@@pietias231I understand. I was wondering why you hadn’t uploaded in nearly a year until I saw this video uploaded. My mind was blown.

Brilliant video of entire route from Brighton to Eastbourne. Very clear. Have you thought of showing the return journey?

Hello, At this moment, I am enjoying your video. This seems to be a wonderful, day trip, siren. One would have to pack a nice lunch for this tour. What about loo, breaks? All the very best Shaun of NYC🗽.

Nice Video - many thanks - and a good subject. I'd wondered about this new route 28: it's rather cobbled together, and doesn't quite give the express service I'd hoped for from Hailsham to Lewes, but it is half-hourly and runs late in the evening, and the country section through Laughton is really lovely - as you show.

Well if you made it express, you would have sacrificed the service provision for the Broyle Estate (or even all of Ringmer if you routed it via the A27), which wouldn’t have made you very popular in the eyes of the residents. A slow-ish service is still miles better than no service at all. And hey, at least it’s not taking a massive detour via East Hoathly…

@@KasabianFan44 Agreed - and, as the video shows, the route does cover a lot of country. My point is that East Sussex (and many other counties) has many towns and large villages which either lost their rail services or never had them. The lack of a co-ordinated inter-urban network of reasonably fast public transport between such places (plus the big centres) seriously inhibits anyone without a car. Building/rebuilding rail lines takes years, but express bus routes can be done quickly. The XL limited stop buses between Peterborough, Wisbech, Kings Lynn, Swaffham, Dereham and Norwich is a good example of what is possible - and commercially viable. I don't understand why Brighton & Hove buses are not doing this: they are otherwise a good company - and have the advantage that the local trains are also in the Go-Ahead group and through ticketing would be achievable, particularly if the express buses called at Lewes station.

@@ricktownend9144 Aye, that is also very true. The closest thing Brighton has/had to a true express service was the one pair of 29X services, which ran directly via the A27 and A26 with only short run-round diversions to serve the town centres of Lewes and Uckfield. It wasn’t actually that much faster than the regular 29 route, but it was less susceptible to traffic-induced delays. Unfortunately the new timetable removed the afternoon outbound service, which is such a shame :( I mean really the solution should be to reinstate those lost railway lines. Lewes to Uckfield and Tunbridge Wells would definitely be a very popular route today, but in my opinion an even better one to reopen would be Tunbridge Wells to Heathfield, Hailsham and Eastbourne. The towns and villages along that route are very isolated and far away from any decent fast public transport. It’s a crime that both of these routes have now been built on…

Are you planning to do the new 29A route to Heathfield via Lewes, Isfield, Uckfield, Framfield, Blackboys and Cross-in-Hand.

I will try during the bank holiday weekend, if weather permits.
