The time has finally come and the trailer for Polin's season has arrived. Bridgerton Season 3 is well and truly underway and now we have a multitude of crumbs to absolutely spiral out about to tide us over until the release. Yes Colin in the books is popular charming and always knows what's going on with everyone I feel like they showed that a little in season 2 when he found d out lord featherington was trying to scam everyone so I hope we see more cause overall they haven't shown much of his true personality

Penelope accepting the fact that they're just friends is honestly such a huge step for her. She's spent the last 2 seasons just sort of waiting for him to eventually love her back, but that was never really fair to Colin. She's realized that she can't control how he feels about her. He is fully off his pedestal and now they'll be on the same level. She's closing a chapter, and starting a much better one.

I think the green dress and the confrontation will be Ep1. I think that the first kiss they shared in the book might also be in Ep1, because the crew said that they "start hot". Those two things (the confrontation, and finally being kissed) let's her be free from Colin and be able to be "just friends". At the same time, the confrontation and the kiss is exactly what opens Colin's eyes to how he feels about her, and he will realize it more and more as the season progress.

I just love that this trailer is mostly from colin’s pov - we have seen 2 seasons of their story from penelope’s pov, so it’s nice to see it from his side. this season CANNOT come fast enough

I think another thing we need to take into consideration when Colin is talking to Violet is that he will soon realize that once Penelope is married, he won’t have that friendship with her any longer because she will be a married woman. I think that is also weighing on his mind because he doesn’t want to lose that good thing. I’ve never seen him laughing and joking with any other woman but Penn, so it would only make sense that he realizes it and wants to not lose that.

What makes the characters laughing together in the show even sweeter is the real life friendship of the actors. You can tell they get along on and off set.

I hope debling goes hard for penelope. I want Colin to think he really is losing her. I want him to be feel utter hurt and loss because she needs her moment to realise it's her main character moment and Colin is on the side thinking shit.

That would make me hate Colin, Eloise and Penelope. Colin really be putting his family in danger after all she done to them. Honestlyy if that is the case. Anthony should disown his brother.

I don't agree. LW did not ruin their family. Honestly in the books she only talked positively about the family. The thing with Marina and Eloïse has been added. Lady Wistledown was somewhat praised for her good character knowledge and would never call out anyone that did not deserve it. Colin as a writer himself wil be jealous of Pen bc of what she has built and his eyes will open to her geniusness. @@crimeandmore2872

No he is wearing a black suit when she’s saying she heard him say that. I am thinking that his puffy eyes under that arch maybe are for another reason. The arch at the ball had him wearing something black but he was wearing his brown coat so I am assuming he is either at the church or some other rendezvous point where he finds out she’s Lady Whistledown.

When it comes to "Pen" versus "Penelope", I'm pretty sure the very first time we see him call her that is the what a barb scene at the trowbridge ball. That first moment with that first long gaze, where he's genuinely surprised by her. Seeing him call her that more and more throughout this trailer definitely feels like more of that surprise and attraction. I love to see this.

I didn't even watch this season and it's already my favorite 🤣something about slow burn friends to lovers just feels really specal plus, I can't stop thinking about how Penelope is absolutely GLOWING, she's stunning and Colin doesn't fall too far behind either. The empty ballroom dance scene… I think it’s Benedict and Sophie.. Luke hinted in an interview that he would have a major dance scene this season.

I don't think they would show them so early in the season. Remember, this trailer is about part 1. I think we will get hints about Sophie more towards the end of the season, maybe a possible masquerade ball would be that major dance scene foe Luke? I don't know, I just feel like the plot would flow better if the first half was more focused on the Eloise-Cressida friendship and Francesca figuring out her place in the society and meeting John; and the second half would be more focused on the future lead Bridgerton.

I don't know why but I feel like the final scene is a dream sequence. There's something about the fire flickering in the background that makes me think that Colin is dreaming and it's right before he shoots up from bed. I've never dissected any scenes so I'm probably way off but their surroundings are giving me dream sequence.

I think the "It seems as though every Bridgerton was born to attract notice. For some of us the notice is very slight." might be a conversation between Penelope and Francesca, especially after seeing the still from the ball where Penelope wears the emerald dress! Maybe Francesca will seek a friend, comfort and refuge in Penelope's company and then those lines will ensue? I am also sooooo heartbroken about the very short moment where Penelope stands in front of two men and they laugh at her (the same men in front of whom Colin proclaimed he would never court Penelope). Now the clip with Colin and her words "I'm a laughing stock of the ton" have foundation and people won't say "you're projecting" or "it's only in your head". Like there will be assholes who mock and laugh at Penelope and I'm so fucking heartbroken but I love they include this to show why she's so hurt. I hope one of the Bridgertons (maybe even Colin, but I would also love Kate or Anthony or Benedict being protective) will intervene somehow, like at least reprimand those dudes for being rude. As Eloise is now the bestest friend of Cressida Cowper - Penelope's biggest bully - we cannot rather expect her to come to Penelope's aid 😭😭

I think tht there was an edict that Pen have a sexy season because Shonda wanted the "real woman" to have a VERY real sexual awakening. Her (Shonda's) edict was that Pen not lose weight, as she did in the book, and that she be attractive, sexy, and prove that you don't have to be a size 2 to be all of those things.

Mirrors: so, I've only just found your channel , so I don't know if you've mentioned this in your coverage of past seasons or not, but forgive me if you have. From the very beginning Penelope has always been associated with mirrors. More specifically, Lady Whistledown has been associated with mirrors. Often when there is a scene with Pen actively concealing her LW persona the camera catches her reflection in a mirror at some point. This symbolism is essentially used to suggest that she is not what she appears to be. So, going into S3 I think they are continuing this symbolism, but that it's also picking up additional meaning. I think you're right that Colin is going to realize his feelings for Pen very quickly, but for whatever reason will hide them just the same way she's hiding both her feelings for him and her alter ego. I think they will find each other in the mirror. Totally exposed with nowhere left to hide they will have to finally be honest with each other. Conveniently, because of the mirror scene from the book, using the mirrors as a double entendre marketing tactic is driving fans feral. Whether it's an easter egg for the books or a hint at a recreation in the show still remains to be seen. Either way, good for them for capitalizing on a theme they established in S1.

13:00 Penelope did say to Eloise you can always tell when a suitor is serious by the way he reacts when you're dancing with another. Nicola is such an amazing comedic actress within dramatic material, I'm stunned everytime she flashes her skilz. I was wondering who he would speak to about his relationship in the absence of Daphne (book). Violet is so apporpriate since she always gives her children love advice. Considering Francesca's first marriage ends with husband dying, her looking at her parents' portrait seems fitting to me. Aagh! I noticed the Pen to Penelope change and thought the same!

Theory. The book titles and episode titles align when the couple officially Marry. So, we've still got time after Polin tie the knot. I think the couple we see dancing are Benedict and Sophie at a masked ball in the final episode where Cressida suddenly announces she is Whistledown and we get a cliffhanger. We've then got the perfect set up for season 4 to be Benedicts story combined with Whistledown being gradually uncovered.

The way the “mother, do you think the best foundation for love…”? Doesn’t seem to actually belong with the last part of the sentence “…is friendship?”, like it’s been spliced. Also, the answer to that question is, “duh, yes”, because as you said, Violet said this very thing. I think Colin asks a different question, but they want us to think he asks this

Don’t mind me, just writing a scene I imagined in my head: Colin walks up to Penelope, on his way to confess his feelings for Pen. Penelope turns her head from Francesca and meets him halfway to her: Colin: Pen, I have something to tell you Penelope: Oh Colin, so glad I caught you. (Whispers) Things are going very well between Lord Debling and I. Colin: Oh…are they? Penelope: Yes, I think a proposal is imminent. (Says with a dreamy look in her eye and a goody smile on her face) He’s everything I looked for in a man and more… Colin (with a longing expression on his face): So you’re happy then? With Lord Debling Penelope: I think so…yes. I do have this silly little grin on my face don’t I? (Points to her lips which are stretched into a smile) Colin (looking wistful): Yes, you do… Penelope: Oh Colin, if you could just see the look on my Mama’s face when we talk about him…she’s never looked at me as proudly as she did today Colin nods his head along as he stares off into the distance. Penelope was happy. That was all that mattered to him. Even if it broke his heart that it wasn’t with him. Penelope: Oh, what was it you were going to say? Colin turns his head back to look at her: What? Oh, nothing. Just…promise me when you get married, you won’t forget about me. We’ll still be friends right? Even if we don’t see each other as often? Penelope: (laughs) Of course we will, Colin. Friends forever, remember? Colin: Yeah, I remember Penelope spots Lord Debling walking into the ball from a distance Penelope: Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to go meet with my suitor. (Giggles) My suitor. It feels so good to say that. Penelope walks off to meet Lord Debling, leaving a wistful Colin staring after her.

Here’s another scene, the letter opener scene: Colin pushes his documents off the table in frustration, accidentally cutting his hand with the letter opener in the process. He had just read the latest Whistledown issue talking about the blooming romance between Penelope and Lord Debling which he didn’t understand why it got him as mad as it did. Penelope walks into the room and immediately sees blood dripping from Colin’s hand. She walks over to him, concern all over her face. Penelope: Colin, look at what you’ve done to yourself (takes his injured hand into hers) Colin: I didn’t see you coming in Penelope: No doubt because you were busy worrying about your injured hand. How did you even do that to yourself? Penelope walks off to fetch the nearest gauze somewhere, idk, walks back to Colin, grabs his injured hand and immediately wraps the gauze around his hand. Penelope: I wanted to tell you that our little schemes are working. Colin: what scheme? Penelope: To catch a man’s attention? (A self-satisfied smirk slips onto her face). Lord Debling has just asked me to promenade with him. Colin immediately looks up to stare into Penelope’s eyes. Colin: So quickly Penelope: And it’s all thanks to you. And me of course. She busies herself with tying the gauze around his hand while she speaks: If only you knew how nice he was to me. He showers me with poetry, and flowers, and the first thing he does after he enters the ballroom is write his name on my dance card. It feels so good Colin. The only other man that’s done that to me is you, of course, but you’re merely just a friend so you don’t count. There, all done. Colin hadn’t taken her eyes off her the whole time she spoke. Only now, as he stared at the handiwork she had just done did he take them off her. Colin: Well, then. As long as you’re happy, Pen, I’m happy. That’s all that matters. Penelope (beaming): Of course. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off on a promenade with a potential suitor. She walks out of the study, leaving Colin alone with his thoughts on the strange feeling that strangled his heart as she spoke of Lord Debling.

I still disagree about Pen not losing feelings, I think she can convince herself after all this time that it's over. I'm pretty sure that one season is several months long and I think that's why it's their season this time. I also think that's why the "Good night Mr. Bridgerton" is one of the first things we saw. Also, when you haven't seen someone in a long time, that also has an effect, especially if you've been wondering if they feel the same. Circumstances change, which makes you see things differently as well. I think their feelings are supposed to build up from there, which is why she's truly interested in Debling. She needed this to move on. She needed to see that there are other things for her, too. Also, this sets their friendship as a foundation, and also puts it to the test. I think this makes sense. Pen doing things for herself is the only way she can be herself with Colin. She needs to figure out who she really is, just like him. She's mad at him because she can't believe that he hasn't noticed all the energy she's put into this, because she's not doing it anymore. So of course, she's convinced that she doesn't have feelings for him anymore. I've felt this way before. She cannot love him if she doesn't feel she can be herself around him. So the love she would feel for him would be different.

This trailer made me feel everything. I felt the romantic and sexual tension the book had. Whew! The fuming and contemplating of Eloise being friends with Cressida. Hoping there will be more footman john and Eloise scenes. I love the flame lighting up when Colin realizes his feelings for his “just a friend”. And the “you are Penelope Featherington. Don’t you forget that” Ahh! Kathany being happy made me happy. Lastly, I hate seeing Francesca so sad. Don’t worry girl, john and Michael are coming your way.

i definitely think the ending scene to the trailer is the alternate, dream scene that Colin wakes up from from like, the first moonlight scene clip that was released, little details have been changed but I think Colin dreams about that scene having gone differently and the fog and stuff makes it seem like a dream sequence and Colin wakes up in a cold sweat about it AHHHHH gnawing the bars of my enclosure. also I don’t like pen’s face in the poster either, why did they Mr beast my beautiful girl

i love how bridgerton does alternative love interests, like ths prince and edwina, they're not terrible people, so they're the genuine tension of this person could infact woo one of the main characters; theres no real drama in it if the 'obstacle' character is like... outwardly evil. in my opinion.

One piece of symbolism I noticed - The clip of a bee “pollinating” the lavender flowers. Bees symbolise fertility, prosperity and teamwork. Lavender symbolises purity, grace and calmness. Might be symbolic of a loss of innocence, a spark of passion or the beginning of a new romance. Or at least thats how I interpreted it :P It could mean something different when we consider Edmund’s death and Kate getting stung?

My biggest wish: Benedict being season 4 and bisexual Benedict becoming canon. Like I would love if in season 3 he would have a love interest for character growth (like Sienna for Anthony, Marina for Colin and Theo for Eloise), but this love interest happens to be a man. I mean come on, this man will not be his endgame, but still the feelings Benedict would have for this man would be strong and real, but it´s a romance he can´t pursue for safety reasons. And then season 4 we again have Benedict falling for someone who he technically shouldn´t marry and fall in love with (Sophie) but this time he won´t make the same mistake and still pursues her and fights for her

Colin's shirtless scene in a bed, it seems like he's waking up from a dream, and the fog around them, gives this fantasy vibes (like Daphne's dream during season 1 dancing with the Duke). Or maybe it's just fog 🤣

i’m actually very surprised that you think the “helping her find a suitor” trope would only last but a short while… We asked the writers to make Colin beg and pine and GROVEL for Penelope!! And the only way that I feel like we are going to get the raw emotion that we need of him realizing that he finally wants her, is when she has completely detached herself from the feeling of her infatuation and turning into pure love; because she had options and because we (including Colin) see how the options treat her (bad and good which i feels like is going to draw sooo many emotions out of Colin now that he sees first hand her experience with matchmaking!)

I'm so excited about Colin and Penelope! I read the book. Spoiler alert !!! One issue I have with the book ( and I hope they change this in the show) is that Penelope asks Colin to kiss her because she has never been kissed and Colin wants to help her check that off the bucket list. Colin starts to realize how much he likes it when he starts kissing her. I love that part. And I can see them doing that in these First episodes with Penelope being worried about kissing Lord Debling for the first time, and she wants some advice. But it just doesn't make sense with how she's decided that she has no hope with Colin. That's how they keep showing it in the trailer. I feel like she has to have a little bit of hope to ask him to kiss her and I'd really rather him initiate the kiss! I want him to realize how much he loves her through kissing her. She may not understand that's what's happening to him at that time. I just don't know how they're going to make the first kiss work. If she's so resigned to him being a friend forever and if Lord Debling is such a great match for her, I don't know why she'll let herself kiss Colin unless he admits his feelings for her, or grabs her in a fit of passion and impatience. I hope that's how they do it. Then again, she might slap him if he did that. Ooohh. That'd be fun if they brought back that old fashioned about to slap you, but now I'm kissing you back thing. To heck with consent in kissing. Just take her, Colin!

I really like the theory on the “Pen” to “Penelope” shift, especially considering his friendzone declaration in Season 2. Okay the second I saw Pen attempting to showcase her flirtation skills, the way Nicola just SLIPS into embodying POLLY’S physical/vocal portrayal of Portia-like, her ONLY frame of reference for how a woman deploys her Wiles is her fluttering, plastic-smiled mother, and it’s so foreign to Penelope’s true self but understandable that she falls back on that stilted, forced manner that’s all wrong for her.
