I’ve always felt stressed painting birds because they never turn out perfectly realistic. I almost gave up part way through this painting’s ugly stage but when I added the eyes, beaks and some detail I love how it turned out. Thanks, Diane, for your constant inspiration and encouragement! Hi Marie and thanks very much for your feedback! We all try too hard to make them look realistic and nobody ever really succeeds - even the very best painters can’t capture the true reality of a bird - so I think it’s altogether more rational to go for afun result! Glad you were pleased with yours!

Hi Diane, I’ve binge watched your videos all of the time and I love them all! I just watched a disturbing video that you posted about eight months ago that I’m only catching now. It was about AI and how it is impacting the art community on RU-vid. I’m very saddened to hear how it has effected you and another favourite artist of mine, Ellen Crimini Trent. I wanted to let you know that although I may not be a paying member due to some financial situation’s in my household, I am a true follower and watch your videos daily, like, and save them. I wanted to let you know that I fully support your channel and I’m going to test a theory for the next week and maybe you can let us all know how it works… And maybe others can try this as well. Because I have two TVs that are connected to RU-vid, I’m going to go to your channel and let it run every night throughout the night while I sleep. Alison that is a brilliant idea and it would be great if others did the same or similar. I know some ladies have said that they put our channel on and let it run for hours in the background just so we get the viewership time and that is wonderful. It’s obviously helping, as the channel is doing well, growing slowly but steadily, which is what we want, and providing us with stability which is want we all need. It seems that there will always (hopefully) be a desire amongst humans for human experiences shared and that people will hopefully learn to know the difference between real and fake, and maybe there is even an attempt amongst the powers that be to regulate the use of AI. It certainly needs regulation. At the moment nothing is guaranteed to be true if you see it online, and that’s alarming! But I am sure we will survive and even thrive, thanks to supporters like yourself and believe me both I and Tamsin are truly deeply grateful to you for your kind support (and what you are doing is far more valuable than a financial contribution !!) so sending you love and best wishes from both of us and HAPPY PAINTING xxx Diane xxx

This is one of my favorite bird paintings! They look tropical and remind me of a couple of vacations in Mexico and in the Bahamas…feeding the birds while having lunch on a hotel veranda! Nice memory!

Diane, nobody paints birds as happy as you do! Well, maybe they do I'm just a huge Diane Antone fan, but in my personal opinion, your sweet birds are the cutest out there. They always have their own unique expressions, character, and charm. The vibrant colors create that carefree vibe. This is a happy painting and happy is what the world needs more of now. I love seeing your happy birds feeding and singing. What a beautiful sight and sound to behold.

😊my 358 th. Last few days the temperature was headache triggering and I assume that if your painted birds where alife they where falling down the branches😅. Now it's more a wheather for the fishes with all that rain again. I almost got used to the idea of not having a "normal" summer . I really like your colorful and cheerful birds. Also uplifting is breaking the rule of realism and using blobs of color to create very eye pleasing leaves. Again thanks for your effort and sharing happiness 😊wim

That‘s good to know! There‘s no need to hesitate about using the Kuretake paints, they are very forgiving and I think you‘ll find them liberating and inspirational if you give them their head!

P.S yes, this little guy with strawberries is darling!! I think I developed the love of tiny animal people because my grandmother read the Wind in the Willows to us as small children… I actually prefer the British, Brambly Hedge series and recently bought the set!💕
