It would be a huge disservice if there isn't an artbook of this at some point. All of the costumes have been gorgeous and the care and detail in them has been obvious from the first episode. Love these behind the scenes from the different departments. I hope we eventually get into hair and makeup as well as the sound crew.
The costumes have been a highlight of season 1 for me as a long time book fan. Keep up the great work! I love all the attention to detail. For example, the sunbursts worked into Valda's leather belt.
The costumes are stunning, please continue to make these behind the scenes clips so we can truly appreciate all the details. Bravo to the amazing talented artists involved.
When I watched this series I just had to draw their clothes, especially Moiraine's, because it looked so powerful and beautiful! It's nice to know that there were a lot of research and inspiration going on, and I'm excited for the next seasons when see more of the other worlds/cultures.
Maybe half of the text in Wheel of Time is Robert Jordan describing cultures and clothing. It's amazing to see such detail go into bringing us these amazing designs.
I am loving the costumes in this series! Bright & beautiful. I can't wait to see the Wise Ones & the Seanchen. Even though I have been imagining this world for years I know I'll be blown away.❤❤❤
Thank you for having these behind the scenes sort of videos. The level of detail and craftsmanship that has gone into the costumes is amazing! I agree with other comments about a future exhibit. Or maybe have longer, more in-depth videos about the creation of the costumes for each country!
The COSTUMES have been the best part of this series by far!!! And listening to the designers and makers show that they got the differences in the cultures spot on... shame they didn't do that with the casting...I too would love to see and exhibition of them.
These are some of the most beautiful costumes I've ever seen in a show or movie! Each time I watch an episode I end up pausing to screenshot an outfit for design inspiration. Amazing work!
Thank you for a great work. Robert Jordan always cared about costumes and neat details of different cultures, and I was happy such a great design and implementation in the show.
This was amazing, thank you! All the details and cultural impact, and keeping with the spirit of the books - it's incredibly amazing. But those videos really are criminally short, we need MORE! :D Like, I need to know all about Rand's knit sweater and more about Moraine's White Tower dress, and oh please, just more!
Amount of work and some of the costumes and ideas behind them are astonishing. Yet people from two rivers seemed to me a little bizarre and out of place if it is about costumes. I think they look like modern versions of something from ages ago. Rands sweater or blu shirt look like that. On the other hand, that may be the point since it's world "reincarnated".
Stunningly beautiful. Love Moiraines costumes and many others. Too bad Amazon spent 80 million dollars on 8 episodes of which 78 million appears to have gone for sets, costumes and special affects and 2 million for writers and actors. Just kidding, just kidding…… well not really. Lol
Unpopular opinion. I think the costumes are one of the many weak spots of the show. They might be nice designed, but everything looks brand new, even in the village in episode one. Also way to many and strong colours, which no one could make, or if, afford in a medieval world. Except you are very rich, which doesn't apply on anybody in the village. Combined with the toy katanas and axes, the show has the typical cheap look of tv shows like the even worse Shannara Chronicles or Shadow Hunters. If you compare it with the looks of shows like Game of Thrones, The Last Kingdom, Kingdom or even The Witcher, it just don't looks good.
The books give a VAST amount of detail of the clothing people wear and honestly, nothing from the show feels true to what was described. Seems like the designers were just told "okay Sheinar = Japan" and they just go from there... Were they not given passages from the books describing the clothing? It doesn't seem like it
A few good constumes do not make up for the worst adaptation of one of the best series of books ever written, not one single character is anything like the books
So far I'm a little disappointed in the costumes, ESPECIALLY the Aes Sedai. In the books they wore beautiful dresses but in the show they all wear the same thing just different colors. So disappointed
Pity the entire script is an abomination and a butchering of Jordan's vision and storyline. The best thing would be this mess to be dropped by Amazon and not waste anymore funding on it. Maybe in the future someone can actually make a Wheel of Time show and not some zombie "Rafe Judkins' version of WoT".
Ignore this troll. 13 more seasons of this please. Ratings prove that the vast majority love this show. Whiners tried to review bomb it and it was STILL #1.
@@Aethelia Another Judkins fanboi who hasn't read the novels and will accept crap script, narrative and 1990s CGI, in order to see a love triangle and another horrible fantasy series adaptation. It won't get past a 3rd or 4th series... you enjoy
Ask any one who know this books, What Amazon done to WoT will forever be remember as the worst butchery done to a masterpiece series ,that originally promote friendship ,bravery, duty , selfless sacrifice for others and hope for better tomorrow. Turning in to pile of sheet. That what you get if casting depends on ideology and how much you hate Trump .It is good that this travesty ends with the first season. I wonder how many other people refuse to sponsor such twisted undertaking and cancel their Amazon subscription . Likely every one who read those books
Episode 8 was a flop. I totally understand changing green man but it was lazy writing and the Trollocs looked like a ps2 game graphics. Wish you would have took another year to figure it out. Rand did nothing. He channeled some nobody and what ewgene bringing nynaeve back from the dead. Why? If nobody stays dead there is no point. They aren’t special. And where’s nynaeve block. So many complaints about episode 8. You broke the wheel….
IYI = intellectuals yet idiots describes the Amazon WOT team. Clueless to what their audience wants. A small minority of women care about the dresses etc. how about focusing on what people want? The void, the bow and arrow, relationships with the blade. That’s what people want!!
You can't compare The Witcher season 2 to the Wheel of Time season 1. That just isn't fair. If you compare the Witcher season 1 and WoT season 1 the Wheel of Time looks WAY better. Remember the ballsack armor? That CGI dragon? The Witcher season 1 was ROUGH.
Unfortunately true. Not so much for the cgi, but the costumes and especially the lighting remind me of Xena. It wasn't that bad in episode 7 though. Hope dies last :)
