@@Stabby666Brand new setup, on probably all new equipment, and there's supposed to be someone else off camera that's in charge of all of this stuff but okay buddy. Be a hater if you want to be a hater
@@thecooljohn100 just pointing out the fucking obvious. Do you think this was a well produced podcast? Hell, August could have cleaned this up in a couple of hours.
@@doublebuddy7569Not funny but certainly true. BRICS countries couldn’t be more opposed in their geopolitical intentions. It exists as an attempt to convince people that “dedollarization” exists and that “western hegemony” is ending when it’s just not true.
Some legitimate feedback since chat was useless: 1. Steven was a great host. His questions and responses felt really natural and he seemed comfortable. As long as he's interested in the guest and the topic, I could see the pod really excelling. 2. The set is so much better. Maybe put a shelf behind the guest, some type of aesthetic paneling on the wall, or a display for branding and sponsorships. Just no posters! 3. Camera focus is good but having the shoulder of the person in front of the camera is slightly distracting. Get taller tripods or mount the cameras for a better angle. 4. Timestamps are needed for any podcast over an hour long. 5. Daddy Al-Baddie is crazy.
Riiiiiiiiiiight, but also. The intro was an awkward false start, the audio is fucked with feedback during the first two minutes, the wideshot of the three of them is out of focus for the first five minutes and the camera on Ryan has him out of focus for pretty much the entire duration of the episode (gets progressively better to the point of it being unnoticeable to an untrained eye, but for the first couple of minutes the focus was on the mic - and given that they used a wide aperture, Ryan was all blurry). I guess you pick things up as you go along. That's what constructive criticism is for as well.
Instead of a shelf they need a Neon Light Bridges Podcast Logo to the right of the Guest for some added Branding and to have something on the wall behind the Guest so it's not bland. I agree to the while focusing on the Guest Camera shot, seeing NSE or Destiny shoulders are bit of an issue, imo. Someone has to be on the ball trying to Timestamp and get the Guests and Hosts Socials in the Description before or Immediately after the show. if NSE and Destiny can fix these issues the Podcast will be in a Excellent place. Overall a really good Guest and Episode.
Never seen this podcast before and I’m only here because Ryan is, but I must say, I like the girl in this podcast. She obviously doesn’t know much about the military, but she’s very intelligent, she asks the right questions for someone who has no knowledge of the subject, she makes very effective analogies and she doesn’t pretend to know more than she does. God I love people like that.
She has a background in psychology but not a psychologist she works in the field I forget the term for the job. But she likes reading studies on her streams
@@aunnaqvi3133 I know it sucks that facts don't match your agenda, but it doesn't mean he is deceptive. He is the opposite of it, you are just brainwashed
Damn, this was a good combination. Ryan as a true expert who was there to inform rather than pontificate, Destiny asked interesting questions to push into details of knowledge that we don't normally cover. Notsoerudite made sure things stayed grounded in a format that intelligent viewers who weren't experts on this specific subject matter fully understood. Everyone was amazing and really added to the conversation and showed they were all equals just filling different roles.
this was such an amazing conversation, i actually feel more informed about the world now than before. these are things i read about a lot and this conversation still touched on so much of the minutiae that you don't come across very often. always love ryan mcbeth, huge props to him for giving such a great performance.
i felt the same. maybe it's a characteristic of a good podcast / discussion / debate, if one feels more informed afterwards. the debate with finkelstein was absolutely confusing and made me think i understand less after than i did before.
I skipped to a random section due to the initial audio issues, but the guest was very engaging to me. My father is ex-navy and I really do respect what these soldiers have to go through. Even the thought of flying to a hostile country makes me really uncomfortable. Great guest and from what I’ve seen, you two did great as hosts asking good questions and playing off the guests stories. 👍
@RyanMcBethProgramming is his RU-vid, Ryan does some really great breakdowns that help normal civilians understand military stuff, he also breaks down and calls out miss information no matter where it is coming from. Cool dude for sure.
Randomly found Ryan a little over a year ago through his youtube shorts and watching this exponential growth has been great. He's got a lot of insight into the military world and he makes his videos really interesting. You can tell he's very passionate about the topics covered.
Honestly genuinely happy Erudite was a co-host in this. Erudite honestly asked questions I would have from a outsider perspective and sometimes it was literally something in my mind as the convo was happening that she asked about exactly that. Ryan is a great guest. Really interesting guy with a lot of knowledge. Hoping for more of these kinds of guests.
I follow his own substack which is better. I respect that when he's adressed with a question that's not his domaine, he admits it then either doesn't answer, or clarifies it's an unqualified opinion.
@@bokramubokramu8834the setup for the first one was fan art from both creators. Kayla, being a smaller creator, is likely to have much less to choose from.
At the very beginning, it looked like she wanted him to introduce himself but then cut to the intro and he never got to introduce himself after because she talked about his merch, gotta figure out a better way to start the podcast
@@Keychain649why are some of you so obsessed with talking her down. Dan literally said she did a lot of this and did an amazing job that he never would have done. He’s not involved in the creation of this podcast if not very very marginally in the later stages like doing some testing and giving the audience some laughs during testing. She has no prior experience with the creation of a podcast and made mistakes, but I’m all for appreciating the learning curve. This was a great episode! If anything credit Lycan, and sure, Destiny. Doesn’t mean this isn’t a lot of her work too.
that was the most scuffed intro I have ever seen and I have zero idea why that made the final cut. the awkward silence, the double stacked audio, and it taking 2 WHOLE minutes for the podcast to ACTUALLY start
@@Nightknight1992 Bah. That's a waste of time. It already happened, it's going to get clipped-there's no benefit to cutting out a pretty minor error. It'd be different if this was episode, but it's the first real episode with the reworked setup. Especially knowing who Kyla and Steven are, it would be a lot of extra time for no reason. If it annoys you, just cry more I guess.
This was super good! I remember when Destiny first talked to Ryan McBeth and it was a great convo. I’m glad he got on this podcast. Always a solid guest ❤️
I was so happy, for folks who don't watch Destiny for the crazy unhinged drama he was super well liked, him and Benny are probably going to be my favorites of the year
I love listening to Ryan. He is a great story teller and explains complex things in ways I can understand. Interesting questions. Well done both of you! This is the first time I'm seeing your channel. Very cool!
This being your first actual podcast post. It looks really good and I’m glad you out out the test video, lot of improvements and I’m glad it where it is now.
This guy Ryan great teacher and storytelling plus he has authentic sense of humor, he should have his own late night comedy show he would be so much better than the current lineup of people who claim to be practicing comedy.
This was an excellent interview. Great commentary on the state of warfare around the globe, and plenty of fun/cool/insightful anecdotes. Was already a fan of Ryan, Stephen and Kyla, so this was an exciting collaboration to see!
That was a nice sketch of Canada. I'd really like to see a series on Canada's military challenges strengths and outlook, maybe a series of country profiles.
What an amazing makeover to the background, audio was messy at the start but became better and perfect towards the end. Music is so much better than last time. Maybe fill up the guest wall with 1 or 2 large painting looked a bit empty not terrible though, the painting behind the hosts looked beautiful. The table looked really good with the beer and whisky maybe add 1 or 2 whiskies more at the end of the table. All in all, what an upgrade from last episode. Some ctiticism : The intro is still shit though.
This setup is so much nicer to look at, than the black walls. Thank you for improving this so quickly! I'd still like to see an actual recording instead of a Stream VOD. It's great, that you're streaming it. But the youtube quality is expected to be hire, for a podcast video on youtube. Thanks for doing this and thanks for all the quick improvements. Cheers.
Man, Destiny coming down on the rabbi story like the fun police with "I'm an atheist. I don't care about that" was such a bummer line. Low empathy. Even if i don't believe in any god, i still care that a rabbi counsels a returning soldier with humility. He could have sent a young man away with the idea that since he survived that war, he was chosen for something special. It's an important moment in Ryan's life when sometime with a little more perspective and wisdom nudged him in the direction of keeping his ego in check. That conversation he had while maybe still heart broken over losing the love of his life may have improved his life and is actually interesting.
This episode is LEAPS and BOUNDS better than the first! Ryan is such an amazing storyteller and I definitely see his years of explaining applications to business and security people shining here lol
I like the implemention of this idea, giving the gust a valuable gift at the end of the broadcast. I think it's very beneficial for identity and branding of the broadcast, making research to offer a personalized gifts at the end.
There are a lot of smart, young people out there. I read that the average age on the newer aircraft carriers is 23. They are keeping us safe. WHAT BRAND OF SCOTCH IN THAT BOTTLE?? Great podcast😊😊😊
great podcast! loved listening to you two give Ryan a lot of great questions and debate on some tough topics. First time listener and I really enjoyed the video
Love Ryan and these 2 cats for my money are asking the right questions and being boarder line old school newsy types which is needed. I’m a subscriber now. Thank you 3.
2:27:49 I'm not a historian but I've read some books on this subject and one of the things that have popped up in regards to German treatment of Soviet soldiers was that the Soviets hadn't signed the Geneva convention, therefore the Germans justified to themselves that the laws didn't apply to the Soviets. (A similar line of logic was used to justify the treatment of Jewish civilians) This obviously didn't hold up at the end of the war.
Ryan is great, I have learned so much about the military from him. He reminds me of my great uncle. I used to spend hours with him telling me all his stories.
I'll be honest, I've never heard of Ryan before and tried watching this when it came out but it didn't really capture my interest for the few minutes I watched. However, I think I jumped in at the right time this instance and I'm really impressed by Ryan, fantastic storyteller. Watching this podcast reminded me of why I started watching the JRE in the first place (not so much anymore), learning about things that are really cool from knowledgeable people that are engaging to listen to. Great episode.
Just an FYI in case you didn't notice... I watched this with two good speakers on my TV setup. Ryan kept tapping the table or putting his fingers down on the table a lot. I'm not sure what the best way to fix that issue is, but numerous times I legitimately thought my neighbors below me were banging on the floor. VERY loud if you have any bass in your speakers at all. Just wanted to mention in case there are good ways to avoid that sort of thing in the future. Great guest and the set works really well.
I've been a fan of Steven since a little after the split with Hassan and have been recently following Ryan for the last year and a half and the very idea that this video is happening is wild and I am ever excited to watch
based af. As some people have already mentioned there are some things to tighten up but this was awesome. Great guest, great hosts and I am so keen for what's to come
15 minutes in (or 46:30 into the full vid) Destiny really comes in hot on the mic and I had to comment. Up til now it has bee really noticable that Ryan is much quieter than you two. I am assuming because of the distance to the mic. It's bad enough so that it's diffucult to find a listening volume loud enough to hear Ryan, but not painful when you talk.
Hey this was a lot of fun to listen to. Guest was informative, knowledgeable and engaging. You both were also very engaged in the subject matter, asking probing questions. I appreciated Erudite's approach from a very laymen's prospective.
