The last scene with his father dying is a flashback to when he returned back to town BEFORE he met Daphne....he was remembering this moment since he is quite fond of Daphne but he took a very great vow that he can't break now

It amuses me everyone’s reaction to the girls being oblivious to the conception of children. Keep in mind unmarried ladies weren’t allowed to be with men without a chaperone, why would they be educated on sex?

Great reaction. One small clarification, there are duke titles given to royalty like Harry and William, but they really are princes (I know it's all confusing for no reason). Simon is not royalty. He does have the Hastings duchy, a line bestowed upon his father from the monarchy. So he is a peer of royalty but not royalty himself. He is the top of the nobility food chain though. Yeah bye to the creep Berbrooke. Shout out to that actor tho he did his job well. And Simon's dad was a piece of work. So he has all the childhood trauma, doesn't know how to receive or give love....this will go well... Oh and the Queen was using snuff! powdered tabacco I think. Loved seeing Eloise's anxieties, and little does she know Daphne has the very same ones. As you all noted Daphne has to always be "on". She is the eldest sister. It is her responsibility to marry well to set up her sisters for a good life. And she really feels the pressure. It's admirable what is is willing to do for family. Eloise is a bit too immature to really see what Daphne has sacrificed for her at the moment, which makes sense. I'm sure Eloise would look at her sister differently if she knew that she had to knock out a man to avoid an assault and is mixed up in a ruse with the Duke. I think they set this up to show, the only person Daphne can just be herself with is Simon because he's knows all about the mess going on lol. Funny thing is, in modern day, I actually don't think Eloise would be trying to get a higher education at university. She seems to rebel against convention. So In modern day I think Daphne actually would be the one going to the top university, doing the expected job to set herself and her family up well, while Eloise would be a bit of a rebel, whatever that may be in modern terms. I love that about her she makes it fun lol.

Anthony is a viscount. Nobility ranks: Duke Marquess Earl (the same as count--and earl's wife is a countess) Viscount Baron So the Bridgertons aren't a super high ranking. It was just Mrs. Featherington in the books (the father had died), so they changed it to Lord and Lady Featherington for the show, but I have no idea what their rank is. Nobles are not royals.

I always found it so interesting that men would have an issue with their best friends dating their sister because if you keep good company you shouldn’t be worried. If you hold you friend to the same standards you say you hold yourself, then you should know they will treat your sister in an honorable way. In way it is more of a reflection of themselves.
