Bringing Your Bearded Dragon Home the First Time 

I was at my friends house and he has a bearded dragon I held it and I fell in love. I did all my research. I’m now raising money to pay for it so far I have 46$ I’m going to do a lemonade stand to raise more money. My mom said when I get the money and clean the house I can get it! Thank you for that information I was all about bonding with him not knowin I was kinda bombarding him and stressing him out so I just left him in his terrarium and let him adjust to his surroundings. However he is eating well and he poops he does his business he got and appetite and I just got him a whole new home and a bigger tank for him so the last time I took him out was yesterday so I'm goin leave him in there til next Friday to see how he do and so on... I noticed I turned the lights off all of them in the house and he fell right on to sleep so that helps alot plus my house is always warm at 75 or higher cuz I get cold fast so it's always warm but this is very helpful. I've been studying these wonderful animals for years and I still learn new things everyday. I'm no stranger to the lizard world I've owned iguanas before and they more to take care of

My first one, when I bring it home. Wanted to join my hand and it slept on my hand. Later on, it continue a normal day on its tank. It was so calm that it didn’t ran away or became aggressive.

You are so right about the vet check! Stress on VETERINARY CHECKUP!!! I just left a reptile shop who’s owner told me that they were just as good as any vet to give your animals a checkup! Oh, no they aren’t! A vet is a Doctor who has been through years of schooling and possibly years of practice treating and even doing surgery on your animals. No, and I mean NO store owner has the ability or the schooling necessary to care for any animal, let alone a reptile! Were any of you aware that to become a vet who sees exotic animals like reptiles and birds needs to go to school one extra year! Don’t let anyone advise you on the health of your precious pet except a board certified veterinarian!

very helpful. my baby beardie really loved to be held from the get go as her breeder was very hands on. She started eating right away but just not that much. She clearly prefers to be hand fed her veggies right from the second day. Still working on her eating more and more from a dish.
