Here we are at the first show of 2023, at the Bristol cavy club. We are not showing this time so I had more of an opportunity to actually look around, chat with friends and watch the judging.
A few close ups and explanations about what the judges are doing and why.

my three favorite breeds are himilayan, crested and long haired peruvian. The long haired piglets are a lot of work and not just because of their hair. They can be very naughty but the good news is they can also be so sweet!

Himalayans are my all time favourite too, the long haired cavies are a lot of work but very rewarding, glad you liked the video

Hello, I would highly recommend joining the national cavy club and they can put you in touch with breeders in your area, or if you are interested in a specific breed, join the breed club and they will point you in the right direction.

I would join the Bristol cavy club group on Facebook and all the information is there for each show. The committee are great and very helpful.

You state you dont see many DE cremes on the judging table. Why is that? I thought its one of the more popular self colors? Also please make sometime a breed focus video about DE whites and DE cremes maybe with comments regarding the difficulty of color breeding, so one gets an idea, in comparison to Buffs which apparently breed true colorwise. Maybe a beginner guide for total newbies in self cavies, easy colors to start with to get ones feet wet (like black and buff I assume). TYVM.

I think the reason you do not see so many might be because producing them is not easy you use, buff, white and cream and the babies are not always cream, thanks for the video suggestions, I have done videos on pink eyed creams and pink eyed whites so these should help in the mean time
