" Breaking Down " from The Album " Ceremonials " is a brilliant and hugely underrated song from Florence and shows how she can take a melancholic song and make it so " Listenable "...The music Vid for it shows Florence just being as she is...no frills, pretence or fake acting but just being her lovable self.

He was "her grounding", keeping her grounded and calm side. "Is this how it is, is this how it has always been, to exist in the face of suffering and death and somehow still keep singing". Profound, I had tears flowing when I heard her sing these lyrics.

I love your reactions and breakdowns to Florence’s music. :) Would definitely like to see you do more reactions to her work! Also I really like the way you look at things. I’m diagnosed with bipolar disorder and general anxiety disorder, and in a weird way you’ve helped me find ways to better articulate what I’m feeling to others, especially my therapist.😅😅😅 Oh and it’s pretty cool you play MTG! I will highly recommend you watch The Odyssey. It's a short film they made for the 3rd album. "How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful" I'm sure you will like more than a couple songs. I dare say Ship To Wreck, What Kind of Man and Delilah are sure hits.

I don't think I ever had a problem with "pop music", I think my problem is the shallowness and commercial cynicism of it. This isn't that. When "pop" is done by a real creative genius you can let it go and enjoy it on a new level. You can't do that with Beyonce or Justin Timberlake, because their "art" (even if it sounds good on the radio) doesn't challenge you, doesn't have any real deep meaning. Don't get me wrong, pop has its place, I get that people like it. But music is an art form, it's supposed to mean something. IMO Florence is a unique masterpiece painted in oils on canvas while most pop is nothing but a black and white print of unnamed smiling models that comes free with the photo frame.

Interpret the meaning of a song based on the music video can be a totally different experience from the one the artist had when conceiving the song ( and it was what it happened to me while watching to this video ) but that's totally fine for me, as a subjective experience, because my ideas have changed along the way... and I won't discuss about this right now... but when you talked about the experience of falling in love for different characters every single time we watch to a movie, listen to a song or read a book... reminds me of those experiences I had ( like watching to Six Feet Under for example ) wich was a totally different experience from the one that took me there... and it's also interesting that your talking about present ( anxiety, depression and everything) , made me think about something I read ( don't remember where right now ) about time and how each person experience "time"... ( some people as a straight line, and some other people as a curved line, with the center as the starting point, or "the present" ) and looking forward or backwards can be a totally different experience to each person, because to some, past and future seems closer, and to another more distant... and that's what I thought about when you were talking about present and everything an artist go through while creating their art ( and even common people, like us and them too ) as crazy as these ideas it may seem...
