Sixth grade elementary teacher Maribel Alba demonstrates strategies that she uses to encourage English Language Learners to participate in academic discourse. Through the creation of a positive environment, students in her class move from interpersonal discourse to discussing the cultures of Ancient Greece and Sparta.
