You can have all of the harmony, pitch, and key you want. But when you have no heart, or love in your music....then it's not music. It's a spectacle when you can truly feel the music, having the notes coursing through your body, it's amazing. It's not music without that.
this song is so amazingly beautiful and moving. and the passion he shows and what you can just hear in his voice literally gives me goosebumps everytime i hear it. this is art, talent, poetry, and passion all at its best. he is a gorgeous man and his music is simply marvelous. if you can't relate to this song in some way then you're not human.
The album is called "Lifted The Story Is In The Soil Keep Your Ear To The Ground" And the songs is called "Big Picture" It's my favorite album of his I've heard but I only have three of them.
tortured artist. melencholy poet. frgmented soul. to witness such wonder. in person. to experience. in twenty days. twenty of them. to wait. to stare in awe. in wonder. to feel the deflected mist of genius. spill over my escence. baptise me in such vacancy. such fullness. such absent completion. to be reborn...why wait twenty days? why not nineteen?
@futoncat actually on the record it is kind of like that, it has him and the chic he's singing with talking in the backround and it's like they're in a car, and you can subtly hear the sound of the engine and the other cars on the street and stuff. just gives it that much more character i think
i love bright eyes ;_; i love the impurity, the imperfection, the raspy sorrowful meaningful beautiful voice conor was gifted with. never have i heard such empathetic lyrics and such meaning in some ones voice..... and then theres justin beiber ._. *sigh*
Yes, that's exactly how I feel, accept that I have seen Bright Eyes three times...But now It;s all over...Let's hope for a reunion, because they never said anything about them breaking up or something...So Bright Eyes still exists (Otherwise at least in our hearts)
Hehe, I saw him in september in Amsterdam and he explained that he had a sylliva problem. There we're some very unlucky people in the front row gettin sprayed on. I guess he already had this in the lifted-era. Anyway, this is just a pure, straight-up genius at work, right here.
@charlieandthatboy A song doesn't require a chorus - or often conventional structure. It's perfectly okay that you don't like it. Apples and oranges, that type of thing. :)
Pretty sad how you can't enjoy something with such passion. The rules of music are only a guide they are not laws. Do you have any idea what poetry is?
@MonkeyEye2U It's called emotion and passion, which is far more real and important than any of the shit you just listed. The fact that you list "Simon Cowell" as the judge of all things musical sums up your taste though, so perhaps this is a debate I should just avoid.
How much of a Jesuit is Conor Oberst? Great songwriter though. "I'll send y'all this message in code: under ground, over mountains, through forests, and deserts and cities. Across electric wire, it's a baited line. The hook's in deep boys. There is no more time. You can struggle in the water. Be too stubborn to die. Or you could just let go and be lifted to the sky."
really?!?!? i've met him like 4 times and have never ever noticed...so I don't know... is there even such a thing as a saliva problem, of such sorts?!?!
