cool, and what a great connection between heroes! (How great would it have been if he was the voice of LEGO Batman too! ;) ) As a LEGO Lore enthusiast I've been studying the audio dramas for a long time, but I haven't actually heard from a lot of folks who sat down and listened to the audios as kids. I'd be really interested in hearing more about it and how they fit into the overall audio play landscape in that time and place. If you ever have any free time, I'd love some assistance in translating German audio material. A lot of the LEGO stuff has been translated already, but there are still several Western, Town, and City audio plays that haven't been touched yet, in addition to non-LEGO stuff. (At times it seems like everything I've been interested in has some exclusive German audio content!)

Ninjago is seen as a fictional TV show in this universe, similar to the Chima/City situation. There's also an offhand reference to Galaxy Squad that may indicate that it too is fictional here, but I'm inclined to explain some of these fictional references away by other means...

This video is fire. I definitely disagree with the placement of mars mission which makes sense to me as taking place after life on mars sometime in the late 21st early 22nd century before the establishment of interstellar travel. From the Mars Mission material I remember the Phobians had space travel capabilities superior to humans of the time so I'd assume the humans would not have interstellar or intergalactic capabilities yet.
@StuartJuggernaut
@StuartJuggernaut 6 месяцев назад
I do think space police 3 makes sense as happening around the same time. I headcanon some of the Crystalien Conflict veterans later joining space police based on the same minifig heads. The lego battles blacktron uniform is hard to reconcile, but I imagine classic space themes being much further off into the future. Maybe there is some alternate way to explain it but I don't know as much about blacktron lore
@StuartJuggernaut
@StuartJuggernaut 6 месяцев назад
In this timeline I think I would place Mars Mission after Space Police 1 and before classic space. Since the central plot of Mars Mission and Rock Raiders has to do with emergy crystals, perhaps Earth is undergoing its energy crisis around this darker time, and classic space happens after it is resolved since the classic space future is more peaceful and optimistic than in mars mission.
@loreescape47
@loreescape47 6 месяцев назад
Believe me, I'm also not super excited about the Mars Mission placement; the early placement you describe makes more sense and was certainly what I'd assumed. But LEGO Battles was the only official source to weigh in on it, so that was the source I went with. Space Police 3 was always presented as a sequel to the first two Space Police themes, so that'll almost always push anything associated with it into the far future.

I was originally going to include the CMF minifigures as individual "stops" on the timeline, but the video got so long I had to dial it back to just covering the minifigure themes and subthemes. I'd like to follow up with a CMF specific video at some point. You'll note that only the original yellow Castle sets predate Vikings on this timeline; this was due to a Swedish advertisement linking them to the time of King Arthur and Prince Valiant. Both the early Castle and Viking dates are a guesstimate based on limited information, so it's entirely possible to place them later. In this version of the timeline, only the pre-1983 Castle sets are in that legendary period before the 11th century.

Though there is that Galaxy Explorer sticker hmm... I don't see it as a confirmation it happened then however. If I'm going to add other themes onto this timeline I would say Galidor takes place in 2002. Fabuland in a different timeline around the 80s or is on a different planet with 80s like technology. Hero Factory would take place in the space era. Bionicle G2 is an alternate timeline.
@loreescape47
@loreescape47 Год назад
I appreciate you watching! Including Jack Stone at all was a bit of a slippery slope exception; and I think it ended up causing unnecessary confusion. Definitely didn't mean to annoy any Bionicle fans; not only is it the most lore-rich of original LEGO product lines, it's arguably one of, if not the most iconic and original LEGO stories out there. The reason you probably won't see much Bionicle content on here for awhile is because I haven't yet been fully immersed in the lore--I'd want to do justice to it and also find an original take on it. (To a much lesser extent, the same goes for Hero Factory, Galidor, and Fabuland.) Bionicle was just kicking into high gear as I entered my Dark Ages, but I was there for the first 2-3 waves and it made a big impression on me. (Especially the online game--a masterpiece of storytelling there!) As you may have seen in the Blacktron video I fully take the Galaxy Explorer sticker at face value, though I agree it probably doesn't indicate that Bionicle needs to happen at the same time as Classic Space. (I like to think the canister ended up there as a result of all the stuff being dumped throughout the multiverse in LEGO Dimensions. ;) )

Fabuland might be even older than the 80's. The design of cars and aeroplanes might imply that it's based in some smaller-medium sized town around the 20's-30's... (The main exception might be the skateboard, which apparently wasn't invented until the late 40's, but didn't start to gain traction until the 60's-70's (outside the USA, maybe about a decade later...))

Making a continuous timeline is a mess with so many different themes. Greg Farshtey said earth does not exist in the Bionicle universe. Earth does however exist in the world of Hero Factory. North America was specifically mentioned on the website as a mission location and we know there was an attempt to make a life-action movie set in the Hero Factory universe, which makes Hero Factory one of few themes in which real people with fingers exist. Then there are the problems of multiverses. Hero Factory and Bionicle both have multiverse stories, but Ninjago's multiverse story was never considered canon and Tommy Andreasen said that to differentiate itself from other big IP's, Ninjago does not have a multiverse aside from the 16 realms. But despite all of that, we see a different version of Ninjago in Lego Dimensions...

@Bionickpunk 8 месяцев назад
@@Makutros Kinda hard to believe Greg statement for Earth not existing, when a Human tribal person was seen on the holo display of Mata Nui when observing worlds around the universe, also the reference in Hidden Side and Classic Space sets. Christian Faber has referenced that Hero Factory and Bionicle are more connected and were intended to be connected with his pitch for G2 via mask of time shenanigans. It might be the reason why G2 heavily references G1 mask of time.
@Makutros
@Makutros 8 месяцев назад
@@Bionickpunk it isn't new for Bionicle to have semi- or non-canon information of official images.the Matoran riding the Razor Whale comes to mind or the Great Spirit looking like Toa Mata Nui in All our sins Remembered. Faber also wanted to write a completely new origin story of the masks of power, which makes no sense given the fact that we already had an entire arc about their origin. His G2 is not the same world as G1. It's more like a completely reworked timeline where things get retconned in way that it works for a new story. In the old TTV interview he made it sound as though the original Bionicle story would just be a myth and G2 would both show the altered timeline and how things "truly were" before that. The problem with that is that there are several sources directly authored by G1 characters: The Mutran Chronicles, Dark Hunters, Rahi Beasts, Bionicle World... Those are pretty essential to G1 and you can't just blame them on myth-making. Faber's G2 could have been compatible with the broader Lego-verse, but G1 never was intended to be.
