From their webpage: Through their years of wandering, they were able to pick up a rich catalog of songs passed through the traveling / busking community. In 2012, their mutual best friend and lead singer of folk-punk band Profane Sass, passed away when he fell off a train in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In a way the Bridge City Sinners are a homage to keep his spirit alive and continue passing along the music they all sang together on the streets, hidden in trains, and in living rooms across the continent. They formed the Bridge City Sinners in the Winter of 2016.

This song reached into my heart and grabbed the loneliest, most confused and abandoned part of it and squeezed. Thank you.

I lost my big sister nearly a month ago to cancer. She was 37. I've been listening to and playing this song pretty much every day since I heard it (a few days after her funeral). This performance means so very much to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I met Libby at punk rock bowling and she was beyond cool to me, really made my day.

I wanted to dedicate this to my dear friend Green Daniel Michel. We saw one of your last shows in LA b4 coronavirus hit and he took me to see you guys. We had a good time and it was his last show he got to see ever. He died a couple days ago so RIP and I will always support you guys especially since he loved seeing you guys! ♡♡♡♡

i lost my best friend. he woulda loved this song. i heard it when weird circumstances led me to a bar we drank at a few times. I had a tall beer that we both woulda prolly ordered and this specific version of your song came out on the tv and it caught me. i thought id never find it, i looked for it using some lyrics and didn't find it that night. i just found it today about 4 days later. i'm so happy i found it. it has few things that remind me of him. that rustic good vibe. talking about hearing that news and falling to my knees. and most of all he always called me "brother" everytime we hung " tell me about it brother" "brother" this "brother" that..so when i heard "brother brother brother you are not alone" i felt like it was him telling me that from heaven. thank you so much for this song to both the artist and to bridge city sessions for playing it. I remember how you spoke prior to this song being played what it was about. My dog Nico passed and so did my sister and, my ex of 20 yrs within 1 year prior to my mother passing. This song was different. It was so different because it was the first time I'd heard it live since my father took his own life and it just hit me in a different way without you even striking the first note. I say that because of your intro to that song, having everyone hug. There was a special little creature that accepted my hug an I hers but I wasnt hugging that person. I was hugging my father. I was apologizing and saying the goodbye that I never got to give to him. I hope from here on out, you never EVER play that song again without having everyone hug first. I LOVE these guys so incredibly much. Stumbled across them on youtube. What a fantastic and gorgeous vocalist and a pretty hot fiddle player if I do say so myself. I love the traditional yet edgy sound. They pull it off flawlessly.

WOW! What a wonderful tribute to someone who obviously meant so very much to you all. Thomas was a lucky man to have known such a talented young lady and awesome musicians in his shortened lifetime. I have been a RU-vid member for many years and never felt the need to comment on anything before until now. I must have listened to Ashes 100’s of times this week, followed closely by all your other tracks, love everything about you guys. If you ever tour the UK I will do everything I can to see you, who knows I may be lucky enough to see you in the States one day 😊 Anyway Thanks for the amazing music, look forward to more.
