INDIA-JAPAN FRIENDSHIP CENTER (Japan), a non political , non profit making , non government organization came into being in the year 2002 duly registered under the government of Japan to connect India & Japan in various fields like Culture, Education, Tourism & Commerce and there by promote each other's heritage & good will converging resources of either side. Realizing the essence of education, in the year 2004 we opened a CBSE school in the name Chandra Sekhar Academy in Puri, Odisha which has been the only school in the state where Japanese language & culture is imparted as a regular subject from LKG to Senior Secondary (+2) level. To help out the children of Indian & Odia diaspora staying in western Japan , we've been running a sister concern of Chandra Sekhar Academy in Kyoto, Japan since 2018 which has been the first ever Indian based English medium school in Kansai region, western Japan. Both the schools are run under the guidelines of India-Japan Friendship Center. For the alleviation of poverty & unemployment in rural Odisha, we have introduced one & half year NIELIT A-level course under the Ministry of IT Govt. of India for +3 pass out students. The course has been improvised introducing Japanese & English language into it so as to meet the demand of the workplace. During same one & half year they can learn IT as well as develop their language proficiency so as to be chosen for Japanese companies in India and in Japan as well. For the Indian & Odia diaspora in Japan, we have introduced Hindi & Odia as regular subjects in our international school in Kyoto. To uphold our cultural distinction , the school breaks with prayer & yoga in the morning assembly. The NPO aims at uniting Odia diaspora across the length & breadth of Japan & so has formed a group 'Odisha in Japan' under the auspices of India-Japan Friendship Center (JP) primarily to promote Odisha here because of its miniscule exposure in Japan though the state has rich cultural heritage & abundant raw material reserve. Apart from these, we organize seminars & concerts on various topics to discuss issues that helps us to achieve new heights. We celebrate festivals amidst fervour & enchantment to pass them to our offsprings. We organize Odissi, Gotipua & Mahari dances with classical music including Sand Art & Animation , Yoga, Ayurveda etc. to keep pace with our rich heritage and also prepare Indian foods & sweets to remind us of our motherland. The prime objective of IJFC is to connect India & Japan and there by promote a global community free from pride & prejudice and that sings the hymns of humanity nurturing a better tomorrow for the mankind.
IJFC has received many acclamation & awards in the past for its eventful contribution & achievements. Being the founder President of India-Japan Friendship Center & for its awesome achievements, Kunna Dash has been chosen for assignments in key positions as International Tourism Ambassador of Kyoto, Japan & Advisor to NSDC, New Delhi, Govt. of India. Numerous events like Japan year in India & Indian festivals in Japan have been successfully launched by IJFC time & again. Every year scores of Japanese volunteers & interns from different universities of Japan visit our school to have indepth research on Indian culture, Yoga & Ayurveda etc. Recently he has been felicitated by Japan Government ( Foreign Minister's Commendations for FY2020) for the outstanding contribution in the fields of Art, Culture, Education & Commerce between Japan & India. This is a great civilian award conferred by Japan Govt. to foreign nationals for their eventful contribution to promote Japan.
Odisha is abundantly rich in human resource & raw material and it falls on the same south-east side with Japan which is having world-class technology. Now the time has arrived to transform our age old relationship into commerce & business so as to make each other rich and affluent and that too make Odisha the gate way of south-east Asean nations.
