Amazing Video So much history in the area! Would it be possible to do a video of Stourbridge Road Holly Hall and the surrounding area? Particularly interested in more information about the Low Town site and the terraced houses opposite the Liberal club.
Great video. Thanks! I don’t know how you retain all the information without looking at a script! It’s so obvious local history is something that you love. Looking forward to more videos !!!
@@rachelharris5527 Its years of asking the older generation stuff and research I love reading about old areas and small things are big things to me the little details so I can make up a bigger picture in my head ... I do use a bullet point script and I do forget lots 😄
thanks jamie, i enjoyed your vid greatly. would also like to see a marsh and baxters vid some time in the future. keep up with your passion for local history, its greatly appreciated ime sure. regards mick.

Brilliant video - bought back a lot of memories - thank you. Would really love it if you would do a video on St Michaels Church and also the land where Withymoor Village is now
Many thanks for the history of a local town. There so much I learned from the video that I never known existed. Just a same that the local council decided to knock down all of that historic buildings and for what ?.

@@BlackcountryhistoryhunterBCHH Your Welcome you done a cracking job and clearly done alot of research ..I would love to see something on brockmoor/pensnet/Dudley fields ...
I used to live in upper gornal vale street , the house was Victorian era I think . I would love you to do a history of that street as there was a windmill opposite my old house. It used to have a lot of the old features including an old fire place and an old pantry. The upstairs was all original too, the hallway to the bedroom had little windows on the top. if the people who live there now let you look around you would be amazed.
every year on the 29th of September Brierley Hill held the annual wake which was supposed to celebrate saint Micheal's day but it ended up being a blood bath
Grew up in the flats and maisonettes in the late 80s to mid 90s. Not too many fond memories. The flats area was a huge dumping ground.for want of a better description, ex-cons, the homeless and more. Still we had the canal to roam around and something of a small woods. It did inspire me creatively though.
@@chrisabbey8352 Surprised he didn't go down by there, guess the history is too modern, same with flats, though The Plough Inn across from St. Michaels was missed.
Great video! It's funny how back then it seemed there was less government control, i.e., the law's ect, but yet. More people got on with each other BETTER with LESS LAW'S and GOV CONTROL LOL.. I went up here last week... They are cleaning it up, but.. I've never seen so many Turkish barbershops, etc. I felt a bit out of place, ANOTHER LYE HIGH STREET in the making, I think. to be honest. Everywhere is really changing now.
More on the bull n bear bating pls. Bell and bear gorsty hill black heath - would that have been a bating reference? More on slaves pls it does need to be discussed and not glossed over. Marks and Baxter very big in area. I lived on the Robin Hood Estate where the old marks and Baxter site was and it still had caveiots in place dating back to them.
@@BlackcountryhistoryhunterBCHH we both have drones, my partners one is just over weight so we have asked a relative to do the on line stuff for us. But I have the lighter one because I understand we don't need a license, but others said I still need some number so have asked for me to have one as well, once we are licensed you are welcome to footage or even to steal him for a few hours to use his drone shots. Lovely show as always will share it soon
@@bethanduke2566 yes that would be great and thanks for sharing it really helps.. I am not the best pilot yet but getting their the DJI mini flies itself would love a big one like a inspire or a Mavic but I get by with the DJI mini 2 ... The serial number is more to help identify a lost drone but otherwise your ok flying it .. it's so small and light could hardly do damage hence it is classed as toy
Great video Mate, what a building they have got to keep this old picture house, you can see that brickwork how well it is built brilliant, have a nice day Mate and keep blowing that trumpet for The Black Country People love it and keep um comin !!! Brian, Cradley !!!. 😀😀👍👍🪒🪒⚒🛠.
