All these videos of organizing a phenomenal pantry are nice. But the fact is most people do not have a small room that's designated as a pantry. What about us that just have kitchen that won't hold a dozen canisters, etc.? That's the real challenge - in my cabinets the storage containers would eat up most of the space.
If you don't have space just don't buy much? These RU-vidrs are basically Americans living in the boondocks where they go to costco or walmart once a month so they need to actually buy so much. If you have the privilege to live in the city then just do your shopping once a week.
@@aesyamazeli8804 .... I believe you missed the point that she was making that a lot of these RU-vid people have these huge homes and huge pantries that are not the normal setup for the majority of people..... you can probably adapt what she does to your own space but it would be a bit more challenging.
@@aesyamazeli8804 obviously I don't buy roomful of food. Also, clearly suburbia is where these homes with huge footprints are - they are new construction.
@@aesyamazeli8804 That's a great concept, but not necessarily very practical for a lot of families. I have two teens and three adults in my home (counting myself), and two of the adults have very limited function. I can't easily have "not much" in my home, and need to buy certain items in bulk, to save some money. Our house was built in the 50s, however, so wasn't designed with even a small pantry, or the best kitchen layout for great storage. So, it is nice to come across organization suggestions that benefit those of us who have limited space, but still need to stock enough items to feed our families. Even the basics can take up more room than some might realize.
These are all wonderful ideas. I WISH I had the kitchen these would work in. Please consider doing something for small kitchen spaces. I have minimal cabinet space. Also, my Cabinets were built in the 70’s, so no special pull outs or drawers. Any suggestions? Or maybe videos I have missed? Btw, Im from NC too!❤️
It's all about finding the container that suits your needs. Sounds like you have deep cabinets? Ones where you need to reach all the way to the back to retrieve something or worse empty everything out to find anything? Try getting the pull out drawers that you can just place in your cabinet & for added security you can tape or nail it in. These are a bit more pricier than dollar tree, but try the discount stores like TJ Maxx & the like. They're also at Sam's club and HSN or QVC. Good luck!
I’m sure there are how to videos on installing pull outs or more drawers, etc. Try googling it. But your kitchen may not permit even that. “Dream” on it, seriously. ✌🏻
In my kitchen apartment there are only cabinets above the sink and it's a larger kitchen. I measured a peg board to a wall and hang things with hooks. Shelving or a metal shelving unit - which I cannot get used to because that was the first kitchen shelving ever, in my first apartment in 1978! Now they're over $300!!!
@@lorrainebecchetti4865 doesn’t seem like they are actually asking a real question, prob a more hypothetical one. Honestly it’s true, I have gone to many Dollar Tree’s nearby or even not so close and it don’t seem like many of the items ppl list are available. I’m sure they are stocked in those locations, but it is frustrating to see a cool idea and not be able to do it at all, ex. the way the OP designed!
@Lorraine Becchetti I'll tell you the secret never go to a dollar tree that opens at 8o'clock Find a Dollar Tree that's in a upper neighborhood that opens at 9 AM. They have way better things. you'll thank me later
I'm too picky about plastic containers, when it comes to storing food items .... and I've done this type of organizing since my daughters were young ( 30 years ago .....) I had all my cabinets organized, refrigerator.... Who knew that I was ahead of the " Organizational Curve ".... but I like the idea of the Laundry baskets, I think it would work for kids toys, all kinds of things. :)
The clip n lock containers work great for smaller skeins of yarn threat the yarn through the top and when not crocheting just snap shut and yarn will not get all messy.
I love your ideas and videos. I’m on a fixed income and am in the process of reorganization my kitchen then one room at a time. So thank you soooo much. God bless
My mom will store food in cheap plastic, that plastic leaks into the food making the food smell and taste like plastic. I do not recommend people store their food in plastic tubs.
Im actually almost embarrassed by the fact that I'm a 37 mother & I've NEVER thought to just...push the cans out of the box??? more embarrassed at how mind blowing that is to me hahaha I truly I appreciate ur channel soo much
You can do the same filling an ice chest Just open each end of the box-push them all in at once-ala' the demonstration & cover with ice !! So much easier & faster than doing it the other way !! 💜✌️
@@ladywytch129 Absolutely, because then you have to decide if you should leave half in the original packaging or get another container for that. It’s so annoying.
One ☝️ f the main ways to “see” your pantry items, is to NOT push them to the back of a cupboard or cabinet. “Facing the shelves” like they do at the grocery store. Bring all your items to the front of the the cabinet or shelves. I find cabinetry in the states are far too deep to be practical.
Hey, the box where you can pull out several jars at once, sometimes I cut the side in half and leave it like that like how they do soup cans at the grocery store.
"Dollar Tree" in my opinion is the best. I'm surprised you don't have these if you have others. Unless it's a new section just added, as she mentioned, all items at Dollar Tree are $1.25 now.
You can order directly from Dollar Tree. Maybe a neighbor would be willing to go in on a purchase of both your favorite items. Storage bins, glassware etc. Split the cost and help each other get organized.
I love all your Dollar Tree tricks. I would love to know how much you projects cost. I know everything is only $1.25 but how many of those items does it take to complete a pantry this size?
@@lexijones8019 Glass jars sound lovely and honestly- in theory. They would be a nightmare for kids bc they are far too heavy, difficult to maneuver and breakable.
Glass jars are not expensive. You can get a case of 6, 64 oz Ball Jars shipped to your home for about 20-25 bucks. The problem with glass containers is that they’re heavy and breakable- even those with silicone sleeves. In general, the silicone and glass containers are lighter, but they’re very expensive and still impractical- especially for a household that has kids. Plastic organization is kind of a necessary, but helpful “evil”. It’s affordable and functional…and it’s not particularly hazardous or prone to causing injuries when dropped.
Can you do a pantry that doesn’t have removing items from the original package? I have searched for a pantry redos that uses baskets and other only. I never have the right size container to repackage! Urghhh. Lol.
I've done that for a few things. You take the packaging (boxes are best) and cut off the flaps. You can just set them up that way, trim the sides a bit shorter (to fit on the shelf) and cut out a handle to make it easier to grab. If you get the same boxes (and they fit easily without too much fuss) you can even tack on some paper to the front that can be transferred to the new box as you buy.
My daughter and I are renting a very small house. In fact, all the houses in the neighborhood and environs are very small, and I don't even think some of these containers would even fit in them, sadly.
I know...these channels that promote buying this crap are so frustrating. Who cares about your impact on the environment, At least your pantry is organized .
These are great ideas, but what I started doing is not hoarding pantry items and only buying what my family plans on eating for a week or so, then going back to stock up as needed. I purchase groceries with purpose and intention. Not only has this helped me save lots of money, but it keeps things from going to waste and has helped us eat much healthier as we’re not eating lots of processed pantry items.
These little plastic dishes are ideal in your bench stand for anything you put in there then when it gets messy you clean them out one by one and not have everything all junk together.
Have quite a few of the sure fresh containers & I love them. Been using them for a couple years now. They r a good solution for those like myself who don't or can't spend a lot of money for food storage. I recommend them. They r great & I have never had issues with them ever.
I did exactly this over 10 years ago. Everything has held up except a few of those white locker bins. They crack easily. Zip tie a hamper to a trolley.... mind blowing 🤯
