I'm a makeup artist and i love doing bridal makeup, it's amazing to share that special moment with the bride and make her feel and look beautiful. I have to say I almost cry while watching this makeup, don't know why i just get so sentimental. You look gorgeous darling!
My older sis got married recently and I was able to put all the knowledge you've shown me into effect! On top of that my mom watched all your videos a month before the wedding, learned your techniques and was able to do her own makeup confidently as the mother of the bride. =) thank you so much Jen
I found you last year when I was searching for Asian Bridal Make-up Tips for my wedding. So excited to see that you made a new one! I forwarded it to my two cousins who are getting married this year. Thanks so much!
Monolids have an eyelid hood that covers the lash line, covering eyeliner up. Because of this, a thicker line enhances the eyes without looking like too much. I personally have hooded lids so I usually use a thicker line. Those with a larger crease actually have more space showing between the lash line and the crease, so a thick line might look too heavy. I added the note so people can adapt the eyeliner to fit their crease type best!
I got married last may and before that I've been playing your tutorial on Asian bridal makeup to get tips. I don't know how to put make up on before but your videos helped a lot and I think I did a pretty good job on my wedding makeup. Thank you and keep inspiring people. Love u Jen and God bless!
This look would go great for any ethnicity, but I labeled it as Asian since it would be the most helpful for the majority of applicable eye-shapes searching online for my tutorial. There are a million bridal tutorials now, so labeling "Asian" albeit slightly "un-PC", makes it easier to find. Obviously, it can work for anyone with small creases too but people don't search "small crease" as often as "Asian". :)
Aww this is and updated version of Asian bridal makeup tutorial from may 2011, both equally as beautiful!! Have to say this one has better video quality... Thanks again jenn
Watching it again in April 2017, I just recommended this video to a friend who's getting married in October and she looooves this look! Your videos are always so informative and easy to follow
Here in Brasil, today is almost like a Valentine's day. We call "Dia de Santo Antonio" and this week something really special happened! s2 So now I have 14 months to prepare myself to my wedding day and I'm so happy that you did this tutorial!!! :) I wish you all the happiness, because you're very kind in all your videos!
I didn't get surgery on my eyes! They sometimes get a crease depending on how much sleep I got, or if I wore false eyelashes a few days in a row, or randomly just because. Most of the time they are uneven, which I have a tutorial for as well. ;) Inconsistent eyelid creasing is very common for monolidders & those with small creases. Thumbs up if this happens to you too!
I love this look - probably the most gorgeous wedding makeup I've seen! I really like how natural you are in your videos -- there's no fake-ness and it's awesome (: Thank you!
Thanks so much for making this video!! My mom is getting married and she is japaneese so I thought this was perfect! She wanted me to do her makeup so now I have some inspiration!!! I am glad I already own most of the products but I will probably still need to go out and pick up some more! xoxo
I believe there is silica powder in it which does cause flashback but in my personal experience it hasn't been unflattering. If you are worried, you can always ask for a sample and see how it reacts with your foundation + flash photography. :)
In order of most to least transferring eyeliner types: pencil (kohl) > waterproof pencil (UD 24/7) > gel/cream (Wet n Wild gelcreme) > waterproof liquid (MAC Liquilast) Try a waterproof liquid eyeliner or gel liner (I like MAC Fluidline and Eyeko Skinny Eyeliner) and it will last much better than any pencil!
This is very helpful!! Thank you! :] Can please you do a tutorial on another Asian Bridal Makeup tutorial that involves with other colors besides browns? That'll be helpful!
Hey Jen! I would love to see some tutorials of you doing makeup on other girls with different eye shapes (ie more deep set eye creases) I'm really interested on how you do makeup on those types of eyes.
OMG OMG OMG. Haven't finished watching yet, but I LOVE IT. I hope I remember to watch this when I get married one day. Thanks for the perfect look for Asian brides, Jen! Many thanks :)! ❤
I have hooded lids and when I close my eyes the thick eyeliner looks garish as hell, but when I open my eyes they are the perfect width and actually shows up :)
Just tried this for a neutral eye make up because I wanted to see how it would look on me and i loved it!!! I did it right after the video , thank you (:
Love your tutorials, Jen! I was just wondering if you were planning on showing your skincare routine anytime soon? I'd love to see it, your skin is gorgeous!
Of what I can remember, you've had skin problems before.. Can you do an updated skin care routine please, your skin looks amazing! Healthy glow! Thanks for making videos up until now Jen!
Hi Jen, thanks for another gorgeous tutorial. I won't be getting married any time soon but I'll still try out this look! :P Also I don't know why everyone is nitpicking and criticising you about little insignificant things in the video or about the title. I've been a long time follower of yours and you are nothing but the sweetest makeup guru I've come across.
Haha, no worries I'm not offended. I'm really honored that my being monolidded is an inspiration! ^_^ I've never gotten plastic surgery of any kind, but I believe the measure of a person isn't whether they are "natural" or not, but who they are inside. Makeup itself isn't natural, right? We should support each other emotionally in a positive way no matter how we were born or changed. Nobody is perfect, but we are all beautiful in our own way!
thank you for making this DIY wedding makeup tutorial Jen! This is one of my favorite video from you! I found this is very helpful for those who are planning to do DIY bridal makeup. I hope one day I could do this DIY bridal makeup from your tutorial :)
Yesss this is so helpful!! Makeup artists are expensive so I wanted to learn how to DIY my wedding makeup and I'm so glad you made this! You're one of my favorite RU-vidrs and you also have monolids so this is super helpful! :)
Hey Jen! Can u do an updated wedding look? I noticed that you've changed what products you like since this video. I recently got engaged and would like to practice doing my own makeup before the big day. Thanks in advance!
