Hope you found this first video useful! I'll be dropping another video tomorrow showing how to use Restream to stream your Zoom calls to multiple platforms
Hey Alex! It's Ariel (Andy's friend) we met back in 2018. I wanted to say that your videos have been such a life-saver, I binged all of the Atem Mini videos and I recently got it for home streams and also for freelance work and it's been amazing!! Thanks so much for your amazing videos and every time you keep blowing my mind more how powerful the ATEM is.
Alex kudos! You're the very first one who explains this simply. One comment though... since Feb 14, 2021 when you produced this tutorial, ReStream changed the look and all...so I'd love to have an updated guidance. :-)
This is the best solution I've seen so far. If you bring in guest at 1080p, what is the lag, if any? Even the Black Magic Streaming Bridge has up to a one second lag.
Great Video. Very helpful. One Question on the lower thirds. How do I get the lower third to show up on the side of the screen of my guest? I have a standard subscription. Is that a sufficient package to have the lower thirds to move on the guest's side of my screen? Which screen selection would I need to use to get the lower third on their side?
Nice one dude, great tutorial! I second that: Restream studios chat feature to pull individual comments on screen is so great for engagement. I use it all the time! Keep up the awesome work bud
Great resource. I have a guest on my lectures in two weeks and will check this. He is the CEO of a leading virtual events planner in Germany so I better try to do something better than just the bog standard zoom! Looking forward to tomorrow's video.
So what been trying lately is using the ATEM MINI PRO ISO and connecting it with BLACKMAGIC STREAMING BRIDGE so I can use the USB OUT to record the ISO’s and still use the ATEM MINI PRO ISO as a web cam at the same time. It’s about a 1 sec video delay but I can still use the MULTI VIEW as well. Restream studio is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Can’t wait to try it out.
I need to do some more research on Restream and Elgato. But I was wondering if you knew offhand if the Stream Deck works with the Web based Re-stream interface?
Superb way to get to know Restream and cool features they offer! I very much enjoyed watching this one. I do have some questions which spring to mind after having watched this one. For instance, what would be the noticeable stream delay for the person operating the studio when he's also participating in the stream? Am I correct in assuming that you would still need to have a separate audio conference setup between all participants in the stream, or does restream also provide a solution for this?
Alex, can you use ATEM and Restream to bring in a live guest and while that guest is talking use the ATEM to bring in B roll and/or lower thirds that are played from a device connected to the ATEM and not from restream studio?
You can use Restream to distribute RTMP streams to different targets, but not in the studio, so no remote guests with RTMP streams. I think it would be really nice if Restream would add RTMP streams as source the studio as well! That would be the perfect integration of Atem Mini and Restream!
Thanks a lot for a video! Does ATEM mini Pro can connect to Resteam via Ethernet (Atem Control) cabel (not by USB-C)? Can Restream recognize Net device without connecting USB-C cabel? I want to transfer video data directly to the network with hardware.
hi ALEX im so appreciated with your video, that helped me a lot! and I ve got a problem with the post editing I recorded a class with the atem mini pro iso, with 3 cams and 1 ppt, and 2 micphone set on the teacher and student micphones were all attached to the cam, and one of the audio channel was set up wrong to be -10dB, so the teacher's voice is too low but when i open the drp, i can only see a audio mixed with all those 2 mic channal, can i change particularly one of the audio with the pre-recorded drp, many thanks!!
I'm producing events at my church that are both live virtual and in-person and want to host virtual guests for Q&A. For the virtual viewers, I want them to see a side-by-side of both the event speaker (at the physical event) and the virtual guest much like you have demo'd here. However, for the in-person viewers, I want to display a video feed of only the guest to display on a projector at our physical event. Does RS studio have any functionality that would support this?
I asked support this question and this is the response I got: "While we are able to accommodate your request to have a host and a guest available side-by-side, we are not able to display a separate feed for your guest only. That's because whatever is being streamed out of your account is relayed to all the platforms connected and enabled for your account. Not unless your guest is physically present at your event and if that's the case, they can project their screen to a separate monitor so whatever they see is shown on that screen."
Hi Alex - really enjoying your really informative videos. Clicked through from your affiliate link to create a Restream a/c and now looking to upgrade to the Pro a/c but am not getting any discount - not sure if anyone else has had this issue? Do you have a promo code instead? Thanks
Is It ideal to bring restream into the ATEM via full stream or use the ATEM as a webcam, if u bring in the ATEM how do u switch from ATEM FEED to restream feed? It would be awesome to have the same feature as OBS where u can send over the windowed HDMI..
Can you in effect act as the "director" and feature two guests, which one of them will actually be the host? I don't want to be seen. I just want to produce and direct the show remotely between a remote host and remote guest.
With Ecamm you can go the other way. Make the interview with guests in Ecamm and then have Ecamm send the output to the Atem mini (acting as a monitor) and mix everything there. I have tried to find out how to do the same with Restream Studio, but as this is webbased there is no Output option to another monitor (Atem as monitor). I am sure you could solve this. Ecamm is Mac only, so not for me. Wish this could be done in Restream.
I’ve got a question regarding ‘remote recording and directing’ with Atem and Restream Studio. My situation: Until now we have recorded 100+ video’s for instructions. Works perfectly with my Atem mini pro. The specialist sits in front of a greenscreen, using PPT an as a director, I combine these two. Nothing fancy: the speaker is located in the left side of the screen and de content is shown on the right side. Looking like a news broadcast. I am recording all with OBS. Now here is the thing: For the recording sessions I have to drive up 150km and back with my gear. Is it possible to combine the Atem and Restream Studio to get the same broadcast setting and that I combine and record the speaker and his PPT locally here at my house, so remote? It would save us a lot of travel time and it would decrease production time largely...
Hey Merlin, Restream studio does allow a remote guest to share both their camera feed and their desktop (including powerpoint). So yes, I see no reason why you couldn't do this remotely through studio. Do some testing before you do it for real, but it should save you a lot of time on the road ;)
Last time I tried this setup on Restream I found serious issues with audio sync. Had to do a lot of post edit. I was using an ATEM MINI as the camera and audio input.
Interesting, I've never experienced any audio sync issue myself. Did you record locally on the ATEM Mini too, to see if the sync issue was introduced by the ATEM or Restream?
@@AlexPettitt Unfortunately I only streamed live. I may have to give the Studio another try. I use the restream part on a regular basis and that works great. Issue was only with the Studio.
The issue I have with this is the audio feed the guest receives of the stream is awful. If I'm playing a music bed that I want us to talk over it sounds like 96kbp mp3 and when they speak it ducks the audio and sounds like it's being passed through some weird bit crusher
