In the books Julia Quinn wrote in the authors notes that this was his dad's second time getting stung, and that Anthony doesn't have bee allergies. My uncle is allergic to bees and got stung twice now. The second time almost fatal but he got in the hospital on time. The third time he will probably not be so lucky anymore. But allergies differ from person to person. I love your reactions btw!
The father was stung in the neck, the swelling made breathing impossible, so he asphyxiated (not only an allergic reaction the the bee venom). And I think Anthony blamed his mother for not being there, being so absorbed by grief that she left all the responsibility to care for the family to him.
Watching you urging Kate and Anthony to kiss is what I imagine I looked like when I watched this season the FIRST time. Hahahahaha. Very fun. I look forward to the next episode.
Lol I loved this reaction. Recently watched this episode with a friend. He says I'm forcing him to watch nonsense n he'll make fun of the characters up until an intense scene like this n then he goes completely silent n I can feel him holding his breath 😂. I imagine internally his reacting exactly like you did n I live for it.
Epi Pens are the modern day fix. It was dramatized but anaphylactic response can happen very quickly. Subbed today! Can't wait for next episode reaction.
Anaphylactic shocks can definitely come on as quickly as that, especially if you're severely allergic. Very rarely they're delayed by a few hours but how quick it is depends on person to person, and with severe allergies you are likely to have symptoms of an allergic reaction appear within minutes of being exposed. Bee allergies can be hereditary, but you can't really know until you're stung by one if you're allergic. It explains in the footnotes of the book that Edmund had been stung by a bee once before, but developed the severe allergy afterwards without realising, which is usually how bee allergies can go. To actually die might take a little bit longer than this, given what's essentially happening is he's losing oxygen and choking to death as his throat closes up, but if untreated people can die within about 15 minutes of exposure to an allergen, which is still very quick. Modern day you need to always carry an epi-pen which is a needle with adrenaline you inject to keep your heart going - this gives you about a half an hour grace period to get you to a hospital, where you will need treatment and monitoring. And yeah, in those times they had no idea about any of this, so it's got to be extra traumatising and confusing for Anthony and Violet, not being able to understand it at all. No wonder Anthony has a panic attack when Kate gets stung!
18:55 "Girl, you ain't do nothing wrong. This ain't your fault, your sister is just too cool. Your sister just happens to be a Certified Smokeshow®️!" Might be my favorite quote of all time. 🤣🤣🤣
Haha I burst out laughing when you cursed when the horse neighed, the anticipation! Absolutely love that you are reacting to Bridgerton! Can’t wait for more
So glad I found these reactions! I just got into Bridgerton this past December and I'm beyond obsessed. I've watched this season 6 times plus reactions and the first season, 3 times plus. I'm reading the books now and I highly recommend! ************** Book spoilers for the one this season was based on:: the bee in the garden scene-- Kate gets stung and instead of him simply panicking and Kate calming him down, Anthony goes to suck out the bee's venom from her chest- and they get caught in this odd position and are forced to marry! It happens extremely early. I do like that they changed it from forced marriage to E2L slow burn, though, since forced marriage is essentially how the first story went.
LOL...The juxtaposition of you telling us to be kind to you in the comments while literally a few seconds ago you were wishing the most painful death to the Featherington family is just...*CHEF'S KISS* :)
I think it would be a little anticlimactic if they kissed at that moment, since Anthony was having a panic attack and Kate calmed him down 💜🐝 I definitely think the bee sting was the turning point for both of them and they realized there's more to their feelings 👀😍
I've had anaphylaxis, and it is super fast. Not from a bee sting, but needs meds I was allergic to. I was legally dead for a few minutes after about 5 minutes of taking a medication. It can happen so fast. Thankfully I got dosed with benedryl and epinephrine when the ambulance came.
Your videos make me so happy lol.. I found your channel through Queen's Gambit (so great), and then for some reason watched your Bridgerton season 1 reactions even though I still haven't actually watched the season myself haha, but your commentaries are so endearing. Love all the star wars and marvel and such, but have definitely been excited to watch this season with you! The combination of your little jokes alongside your genuine thoughts, references, character insight, general air of positivity/kindness/chill make me smile throughout your videos. Anyway, I'll stop rambling, but keep being you & thanks for the day brighteners :)
I love watching your reactions, and I appreciate your spot on and highly amusing analysis of each episode. Also...you'd make a great professional love scene coach. LOL
In the 19th century it was still common practice to marry one's cousin... queen Victoria's husband prince Albert was her cousin... DNA and the dangers of marriage between cousins, was found in the 20th century, not before. Heck, in some cultures it's still common practice. And yay, Daphne is here! Another thing: my father was allergic to bees, and yes, death can occur that fast, if you are allergic, not only to bees but to many allergies as well. As a firstborn male of a noble (or royal) assumes the title and responsibility of his (usually) father at the second of his passing, so you're right, Anthony was pressed immediately after his father's death, with no time to mourn (they made it extra for TV, to make us the viewers, see it as urgent and hard as Anthony would feel it). I say usually because queen Elisabeth II is a woman and Charles will inherit her title as king, of course. Now after 2013, royal females can inherit titles (or just kingship?) as well.
If you are deathly allergic to bees always carry your EpiPen with you. And have your friends and family carry EpiPen‘s with them to just in case you need it and they need to stick you with it
I think they used the place in which his dad was stung to expedite the closing of his throat Also it is amusing watching everyone try to force them into kissing
In the book, Anthony idolized his father and felt that he would never out-do him in anything, including life-span. Anthony's father was 38 when he died, so Anthony believed that he would also die at 38. So in the book when he thinks of not wanting love in his marriage, he specifically does so because he's sure he will die at 38 and leave a grieving widow behind. The show drops the "I will die young" belief for Anthony, and keeps the "I don't want to cause anyone to suffer like that' part. Either way, his intention to keep love out of his marriage goes back to his trauma with his dad...it is very deep. It explains why he is such an IDIOT and why the end of episode 4 is so heartbreaking!
I don't know if you play Final Fantasy XIV, but the guy who plays Anthony voices a couple characters in that game. Most notably a catboy named G'raha Tia.
If you ever feel like sinking your teeth into an MMO, FFXIV has a free trial! It's a great story, great characters, great music, great community. Based on the things you seem to like watching, I think you'd enjoy it. Maybe try reacting to the trailers here on your channel - I know there's a market for that on youtube, and there are a lot of FFXIV to watch. Sorry, you've probably got your plate full. I'm just passionate about FFXIV. 😂
You keep an epi pen on hand at all times. In today’s time, my dad is allergic to bees but not severe like this, he was stung by many bees as a kid but made it fine. I’m sure it’s not as fast as that
8:34 - I believe you got that wrong: Benedict is not one of the richest people around. He is the second son. He has very little money of his own. It is all Anthonys - and Anthony as the viscount has to use the money to maintain the estate. I guess Anthony will help his brothers and sisters in the world, but Benedict and Colin - if they want money of their own, should go into a profession (become a judge, a clergyman, a military man) and earn some. Love your reactions, anyway!
He is still part of an incredibly rich family though. For instance rich kids now, none of that money is technically theirs, but they would have no problems getting into any school they want because their parents/family is rich. It doesn't necessarily matter if that money is directly Benedict's or not
Hey mate great video I’d has been said that at least Anthony is not allergic to bees but he fears them because he think there Actually venomous and not that it’s only a Just a thing that some people are unfortunately allergic to
