To start with I thought 'uh oh' control freak, but actually he was super sweet and supportive. She didnt even try on the first dress, her cousin tried it. It became clear he was on her side. He jumped straight up when she cried. The test run for dancing and 'we got the dress' cheer was everything ❤

Unpopular opinion: I didn't find the groom controlling at all. He was there to support, guide (as she wanted his input), reassure, and share in the moment. I find it wild that a groom helping to plan the wedding is considered 'controlling'. It's not the bride's day - it is the couples day and if the bride wants it to be all hers, then there are some red flags for you.

I think the first fiance is fine. He never said cancel the order because i dont like it. He was given options to rank and he put her dress last which he didnt know was her dress until later. No nasty intentions at all. He then increased the budget to see if there's anything else out there which she missed the first time. He was calm with his replies and danced with her to ensure that the dress WAS the one. Everyone who thinks he's toxic need to understand that a relationship isn't just about YOU, its about your partner too. If you want to replace your partner because you showed them photos and unfortunately they said your dress wasn't nice then clearly you never loved your fiance, and expect everything your way (one sided relationship, now thats toxic). .

So i'm not sure I was watching the same video I was... The groom didn't seem controlling, he seemed like he cared and was genuinely happy when she found the dress that made her cry. She literally said that her cousin is the one that tried on her first dress not her... Seems like her family was controlling and that she didnt really have a say the first time.... Its 2024 folks, not everyone sticks to the same traditions... Before everyone starts bashing what im saying you should know that I have never been someone others can control or manipulate, I have been happily married for 14 years and we had a very traditional church ceremony.... Well , I was in a relationship for around 15 years and without telling everything else, one thing he did was tell me what I should wear , criticise what I was wearing, when I was out he made me actually change! , criticise as I was just about to leave. So I would be out feeling very uncomfortable, very low self esteem and no confidence. I’m out of that now in a new relationship and wear what I choose even if it’s not fashionable all the time. My goodness I would tell the groom to be , to just take it easy and just let the bride enjoy what she likes and just be happy for her. It would be interesting to see the first bride's first appointment. It seems very strange that someone else was trying the dress on for her. I don't think I have ever seen that in this show and the dress wasn't that small for her. Maybe if she was heavily pregnant or something, but bride's try on dresses that don't zip up all the time. I'm glad she found a dress she liked and it definitely seemed more convenient for dancing than the first pick.

i completely understand where everyone is coming from but to be honest, i love my partner very much where i’d want his approval on my dress as well. He doesn’t have to LOVE it as much as i do but i would want him to like it as well. I’d want him to be part of searching for my wedding dress along with the family. But that’s just me.

I was worried about the first couple at first, but I think they are really great together. Usually, a man inserting himself in the wedding shopping is a red flag. But in this case, the bride is just a super passive individual. She allowed herself to be bullied by her family and needed the groom's support in order reject their pick. This is not great. She needs to develop a backbone. But it is what it is. I thought the groom's reaction to the dress he said he didn't like was super sweet. He didn't really notice the dress. He was reacting to how beautiful she looked. Also, he automatically responded in a loving way when she found "the" dress. The final test was if she could dance in it, which was important to both of them. It's a superstition that the groom can't see the wedding dress before the ceremony. That's not what makes or breaks a marriage. I think they'll be fine.

I told my boyfriend early on that he can have his opinions and preferences, but that doesn't mean I will do it. For example, shaving my legs in winter is a no no for me, it's bad enough in summer.
