@@AudibleVisibIe he's the only person I've ever heard call a vehicle "woods beater" and cry the entire time they look at or drive it. It's meant to be in shambles. Barely together enough to drive but together enough to have a blast. He sounds like a tesla owner that doesn't work on cars driving a vw tdi with 350k miles on it.
honestly with some a little bit more work mostly on safety stuff like actually mounting the seats and fixing the throttle cable and little maintenance it would be a cool offroad toy. would love to see more content with it hopefully including fixing some stuff so its not so sketchy
It took way too long for me to find this comment, in what world is it cool to throw something like that out the window? I hope they went back and grabbed it afterwards.
It went everywhere you wanted in rwd. I'm no jeep fan, but it's obviously a fairly capable 4wd. But mate it's a crawler not a trophy truck, just Cruise it bro.
@@jmanownz985 lol everyone talking about how this thing would be better in the woods than the forester but I tend to disagree. Especially since 4wd doesn’t even work lol
You beat on any truck off road and it’s gonna be rough. As a owner of a jeep I know that they are not meant to be full sent through the trails. I put mine in 4low in 2 feet of snow and it won’t leave me stuck. Any truck will eventually break though when your beating on it
@@joeykeith3829 fr, really on the edge of no longer road worthy in its current condition. Well actually the pedal cutting out automatically makes it unworthy
It's leaf sprung of course it's stiff lol. They are great trail rigs you just need to put some work in. You probably would have broke the Forrester already.
@@guinnessmon1970 oh yeah I didn't even put two and two together. Some people can make it survive but rodknock would blow a 35 by sneezing near it. Inb4 next video blew the (open) rear diff.
dude, rebuild that jeep. it doesn't have to be top notch quality..just make it "reliable" and have fun with it. just make it so it's not such a Clapper and you know what's what. and definitely axle swap and get rid or those leaf springs..those are for poor people. lol
If you're just going to trailer it to the trails, weld the diff, and there's a couple tricks to lock the front end engaged so you don't have to mess with the actuator, and use 4 low on the those rough trails, probably wouldn't hurt to find a transfer case shifter
Just axle swap it, throw the top away, send it on some 37s Dana 60s with lockers, and coil over suspension. I go wheeling all the time, it’s not bad if you build it right. Ps remember to air down.
They sell a cable locker for the front.. it replaces the vacuum line with an actual cable that you put inside the jeep and just pull the cable to engage the front diff
Please don't sell it Chris just put some time and effort into it like everything else and nothing will be so sick you have so much fun especially being back in Connecticut
Ah yes the pros over here who cares its not the right way its a pos jeep i would be ripping it fast af too its fun sure it will break but who gives a fuck... Although safety is questionable lol
He had an xj for a week. It was sweet til he blew the stock length front brake lines i told him he was going to blow. Left it in the woods and got impounded.
@@sideshow45 wranglers are different, I’ve had 2 ZJs, an XJ and a TJ, one ZJ is my daily and the TJ sits for the right opportunity. Wranglers are just in a different realm from any other vehicle
@@bailey7067 He can put up to $5K and he will still be able to sell it for $7k - roughly $9k maybe even $10K. Bro Jeeps hold their value especially with the straight 4 or straight 6. My brothers went for $5,500 and 2 body mounts were rotten to almost gone. Crazy!
Dissapointed in how the Wrangler performed?!?1?1 It took you everywhere you made it go. You don't want a Jeep you want a SidexSide if you want to go fast and hit jumps.
@@hitmixhyepock9405 no mate it's because of the jeep 4WD wasn't even engaging throttle control would get un hooked and window had shit all over it could barely see outb
Chris, those tires are fine to mob around off-road. Just lower the tire pressure to 8- 10 psi or so. Especially because you are trailering it to the trail, you won't have to worry about filling them back up to 25-30 psi to drive on paved streets. It will make the word of difference in performance. Just ask Desante
Some considered driving, correct tyre pressure and 4wd it would go awesome. This would make a cool project for the Chanel. Suspension, Tyers and LS with an auto and lockers.
It's for sure a jalopy, but how it handled those trails in 2WD is sick tbh. Older Jeeps are easier to work on too. Clean it up good with some power washing and degreaser and see what ya got!
That’s a real off-road vehicle it will never be a smooth ride man ! That thing is mint ! Invest some money in it and it will be a great off road toy. By the way we want to see you go back and pick that speaker that got tossed into the trail and left 🤦🏻♂️
What year is that YJ? That in-line fuel pump could mean that it used to be a carbureted 4.2, but the previous owner probably swapped it out for a fuel injected 4.0 which could explain the terrible wiring and the gauges not working.
Definitely pissed me off watching you flying down the trail. People driving normal on the trail still hit other people on bikes and it never turn out good for the people on bikes.
Lmao dude has no idea how to take it easy on a trail, I don't think the Forester woulda survived lmao. Also they sell aluminum bodies you can put on and make it legit with a good wiring harness and levers for 4wd and whatnot since the actual chassis itself isn't terrible.
When you're off-roading you're not supposed to floor it all the time lol. You need to learn how to let the 4 wheel drive do the work, like putting it on four low and letting it crawl.
definitely more value there than the forester. you said you had $500 total in the forester. that hard top is worth $800-$1000, the full doors are worth around 300 if theyre in good shape, i think i saw half doors in the back in the last video, those are worth 3-400 judging by the "sport" roll bar (slanted back down bars compared to the "family" roll bar") its an older YJ that came with a carburetor. they put in a fuel injected engine and just laid the whole wiring harness on the engine lol. it definitely needs work, but its definitely not a TON, and its worth it to put the work in. look for people parting out jeeps. you can get a lot of parts for cheap from people parting out rusted out jeeps. and Id throw that dana 35 rear end away before you put ANY money into it. theyre trash. get a ford 8.8 lsd disc brake from the junkyard and put it in. weld the front diff and get a cable actuator to replace the vacuum acuator. open diffs make a jeep useless. locked diffs are the BIGGEST upgrade you can do to an offroad truck. and for the love of god put that thing in 4 low. trying to crawl in 2 high is never going to end well haha
For being the worst...least you drove it home though !! and it lasted the drive you did on er HAHA Cheers from Flint Mi love the content !! and KEEP THE JEEP MAN!! update it alittle and you will have an AWESOME driver forsure
You driving this thing brings me back to the video of the OLD shop when Tommy had his lifted jeep and was trying to go off the loading bay with it. That shop had a lot of good videos.
I'd definitely like to see ya try fixing some of the jank, maybe give it a good wash, including the engine bay, and re-run all the ghetto wiring in a less shit way. You should be good if you just get 4WD to work but it'd be nice to make it a bit more reliable, would probably be able to sell it for more too.
Anyone else lowkey really liking the wrangler content 🤣 Ruddy you should have Desanti fix the little things this rig needs and do a bunch of content with him fixing it/off-roading 🤘🏻
I don't know why but I was laughing whenever you guys were laughing it's so hilarious watching you guys drive through the water puddles and the rocks and stuff. Honestly yeah give it another shot and put some different tires on their change spark plugs fix it up a little bit
FUNNY HOW MANY TIMES HE CALLED IT A PIECE OF SHIT BUT NOT ONE TIME DID IT STOP RUNNING AND OVER HEAT AND NOTHING BROKE AS HE WAS RALLY CROSSING BIGASS ROCKS
