Brazilian here and loved your recipe, it's so interesting to see people from another country preparing something typically from where your are from. Now, If you still want to play with this type of recipe we have a lot of different variations. For a Cononut version you might want to try "Beijinho", which is the same as brigadeiro but instead of chocolate you use shredded coconut. For a bit of strawberry flavor you can try "Bicho de pé", which is again the same as brigadeiro but this time instead of chocolate you use some strawberry jello powder (lemon is also great). And last but not least, for a bit of peanut flavour you can try "Cajuzinho" which is the same as brigadeiro but you add nome shredded roasted peanuts to it. These recipes over here are very common and typically served at birthday parties.

This a typical Brazilian treat and everybody loves it. To the comments below I would just add that we normally use chocolate (sweetened or not) in powder instead of cocoa powder. But your recipe is also great and works pretty well. Your pronouciation for brigadeiro is almost there, keep trying and making brigadeiros. I like this channel a lot!

I'm Brazilian and yesterday I made brigadeiros with 100% cocoa powder for an American wedding, everybody loved them. When I checked the table out they were all gone!!!! From the all times I made them I've learned that's the best way to make brigadeiros for the American taste. Congrats on your video! I'm trying to find a good one to share with the bride's mom and her guests.

Hi Sacha and Minion, I make sweets almost the same as these at Christmas, only I pour chocolate over them (plane, milk or white) before covering them them in nuts, I've even put a hazelnut in the centre. I put about six in a festive bag I buy off line, then tie with a red ribbon, and add a little Christmas tag. There so special, and wonderful extra little gifts for friends, family, and I've even given them (a bag each) to the postman, dustbin men, recycle men, along with the money in the card, they have alway been very much appreciated. I'm so glad you've made these, I just call them '''my sweet Christmas balls''' Lots of love and big hugz to you both 💐🌹💐🌹💐🌹xxxxxx

+Totally Sacha Hi again Sacha and Minion, I had no idea you had experienced people being horrible, I can't understand why people need to be so nasty. Their lives must be so horrid, that the only way they can feel good, is to pick on people they are so jealous of, that are doing well..I'm so sorry this has happened to you and Minion, and hope this is the first and last time you have to go through that ordeal. You have great subscribers who will always be there for you both. Try and put this last weekend behind you. Big love and hugz, to you both 💐🌹💐🌹💐🌹xxxxxx

a quick tip, you can make them with small strawberries inside, it will look a little bit bigger than the regular one but it tastes so good! Also if you make the white version of brigadeiros, you can put unseeded green grapes inside, it's just to die for, so delicious!!!!

Hi Sacha, My name is José, and i;m living in Holland.I love your recipes and my favorite is the key lemon pie.Just made the brigaderios, i did not get them as smooth as you don't know were i went wrong. I think they are quite rich..
@totallysacha
@totallysacha 9 лет назад
+Jose Mcgowan Oh no what a shame... if you kept the heat low and stirred and stirred for 10 minutes, any cocoa lumps should have eased... If it was too hot, or your pan was too small - some of the sugary-caramelisation going on can burn and drop back in, which may have given you lumps... could it have been that? (it's why they recommend a wide based pan is always good for anything involving hot sugary syrups). Was any of that pertinent?

bre-gah'da(y)-ross. "ga" like in Lady Gaga. Emphasis on da(y). Great stuff! Some Brazilians make them with chopped pistacchios on the outside for green is Brazil's national color (next to blue and yellow). Or like during times of World Championship, just use food color on your coconut according to your team's colors, and voilá, you got nice fan food for your soccer party.

So nice to see "our" brigadeiros (your pronounciation is almost there! ;-) )! The latest trend here (in Brazil) are gourmet brigadeiros, i.e. flavored with different liquors or filled. Personally, I still like the traditional with chocolate strands best! This video is in Portuguese, but I guess it is self explanatory: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FtiNY0VpyVY.html
