Thanks for showing issue #6. I'd seen some rumors that it was entirely pixelated but that looks decent enough that I'm not really worried about having ordered the book anymore.
Following the video I had a glance at my copy. Issue #6 is pretty rough in person. If I didn’t know better, I’d wonder if the art was treated in some fashion to look like it was being viewed on a monitor or some such. One issue like this certainly doesn’t effect the enjoyment of the story, but if the entire omnibus was like this, I’d expect some level of clamoring for a recall and correction.
They did a restock of the Blackest Night omni around the same time this came out on IST so I ordered them both. Can’t wait to read them back to back. Solid video as always 🔥🔥🔥
On my copy, and just in #6 there is a white border on the left side of each page - almost as if the page layout is misaligned. And of course, the art is pixelated too.
I have this huge tome at my local library. I am going to enjoy reading it soon. Thanks for the helpful and passionate review. I bet it would be an entertaining read for sure. I remember Wonder Woman has become a star sapphire and it was awesome.
I know it's divisive, but I really loved Brightest Day, and I think the omni is probably the best way to read it. Where as Blackest Night ended up being an uplifting story of good vs evil, Brightest Day is a much more somber look at the themes of death, destiny, and loss. It's definitely not for everyone, and mileage may vary for how satisfying you'll find the ending.
It's been over a decade but I remember loving this series so I can't wait to get this omni. It had really cool stories starring Deadman, The Hawks, Firestorm, Martian Manhunter, and Aquaman. DC comics was kinda in bad shape at this time though. Batman was awesome, but it usually is. Green Lantern was still really good but that Brightest Day and then The War Of The Green Lanterns was definitley the low point of Johns' run. This series and the Justice League: Generation Lost maxi injected some excitement back in the DCU. Just not enough to save it from them doing the New 52. Take care and peace everyone.
I really liked this series and also really liked where DC was heading after Blackest Night. And then someone got the bright idea to reboot the entire line and ruin everything.
I'm happy enough with the pair of Eaglemoss HCs, haven't revisited this one for a few years though so might be about due. Kind of want to track down Generation Lost to read alongside it though and would certainly consider a Lantern marathon as a lead in.
I really liked Brightest Day. A Justice League: Generation Lost Omnibus would be a welcome companion to this one Oh, and today is Batman: The Animated Series 30th Anniversary, so cheers to the greatest cartoon of all time. Celebrate accordingly. 🦇
Wow… just started reading my copy and it’s great! But man, that issue 6 scan is really bad. How did they drop the ball so bad on this? It’s like the book drops to 480p for an entire issue!
Omar why does this new paper seem to wrinkle up much more than the old stuff? My best guess, is how much more ink they use, and how much thinner the pages are. But I was wondering if you had a definitive answer.
Stopped watching the video when you gave the spoiler warning. 3:20 I haven't read Blackest Night, and waited until I had gotten Brightest Day. This has some of my favorite DC heroes The Hawks, Martian Manhunter, & Firestorm.
Yet another DC book that’s out yet Marvel just keeps pushing there farther and farther War of Kings reprint now comes out Jan 3 instead of November ughh
