Here at my little cottage in the Hudson Valley, I've been slowly putting together the Pinterest garden of my dreams! Now that fall is here, I finally finished a rustic picnic table area to use with bonfires this fall season. I can't wait to invite friends over to share a meal in this cozy space. It's amazing how twinkle lights can make everything look beautiful!

Kate, you always inspiring me on days when I feel the "lowest." To me, your garden, your home, your little Charlie, and your life in general are pretty darned charming! I want to learn to play my piano so badly, but there is no soundproofing between me and my neighbors on both sides, so here it sits, just being a regular piece of furniture. I didn't know the extent of the "sound travel" when I bought my piano....or when I moved in 5 years ago. I love your little boho shorts! Like you, I mourn the onset of Winter. It's a very difficult time for me, because I connect so deeply with nature. I do my best to soak in every aspect of color and life before it wains for the year. I'm constantly out taking pictures, trying to capture the beauty! I hope you get some good rain in the Hudson Valley!! Enjoy those nature walks. :-)

So agree with you. Can you sell the piano and get an electric keyboard…you use earphones with it so no neighbors get aggravated? It p’s easy to move, and takes up far less room, and can stow away behind a couch, etc.

I love your garden, and your picnic table is so cute. It's very inviting. I understand the bit about not playing the piano, after you lost your dad. I lost my dad in June of this year and just when I think I'm okay, I'll run into someone else who knew him, and they will tell me what a kind and lovely man he was, and I get all teary eyed again. He was a kind and lovely man and touched so many lives. I learned so much more about him, while going through his things, that I never knew. He was not a bragging sort of guy, so many things just went by, unnoticed. This kind of moment in life is different for each of us. I am glad you are trying to go back to playing your piano. Maybe it will help you as you go through this difficult time.

Music has always been therapy to me but when I lost my parents so close together, I lost it. It took me months to be able to even listen to it again. Such a beautiful garden/picnic table. The morning glories are stunning in color. Little Charlie is so funny, I was laughing at how he was eating that green bean!! Such a wonderful companion, love animals. Here in Eastern Massachusetts we had almost 2 weeks no rain. We just finished a 2 day storm. Went from high 80's to low 60's. Hi Kate, it was such a lovely surprise to come back from my walk and find your video. 🤗💕The colours are changing here in Northern England. It has been warm by our standards, especially in the classroom but not quite like the Hudson Valley! We've had drizzle and back to school September colds, (inevitable working with little people). 😂 I am glad you are playing the piano again, grief is a process and the body and mind heal in their own time. I know you played to your father and it was a way of reaching out to him. I'm sure you will shed some tears while playing but that is cathartic. 💕 As usual, I so enjoyed your video. Beautiful filming, stunning. Your garden looks amazing and I love the rustic picnic bench, so simple but really clever, you have a good eye. Charlie was on top form in the cute department. Your jean shorts were really cute, I love baggy, I hate clothes that 'dig in' . The wide legged and boot cut jeans have come back here, throwback to the 90s and 2000s my heyday! I love your cabin in the woods. What you did to decorate your table area is a very special addition to your garden. Many years ago I wanted to have one of her birthday parties in our woods with picnic table and lights and balloons and decorations but was never able to do it. What you did reminds me. Wow Kate, it looks absolutely gorgeous. Your vision for your fall table is wonderful. I am so pleased for you that you can now play your piano again after such a long break. We all deal with Bereavement differently, my brother passed away a year ago and I spent lots of time in my Stitchcraft Study creating lots of sewing projects. This helped me to make sense of everything that happened to him. You never get over losing someone you love but day by day it helped me by sewing. XX

Yay!!! Fall is here! 🍂 I'm so happy! I survived another summer. Bye, bye summer. You won't be missed! I know that some of you love the hot weather, but i truly, really don't! Your picnic table looks really nice. I love it. We go thru stages after we lose someone we love. I'm sorry about your loss. My dad passed 4 years ago, and my mom 4 weeks ago. It's hard. But you play beautifully. Hopefully you will keep practicing and you will find joy doing it.

Sooo cute Kate! I live in the Florida Keys and envy your four seasons. Its just sunny and hot here all year long. Even in winter, it never gets cold enough to really enjoy dressing in all of the fun cozy clothing like you do in New York. First day of fall is my favorite. We are still in a fire ban till the end of month n it’s killing me because the weather has been the perfect coolness in evenings and even today the crispy morning is missing that warmth that only coffee can provide now till fire time. Hi Kate. Love the video. I understand about the heat. In Texas, it is still in the 90s! Since it's so hot and dry, I put articical fall plants out. I know it's cheating, lol, but it looks pretty for the time. I am hoping for rain as fall starts. It's so dry! I really hope you get rain because of your well needing to be filled! Charlie is such a joy to watch! He makes me laugh! You scored BIG at Goodwill. Love the crystal vase! There are so many uses! You can even make it into a candle. The boho shorts are adorable! Oversize swesters are the thing now. I'm like you, I want my clothes comfy! I am so sorry about your Dad's passing. Put little momentous of him in your cottage. My son passed away unexpectantly in March of this year! It has helped me to place little pictures and momentous of him. As I sit here in my recliner with a sleeping cat in my lap that won't let me get up, I am so grateful for your video. I love your garden and your cottage. I can make a suggestion regarding the dry well situation. The owners of the land on which your cottage sits, should simply have a deeper well drilled. They really should do that to keep their tenants from running out of water. Anyway, Your video has helped to make a wonderful start to Fall. Thank you.
