Bride Annoyed When Her Alterations Aren't Ready For Her Fitting | Say Yes To The Dress Lancashire 

She's so aggressive - the seamstress is making sure she actually likes the bows and buttons before attaching them, which takes a total of 5 minutes to do.

I think the seamstress' priority was to make sure the dress fit her properly before adding the decorative alterations. They could have added all of the buttons right away, but if the bride ended up not wanting them, they would have to rip off all of the buttons. When you're working with such fine fabrics like on wedding dresses, you have to be careful with the things you do when building and embellishing. The fabric is going to retain EVERY hole made from stitching or pinning, so I'm sure whoever was working on the dress didn't want to risk having an ugly line of distressed fabric down the back seam just in case. I think they could have laid out the dress and placed the buttons and the bow on without sewing them and sent her a picture. But, overall, I think the bridal shop and the seamstresses had the bride's best interests in mind when they handled this situation.

If you wear the cape, do not wear the veil. And if you wear the veil, please no cape. It's too much to wear both at once, since you can't see each in its own glory. Switch out if you are keen on having both.

I think the bridal store did the absolute right thing to show her an idea of what it’ll look like but allowing time for changes

she's freaking out that the bow isn't on and the wedding is in four weeks; but in reality its gonna take 5 minutes for her to sew it on...and she seems like the type who would find something wrong with it, if it was done...

The cape does not look elegant it looks like a costume piece. I like capes but it does not suit the dress!!

The cape does not look expensive...And wearing a hooded cape AND a veil is not a good look. Lastly, skip the bow, it doesn’t match the design of the dress!!!

The cape completely covers every “detail” and alternation she was so fussy about in the first place. Being born and raised in South Florida for 28 years, this doesn’t look Disney whatsoever.

The cape may not be to everyone's taste (seeing some comments about it), but it's really cool that the bride is sticking to her vision and happily being herself in her wedding, and i think that's the most important thing.

Perfect example on how to over accessorize a look - waaaay too many things going on, but she still made a beautiful bride.

The idea of the cape is ok. I've seen other brides do it tastefully...but this blue cape just looks really cheap...

The cape is cool, but not over the veil. Alterations like those are easy enough, shes just nervous.

If this episode had Gok...then we would of had a more stylish, elegant cape.

To those who commented that the cape is not elegant, I think the cape is meant to match the colour of her husband’s suit. Really love how she went ahead with what she wanted!

Cape - Brides choice yes; However it does not look well executed. Secondly that kind of weight on top of veil easily runs the risk of damaging it.

My proposal was simple but beautiful! I was tricked we were going on a camping trip with friends, but then was surprised with a shirt flight to Airlie beach(great barrier reef port) it was just me and him, we had a couple drinks and were walking along the beach back to our hotel, but then he said he had to call his brother about work so I sat on the bench and took pictures of the sunset, all of a sudden I hear a "hey girl!" And it was my bestfriends! I was like omg what are you doing here! And they told me to turn around and my man was on his knee while my other friend was already recording! I was so shocked but not.. lol see it was our 10yr anniversary (we got together at 16 now we are 26) We are not the richest so I wasn't expecting it haha, I have my wedding dress appointment in January 2021! I can't wait to say yes to my dress!

The Cape is definitely unique.. I dunno if I would do the cape, viel and tiarra all at once but whatever makes her feel beautiful is what counts!

Seeing a bunch of other comments, I seem to be quite alone in that, but I actually really like the cape. The colour is amazing and it looks so damn cozy. Also, I don't see the problem with combining it with the veil, as long as the veil stays over the cape. With the veil under the cape, it looked ridiculous, but that was not how she wore it at the wedding. I had a cape on during my wedding ceremony myself. Or, to be more precise, my groom put it on me before the rings were exchanged as a promise of protection, and I took it off when we went inside to party. I still think it looked great on me.

The cape looked really pretty on the wedding day. I was a little apprehensive about it when she put it on the the fitting. But she looked absolutely beautiful with it on at the wedding!

Not many people know how tailoring and alterations work, so it's normal to think that all she asked for should be done by the set appointment, so I get her frustration. To think something was settled only to find out you're so close to your wedding with no visual confirmation of whatever you planned for your big day. About the costume as a whole, I was iffy about the whole thing until I saw how she looked at the actual wedding ceremony, only putting the cape on when outside in the snow. I totally get it now. She looked magical holding that owl too.

I like the cape!! My only issue was the veil tucked into it. I hope it wasn't tucked in during the wedding. Looked a little stuffy like that.

in the shop the cape looked crazy, but when it was shown at the actual wedding was spot on perfect. suited the venue, the theme and his outfit love this one x

I like when bits from the actual wedding are included in the video. The bride got what she wanted, and everyone ended up happy, so that's all that matters. I personally would not have made the cape quite like that, but it wasn't my wedding.

I wore a summer dress ....no wedding gown. Setting was a beauiful garden. One rose in my hand. Pastor and our best friends ...a couple...stood with us. I can never imagine myself going through this kind of insanity to get married.

Lovely dress and her make up looked nice. I think the cape was a good idea, baring in mind it was a mid winter wedding. A shivering bride in wedding photos isn't a good look. I liked the way the cape 's colour complimented her father & Grooms suit.

Hats off to the alteration team. They read this bride correctly. The mum called her "feisty"... a problem ready to happen. If I had 5 cents for every problem occurring in the alteration stage I could quit my job today.

I definitely agree with the seamstresses...I’ve altered many wedding dresses....better to do more than one fitting before you finalize...some wedding gown fabric is very forgiving like a heavy bridal satin...some can be stretched way out of shape like the ones made of mesh knit. You are paying a professional...take their advice.

Agreed on alterations, bride comes for an appointment to try her dress with them done, brings her family with her and they didn't make them to double check if she still wants them? I mean: what??? Even if they weren't sure they might have contacted her prior to the appointment, send her pictures, ask for approval etc... She was too kind and polite, I would freak out😤

Get a grip, woman. It was thoughtful that they went the cautious route and didn't put all the buttons there until they/she knew she liked it. If they had added all the buttons and she didn't like it and she had them removed, then she would have cried that there were pin marks from where they had been-and she would have complained and critisized them for not doing a few first to see if she liked them. And she doesn't think the alterations studio are capable of sewing on a bow in four weeks-a bow that's already made? Ffs. Some people are never happy no matter what, I guess. (And for those who'll say "But it's her wedding", yeah, based on her bridesmaids' comments, she's always like this. Maybe she has a lot of other qualities! Reacting to buttons is not one of them. On a different note: BEST thing about UK weddings? Fascinators! 6:20 They're super common at weddings; a lot of women will be wearing them (hats are more of a thing in England)._Love._ Love the name alone!

The bow covered the top buttons & didn’t add much to the dress. It seems the shop wanted her to see that before continuing with the alterations. Undoing the alterations = added cost & damaged fabric. The bride wasn’t happy with the original bow anyway & the shop had the chance to make another to her liking before attaching it to the dress. The dress fit/was tailored, the veil & cape were ready so the family got a good preview. Too much drama.

Families like these make me want to bang my head into a wall, they think they are your only brides and all the alterations should be done on the first fitting, and that's not how it works! Especially weeks out from your wedding 🤦🏼‍♀️
