Oh Marloes! I loved, loved, loved this video! I actually love all of yours - I love when you take us on walks of your gorgeous countryside, I love brocante shopping, watching the work you're doing on your estate... the meals and desserts you make, your decorating style... I love all of it. But as someone who is learning French and looking one day to visit... this was incredibly inspirational and informative. I will go out on a limb and say that, without a doubt, I will become an ardent watcher of the French Channel. It's exactly what I have been looking for to extend my knowledge and appetite for all things French. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Thanks so much for your kind words! Yes I had the same feeling and excitement when I discovered France Channel! It is all the best things coming together! I am so enjoying it and super grateful we were able to get in touch and partner with them.
Thanks for the french ideas their cossy and relaxing also thanks for the french life style and vibes for us to include not only for the christmas season but for our daily life family reuniones Wishing You and fam. Blessings and merry christmas holidays celebrations take care regards🎄🎄⛄⛄🎄🎄⛄⛄🎄🎄⛄⛄🎄🎄⛄⛄🎄🎄
I recently brought France to my home with your beautiful book ! I just received it and I look forward to read it slowly page by page. Thank you for writing it ! I love Peter Mayle too of course. The way he describes food ! You can almost taste it ! I wish you and your family a lovely Christmas celebration ! With much love from California 🇳🇱🙏💕
🎊 I really appreciate this video! Thank you for sharing these fun and interesting tips! I especially like the books and the France channel 👍 Happy New Year!🎊
Such a lovely video. I love all of them. Thank you for sharing these wonderful ways to bring France into our homes. I can't wait to make the bread & read the books. Also, looking forward to France channel. And of course your cook book. I was in Paris this summer & my next trip will be to the the French Countryside. I found your channel while researching French Country Kitchens for my upcoming kitchen remodel here in California. I have found your videos on brocante & your home tours to be so valuable. The area you live in is so beautiful. Wishing you all the best in this New Year & I look forward to more of your wonderful videos!
So much good information and excellent suggestions here. I am particularly interested in Peter Mayle's book. Thank you. Finished with Christmas preparations...tonight Midnight Mass, tomorrow Christmas brunch. Sadly..no snow but tis the season of celebration and birth. Joyeux Noel to you and your family and all the wonderful people you have presented in your videos. 🎄🎆🎁
I absolutely love all your suggestions on this video! I have already purchased some of Peter Mayle's books but unfortunately I can't find any of Francois Bourdin books translated into English 😔 So disappointed in that! Even though I'm a few months behind seeing this video it was absolutely what I needed to see now and the suggestions were spot on!! Thank you so much for all your hard work in giving us a glimpse of France and Your Country Life ❤ USA
Hi Marloes, another set of three books you might enjoy are by Janine Marsh - an English lady who moved to the North of France. I have read the first two and about to start the third. Nice easy read.
Marloes, thank you for such amazing and beautiful videos. My life is very challenging right now and your videos have been a stress relief and blessing me. Your videos are like a living magazine. Thank you for such beautiful content.
Hi Marloes! Im so excited! We celebrated yesterday with gifts and dinner, with all my children and grandchildren home here. 21 of us. Anyway, i was telling my daughter about your book and how I would love to get one, but thought I couldn't here in Canada, and she gifted one to me! Im so excited, that, I'm up now at 6 am looking at your book with my coffee, while all the others are still sleeping. It looks lovely. Im going to enjoy my quiet time with it now. Have a blessed Christmas with your sweet family. ❤ Greetings from Edmonton Alberta Canada 🇨🇦❄🎄
I love your channel! Thank you for this beautiful video filled with great ideas. You truly are an inspiration! I watch you all the way from South Africa.
Thank you for another wonderful video. Love visiting with you so much. This was so sweet and cozy it made me feel like I was sitting with you face to face. You are a lovely person. Happy and Blessed Christmas to you and your family, expecially Tigree.
Oh, my goodness! So many wonderful things packed into one video! From the gorgeous bread wreath to the breathtaking chapel at the chateau to your tips for bringing France into our homes, what more could one ask?! Wishing you and your family a very special holiday season and a happy new year!
Laat me weten hoe het uitpakt!
Oh my Tigrette at the window! 🤩 Thank you for sharing your experiences of France with us! We wish you and your loved ones a wonderful rest of year and Happy New Year soon! Yikes! ❤🎉
Thanks for such an inspiring vlog. I loved the little book about the rabbit, I am sure my grandson would enjoy it. When I am in France I like the pace where people take time to enjoy lunch together, I think in the UK and perhaps else where we have lost something when it comes to meals. The French chanel looks interesting. Have a good Christmas and New year.
As always, a wonderful, calming vlog to help me slow down my thoughts for a moment. I love being able to stay connected to France / French life via your lovely channel when I am away from France back in the UK. Funnily I was only looking at my bookshelf this week at Peter Mayle's books and thinking to myself I must re-read some of them. He has a new one out about the Paris Olympics too! I'm lucky to be able to spend time with my wife's family in France to experience those things you say - although it isn't as calm as your vlogs chez eux !!
If you haven't already read it, I highly recommend the book, "Waking Up in Paris" by Sonia Choquette. I'd say there is a lot in the book with which you can identify. Either way, I feel like you would really enjoy it. Joyeux Noël !
@@davidmiller-br4bu ? Sorry ? I answered to your "Joyeux Noël" by another "Joyeux Noël" in order to thank you, and this is how you react ? What did I do ???
@@davidmiller-br4bu Quick at scolding, but slow at explaining why you scold… That makes sense, since you realized you made a mistake, and that it is more difficult to apologize than to remain silent. No, dear David, I did not "correct" you (as you supposed I did, didn't you ? I finally got it while trying to find a meaning at your strange reply) because you did not use the "¨" on the "e" of Noël. Why would I have done such a thing to someone who had made the effort of writing in French ? I was just thanking you and wishing you a merry Christmas. Despite your rudeness, I don't regret that I thanked you, and I can't blame you for your education : you are not responsible for it. Merry Christmas !
ISO love your channel. Making it so slow paced really is quite refreshing and enjoyable. Looking forward to your next year videos. Wishing you and your family a very happy Christmas and a healthy New Year.
Lovely video, everyone would benefit from slowing down and picking up a book or two. If you haven't checked out the Bruno, Chief of Police series of books, it would be worth it. Written by Martin Walker and set in a small village in the south of France, the whole series is extremely well done and enjoyable... and centered around the foods of the region. I've found them to be a wonderful addition to my Peter Mayle books! Happy New Year to you and your family. I look forward to enjoying more of your videos in 2024.
Oh, I so resonated with this Marloes. I have always read books like this. Haven't read any of Francois Bourdin's .look forward to finding them. Chocolat etc (Joanne Trollope) are also lovely. Thanx for the other tips too and the bread.
Great idea Marloes, and we already follow that trend somewhat. We often have Sunday soup with buns and dutch cheese and currant buns with family and friends. Echt Hollandse. Our parents immigrated to Canada in the 50s. We were born here. After lunch, some time outdoors, walking or tobogganing depending on the season! Have a blessed Christmas and a healthy and happy New Year! Looking forward to more of your beautiful and relaxing videos. 😃👋🎄❄🇨🇦
We just love your cat! Thanks for sharing all your ideas on bringing France into our home. Even though we live between Italy and France we enjoyed them all. We look forward to checking out the France Channel streaming service. Honestly we're so sick and tiered of some other French lifestyle You Tube channels which offer viewers so little authenticity, exaggerate their content, endlessly rave on about how "AMAZING", everything is and exist to simply raise funds from Patrons ;-) Many thanks for your wonderful story telling this year and best wishes for 2024. Joyeux noël Maria et Rowan
Thank you so much for your support! When you’re not in the US you can use 10019 ZIP code and New York as the state where you need to enter your billing address. Enjoy!
Thank you for the tips to make our lives a little more refined. I am of French and Dutch descent on both sides (but my family has been living in Africa for 370 years) and I marvel at seeing the beauty and traditions of the "homeland". I also loved seeing your cat making your house a home, as they do all over the world. Geseende Kersfees!
I think I put a zip code I knew… but I have just asked them and they told me to tell you to use 10019 ZIP code and New York as the state and it should work!
Every video is different! I am not paid to make this video as I stated. Please also do realize that content creators like me put a lot of time in creating videos and that time needs to be available (meaning I can’t spend time on my business during the hours I work on creating videos) and also making videos takes financial investments. One way to support your favorite content creators is by embracing the sponsored content and just waiting a few seconds when advertisements show up during the video. It is our way to make a little money to pay for expenses and to get rewarded for the work we put in. I understand you prefer quiet videos and this one has a lot of talking. But I honestly loved this discovery and wanted to share as I think many will love it as well. Although I mostly read you’re not criticizing but are sharing with me what you prefer to see on this channel and I appreciate that. Thank you!
Marloes. Love the video especially the bread making but will definitely look at the France Channel. Wanted you to know I got my cookbook and will start next week with the baguette recipe. I also purchased a scale to use. I am at the very beginning of the book reading all of your notes and background. Well done on the book. We hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas. Happy New Year. Cindy.
Thank you for these suggestions, I always enjoy the the videos at your home and others that you visit. Douceur, yes. the France Channel looks interesting.
THANK YOU! I was sitting before a nice fire and going through your magnificent cookbook when I thought I would check in on this channel. I have been so busy entertaining that it is now that I can really begin enjoying the beauty of the Christmas Season. SOOOO, I saw this channel you were watching the Culinary Journey on and went to the site. I am in the U.S., so I signed up. I do not speak French, so the subtitles help. I am enamored with this series and look forward to watching others. What a treat!!!!
What a beautiful vlog! Loved the Chapel in the Chateau. Your recommendations about France Channel are so appreciated! I hope we can access it in South Africa. At this time of the year the longing for my French roots is deep. Wishing you a joyful Christmas and many blessings for 2024!
Thanks! You can use 10019 ZIP code and New York as the state where you need to put in your billing address and I use a VPN service so I can watch it from France.
Wow, that chapel room was magical, love your festive bread, loved the whole video. Merry Christmas to you, your family and all fellow Chanel followers 🎄📚🥐🇫🇷🧑🎄
