Jason Davenport Mainly, because when I started playing darksouls 2, It just threw me into it, I had no idea what's going on. These random women in the intro call me a hollow and I go kill shit. I didn't find it funny. It was too random for me. I stopped after like 30 mins, since I couldn't get clarity on the story.
I remember walking into a Gamestop looking forward to buying this game. I picked it out, whipped out my money, and went over to the cash register. You know what happened? The cashier all but refused to sell this game to me, telling me to save my money and pick something else. You know it is a bad game if the video game store refuses to sell it to people on a good conscious.
I bought it for about 7 bucks at a half price books, if the people who where working on this spent more time balancing the gameplay, and fixing some of the problems (the 1 level in where you escort the hostage has a hallway that completely supports the defenders in an unfair way, there aren't enough guns, not enough maps) the game could be really amazing. (the parkour was probably the best part about this game, the shooting it just ok as it takes about a full mag of bullets to put someone out of the fight)

Actually....I may or may not wanna take back what i said before. After watching him more, at least the recent contents, Joe is still the same-ish actually, i mean theres no jarring diffrence between him then and now. Its just that he got more to talk about. I really wanted to get this game, but I refused to get it because they said No girls. I wish joe poked at them about that too. In this day and age, there is getting to be more and more handcore female gamers, and the devies said fuck'em.
I felt the same way. What's the stigma against having female soldiers in these types of games? Especially if the game is going to have customizable soldiers. I'm glad we have games like Mass Effect that portray women as badass and perfectly capable soldiers. I hope there will be more like it in the future

I'm sorry but that's just an asinine argument. Of course women can be badass. As I pointed out, play Tomb Raider or Mass Effect and see for yourself. Even ignoring that aspect, there are quite a number of female gamers who probably want their gender properly represented. Also Brink is going for a fully customizable experience so why is that not an option? To a degree yeah it was an RPG. Not to the full extent but to some degree. So I hope you'll pardon me for expecting all genders and races to be equally represented in games.
Jordon Morgan Tomb Raider series had to sex up laura to even become popular in the first place, and that's where her "badassery" comes from most of the time. Also female shepard from mass effect sounds like a hard smoking gruff lesbian and just doesn't pull off the military rank quite as nicely as the male shepard who acts more natural in his role. On the topic of girls wanting to play as their gender - go play mmos. Video game industrys main target audience are guys, so either deal with playing as male characetrs, or go make your own games. (Which is a true statement since majority of game devs are guys as well)
Artyom Bogomaz I would say that I prefer playing a Male soldier in war games, though, because this is a game that's supposed to be based around customization, this should have the option to make your character a girl too.

I have the game. I like the look of it, I like how if feels to play. But it's boring as hell and the multiplayer sucks. Joe is absolutely spot on here, which is too bad because the game could have been really cool. As I said the look is nice, the setting is nice. I like how it's light and you can actually see shit. I like how it's kinda cell shaded. So a big fat missed opportunity, it could've been my UT replacement if done right.
I totally agree, the game is a really cool concept (like mirrors edge bit more focus on shooting). But the developers rushed the game and put out a piece of "meh".
Popat Panchat No, bro re-bought it on 360 direct to drive. Its what he referred to as "a floater" being pretty dead (sold 1st copy after release). Same knackered texture pop ins, terrible rubber banding lag. Huge disappointment. Save yourself some change mate.

This game had many obvious short comings but I had many experiences created from dynamic and unique situations in game that were extremely fun. While frustrating I ended up enjoying this game a lot
Brink was such a let down. I love the character designs and graphics and the promo trailers made it look excellent. I thought it had potential to be the new Team Fortress 2. however the enemy and friendly A.I is dumb, the guns feel piss weak and at launch the multiplayer was so laggy it was unplayable. Fuck this game.

This game is very much the definition of a hit and miss. I loved the story in general. You choose a side based on pretty much your own perceptions, and then you play through the Campaign. You find out through the audio logs that things are definitely not as black and white as they may seem. Security isn't exactly the pinnacle of justice and protection it claims to be with its thugs and elitists and Resistance isn't so much resistance and freedom as it is bitter extremists and guys willing to annihilate the entire Ark and everybody onboard to get what they want. That part I loved, plus the voice actors are fantastic. I wondered why the accents are so authentic, it's because they are authentic. That's NEVER the case in most video games. The overall gameplay let it down, though. Movement is clunky and difficult and the multiplayer died rather quickly. I'm glad they retconned the achievements to be completed in single player, but I really wish this game had just a little more support from every. The developers, the community... Everybody in general. it had so much going for it. :(
Destiny was an even bigger let down. they invested a ton of money, and hypes this game so much, and the game is basically poorly executed COD, with all the annoying parts of an ROG, plus a story that is basically dumbed down halo style story meets basic mystic RPG story.
