Bringing A Childhood Game To Life - Brackeys Jam Devlog 

i LOVE the 'snap out of imagination' mechanic SO MUCH it's like your experience of a videogame in microcosm, you want to keep playing and continue being immersed and the punishment for failing something is the breaking of that immersion so your experience of the game is actively trying to stay in the flow - absolutely love that kind of meta-ludonarrative stuff and i'd LOVE a game that really leant into that concept

This is brilliant! The game looks really polished and you can really see how it could be expanded into a full game with the groundwork already set up:- -Moving platform rumbas -Platforms that require an extra action to change its size/shape to progress (e.g. activate a recliner) -Even add imaginary enemies (e.g. "oh no lava bats!" Or "oh no, snakes!") If you wanted to go extra, you could even throw in sibling rivals you race, platforms that disappear in the lava, or parents/'lava golems' you can't let see/catch you haha I think, aesthetically, one thing that would be cool is if you could have the tileset look different in the lava world vs the real world - like a rocks shaped like couches etc. to really accentuate the difference in reality. Brilliant game for your jam - super inspiring!

The idea of going in and out of your imagination is really cool! I saw the theme of “It is not real” said “my entry” and left. 😆 was not feeling creative that week.

This is one of the games that I think would make a good full game if you were to upgrade it. It looks like if it was given some more levels, furniture, and bug fixes, it could be really professional

this has been genuinely one of my favorite games of yours! its a little tough at first but over time you get better at the game and ugh- you could genuinely make this into a mini release game with a little polishing and it would be super fun, id certainly buy it. Awesome to see you grow in your skills I just wish you had more views as the content you're putting out in both videos and in your games are always fantastic

There was one idea i did for the game jam which I was surprised no one else did: counterfeit. I made a game where you are a manufacturer of a big company, and your company is recieving so many other products from around the globe, and your job is to throw out the counterfeit products while the conveyor is running.

You among some other Game/Art Making RU-vidrs have inspired me to try Pixel Art. I’m really enjoying it. I’m currently making just basic stuff and watching tutorials here and there and I’ve learned a lot. I’m not making anything I’d consider professional but it takes time. I’m generally happy with what I’ve made and I just wanted to thank you for the great content as well!

Such an amazing concept

I gotta say, I know it's not the most original idea ever (though it's far from common!), but your concept of having the player just in the game even in the main menu is so well done. Even before you added polish, as soon as I saw that part of the game, I was hooked.

Vimlark, I played this game some time ago, didn't know you haven't made a video about it! I like the gameplay, the acceleration is a little bit off though.

If you can only get back on platforms with bounce pads, it would make more sense to only have the roomba move when you're on the carpet, so you don't have to reprogram the movement, and because the character could imagine that the roomba is broken

boss idea: bird, you dodge it and if you get hit by it or touch the lava you imagination breaks - and the bird disappears.

I thought the lava disappearing was a very innovative idea, so I was a little surprised, that it got the worst rating in innovation, but I havn't seen the other projects for contrast, so I assume, it was because the game is "just a simple platformer".

the game is hard

If I were to give one criticism it would be that the character looks like they’re constantly sitting down in a chair and trying to run. It’s not a bad thing though the game is super creative and I want to play it at some point!

I feel like the camera is too zoomed in. Can't plan your steps on the go. I think jump and distances between objects should be more modest, this way sprites will still be big enough to be pleasant to look at.
