I think they did say if you ask and I forget what they said. I know you can hotswap the batteries allowing you to swap over a battery using a forklift allowing the truck to keep working.

Oh sorry David. After lunch time was when I was probably in the staff room editing a video. I did go for a walk up stairs after that looking at the accessories.

Thanks heaps. Yeah the electric is only good since town. My question is, what happens to all the battery waste once the batteries need to be replaced and how much extra resources is used to make these electric vehicles? They're is more carbon footprint making electric vehicles than people realise

@@RoadTrainAdventures That has always been my argument, the governments haven't thought it out very well. And of course, if the batteries catch fire, it takes forever to put them out!!

It's dangerous technology too. I drive the latest Mercedes 4 years ago and that was bad for breaking hard on me as it though I was going to hit the car in front when it was turning.

@@RoadTrainAdventures Yeah and they’re all bloody auto’s too.🙄 It’s funny when you look at those trucks - could you imagine what the drivers from the 70’s would say if they seen them, you’d get called every name under the sun and told your meant to be driving not watching tv.😂 Not to mention only being able to do 99kms / hr. Ah the joys of trucking in 2023.

Oh no. You haven't been in a 909. It's like walking upstairs in a house. I can do it holding a coffee in the other hand. Not to say euro trucks are bad.

You are not a truck driver if you think a euro is better.

Ha ha. Although I agree, I've spoken to a number of very experienced drivers who want to just drive something very easy in their older age so it suits them.

@@WayneCook306 doubt it dude. i drove a new 909 with a quad axle float for a month... what a piece of shit. cant see out the front, the rear mirrors vibrate, the side windows are that fucking small... we live in the 21st century and you arnt a real trucky unless you want shit that the euros have figured out 30 years ago. whats with the dash.... these stupid toggle switches that are just not intuitive euro cab overs are just superior in visability, control and comfort. and they are reliable

Well whilst the Western Star I showed was very nice I may still choose the new 909.

@@RoadTrainAdventures yes. 49X. I seen some vids of it. High driver cab.The materials looks strong and not plastic. So big sleeper. I liked the table and chairs onder the bed.lot of space.

Ha ha. I just drive for others. There were some very nice tricks but I still have to choose my 909. All these electrics would fail on dirt roads.

No good for the open highway unless you're doing short runs. It may be perfect for doing local work around the city though.

You actually can buy its a little extra work for Western Star too fit which means it will probably cost more.

@@RoadTrainAdventures yes it because my next carhauling truck was going to be a westernstar 4900 low-max. Once I heard about this truck and seen it, I knew it was trash!

No Volvo is fine for Australian highways but not so good for the outback dirt roads.

@@RoadTrainAdventures too many electro gizmos on the new trucks though, as with allvehicles nowadays, all very nice until they stop working. Highways like the Flinders and of course dirt road corrugations are always going to prove which trucks are best investment.

Remember that A Mack is just a Volvo now with a bonnet so that will have a million sensors too.
