Bringing Back The FEEL'S Widebody Civic For One-Time Only...

After the great response I got from shooting LJ Garcia's old FEEL'S Widebody Civic for Meguiar's, I decided that it would be a really cool idea to try to bring it out for an appearance at Wekfest Los Angeles. I had no idea it would garner such a huge public response from the automotive community so what better way to celebrate that than by giving everyone the opportunity to see the Civic themselves? It's so crazy that this Civic is still mostly complete on the outside and I was even able to source some more of the original pieces for it. Follow along as I prep the car for it's one -time only, first-ever appearance in the 2020s. I don't know what will happen to the car after, but I feel great knowing I contributed to helping it come back together, even for a little bit.
I decided to upload this episode on the same day as the Wekfest LA event for those of you who can't make it out in-person to see it. It's been an incredibly fun adventure getting this car together again. I can't wait for you guys to see it either at the show or in this special episode. Enjoy!

This is something the entire tuning community should be present for. I was so incredibly happy when i heard this car was still in existence. Now it's going back to the show circuit 15 years later. When he said it doesn't compare to cars now i fully disagree. This thing had a impact like no other tuner car before and after it. I hope it gets the full restoration it deserves.

If I was LJ, I’d buy it back and document the resurrection. Hopefully he understands and see the nostalgia of it. how it inspired so many tuners at that time which evolved to today.

Just bought a wings west commando wing for my hatchback… I got a crazy deal for one brand new with the third break light So far the only video on RU-vid that I’ve seen the wing in is this… maybe I’ll do a quick video on it

Bought my 99 EK new from Cerritos Honda Helped Carcraft with interiors - RJs NSX. etc When I started everyone was doing two tones - but one guy did an Sr20 sentra in all red inside.....I did my Silver EK interior in all Blue - wrapped the panels/seats/doors myself.....USDM B18C5 swap from Steve at HMO .....I distinctly remember the awe I felt seeing LJs car - the blue paint, the huge 3 piece wheels, the swap.....his smurf blue EG he did before was good - but this EK was next level money in 99/00 Thank you for taking me back to my teen years, working on cars like this and wishing I had the money to build to this level. Truly one of the turning points of JDM fusing with USDM SoCal culture. Your vids have helped me to plan a trip to Osaka. The vibe I get watching them remind me of the late 90s SoCal Honda scene. Keep up the great work - thank you!

It makes me so happy to see this car getting some exposure again and the momentum around it building. I truly hope it can find a caretaker to restore it to its former glory so that it can then be kept and shown in its full glory as the piece of history that it is. I've recently been watching some of the videos produced by Hagerty covering cars inducted into the National Historic Vehicle Register, and some incredible hot rods and customs have been archived due to their cultural significance. I can't help but feel this car deserves its own form of permanent preservation for what it represents in "our" world, and you have done a tremendous job covering so much of it already.

god damn this hits right in the feels, no pun intended. had the chance to hangout with LJ, RJ deVera and Jeri Lee back in the mid to late 2000s when they flew out to the PH for the Stylin' Extreme show. those were some good times man. I showed LJ a die-cast version of his yellow Feel's EK. i thought I was gonna' get it signed, like how I got RJ to sign a die-cast version of RO_JA Integra. turns out the company that made the die-cast never asked LJ's permission to use his EK. out of respect to LJ, I chucked the car back into my bag. he did sign the Turbo Magazine book that featured his EG and the Super Street issue with the yellow EK.

I have the same Civic Feel’s widebody civic with Glow in the Dark paint. Used to represent for LJ Garcia here in Chicago for Audiobahn. LJ is/was the legend.

WoW!....I remember this Feelz Civic Hatch. It was a dope build back then and if it's brought back to life it would be that dope build all over again so many years later. Also it's good to have builds like this brought back out again especially such a significant build as this Yellow Feelz Ek Civic Hatch. Krazy how time changes things and how we perceive things.

I still have these issues of Import tuner in my collection. I'm really enjoying the way this car is being treated as it was a product of its era. Even back in the day, we called it rice but cars like this stood out like a Disney character passing a silhouette test.

I feel like I should be more nostalgic for this car, and cars like it, but sadly I'm not. I think we peaked at the "lets do JDM conversions" era and just try to have a clean simple car, instead of a wild show car. However I think if the wheels were a bit smaller, like 16-17"s maybe that'd change my opinion on the car. Either way, it is a bit of a time capsule car - and I like that. But I can say, I'm not in love with it. And I forgot all about air cylinders. What a awful ride they provided. lol

I speak from Brazil, that's why my terrible English, I've been with you for years and I've never said anything like that, but this yellow EK woke me up, I like your content because you value this love for this Honda brand/culture from tuning to kanjo to stance etc etc... it makes me happy and shows how versatile these cars we love are, i have a gd3 fit that comes out of the civics and accords box but it's a great car with potential

The “lore” of this is being made by you. It was all conjecture and here say now you are defining its story for the future. Long ago we all had this hobby, pure and sweet, it peaked and here is one example of the most iconic of its era, and beyond. This takes me back, it’s one of the most amazing builds of the tuning scene full stop. Your preservation of its story is absolutely incredible, I’m all emotional about it. Nice! 🤘🔥😎🔥🤘
