@@djguzzy6339 I’ve seen worse I’ve seen people use ratchet straps as belts for the alternator and water pump. That jeep he has can be a good ass off road vehicle whenever he decides to put it in 4 low
Brendan is such a wholesome person. I hope he stays with them and stays out the house. I think if he sticks with ruddy and Willy that his personality is really gonna pop compared to the first video.
Rudd you should usually air down, wheel with others with at least one winch amongst y’all and have recovery straps. kinetic straps like Yankum are highly recommended. Off roading takes a little time to get good at it. If your struggling to get up a hill use low range. It all comes with experience because each vehicle has different ways to know what power or gear to use in each scenario.
@@firstname6432 yup! That thing is really a beast waiting to be unleashed once the operator learns how to use it. I had a 95 with the 2.5 4 cyl 5 speed on 4 inch lift 31’s locked rear and it went just about anywhere I wanted it to no issues. Really is just learning the vehicle and approach/departure angles and figuring out throttle play
Sadly this thing doesn’t have low range lol. It’s locked in either 2wd or 4wd. The 4wd drive stuff is all messed up. He rigged it up and bought that new unit just to engage the 4wd. But the 4wd shifter is broke and can’t really move it unless he has tools 😅
2 things that will improve this by a million percent-- air down the tires, and put it in low range. you are going to destroy that clutch if you leave it in high range. thats why you are having such a terrible time offroad with a manual transmission.
You need to use 4 low if you want that clutch to last at all. And air down for a smoother ride and grip. Especially if you aren’t driving on the street.
keep Brendan on the channel! His attitude is extremely positive now that you’ve helped him out of what seemed like a dark place. true friend right there
@@kvann95 he is high for sure, but he not used to 4wd low gear the forester 4wd life... that has no low 4wd or anything if i remember right... so he just doenst know i guess
Manual is fine as low as you use low range, people have been driving manuals off road since cars were invented, even if you had an automatic you should use 4 low on that trail, honestly watching you go out there in 4 high was genuinely infuriating 😂
It’s awesome to see brenden happy and enjoying being around you guys. If you’re an OG you’ll remember that brenden was shy and kinda forced to be in the shadows. It’s so awesome to see the content, keep it up!!!
@@sideshow45 absolutely. I wonder if it was originally an auto before whoever cobbled that thing together. Could be 3:07 in there. Definitely wouldn’t help but nothing 4lo won’t fix. I can count on one hand the times I’ve used lo with a 4.0 ax15 4.10s on 33s.
@@nicholasmartino967 4.10s do help that’s what my yj had and it went literally anywhere in 4 lo on 33s and I could let the clutch out 1st and second with hardly any throttle on fairly flat ground. Thing was geared so well honestly could let the clutch out with no gas sometimes.
@@grantabrams9138 4 low is made for climbing. i guess the transfer case in that jeep he has doesn’t have a shifter but i’m sure there is a way he can manually shift it into 4 low and leave it. that thing will climb a walk in 4 low and no clutch is needed 🤣
@@Ashton_Lackey yes there is a way to manually shift it just a lil dangerous up under the jeep but something could be rigged and yup right on the no clutch needed. My lil 4 cyl yj used to crawl 1-3 really with no clutch unless super steep inclines
You definitely wanna put it in 4low when you're wheelin. It's basically gonna drive itself it's pretty impressive. I use to have a TJ for the woods, you just have to let it crawl on those big obstacle. keep up the good work the CT content's lit.
4wd vehicles crow hop when turning around in 4wd since there's no slip, it's not rubbing. Honestly the jeep is junk, pick up an auto xj they're plentiful.
To make it ride smoother, AIR DOWN!!! and take out the sway bars if they're still there, and take out the track bars if they're still there. And for the love of God put it in 4 low like every other comment says 🤣
Ruddys like fuck man this feels familiar green vehicle, lots of trees and other flammable shit in the woods, but to top it off sees the clutch smoking he's like having flashbacks lmao
Trying to watch Chris go wheeling in 4 high cements the fact that this kid had absolutely zero father figure in his life. Props to him for still sending it lol
Dude you need 4lo, to get going up a hill in 4hi your really gonna smoke the clutch quickly. Also why you stall so much because you can't maintain the sped you need.
So stoked to see brendan he needs to stay in the videos it's awesome to see how happy he is from the first time you started working on his Miata to now
Glad to see brendan hanging out with you guys, hopefully it continues. I went from 4 friends in high school to 0 unless someone needs help. shit's wack but part of life.
You need to get that thing in 4 low then you wouldn't have to worry about bogging it or stalling it on those rocks and hills. Get on marketplace or call the junkyard and find you a dang shifter.
You need to shift it into 4 low my guy. Brendan seems to have some motivation now so I’m glad he is doing better and coming around. You gotta build the Jeep a bit more. Fix the wiring and get some seats.
I sure hope this type of content stays around. This is a pretty good start to what could end up being a really sick off road rig and a good learning experience along the way.
Best thing to get off work too!! Love to see brendon get less camera shy and start to work with the boys, I can imagine he’s gonna be your next employee
Same look on Rudy’s face as the time he took the bro dozer to full lock in 4wd…. That’s what happens… it sounds like it’s tearing itself apart….if you have to do a lot of hard turns it’s better to be in 2wd.
Drove a jeep for a year while saving up and swapping a good motor back into my V70R. Absolutely the most terrifying thing to drive. It had 3 body mounts that actually attached to the frame, and death wobbles were probably the second most terrifying thing I’ve ever had happen while driving. Oh yeah, death wobble at 60mph under braking… that clip at the end was just a glimpse
My wife and I just went to Jeep Adventure Academy 2 weeks ago and we went up amd down a hill way waaaayyyy steeper than that and through a river. It will teach you how to rock crawl to an extent and let you know how much your jeep can handle.
