Bristol Flyover 

I’m 36 and I remember going across this daily 👌😃 ahh memories

It was second hand when installed, it was first used in Birmingham. I used it every day when I worked in Redcliffe Street.

I remember it well and it worked brilliantly! Good old days😊

I was working in Caxton House to the left of the flyover back then. The day they opened the new roundabout it was gridlock around Bristol as they had got the timing wrong on the traffic lights. The flyover was 100% more efficient than the roundabout will ever be.

I took my nephew over this: he nearly crapped himself. It was like being on a rollercoaster. That was when people in Bristol drove quite fast.

It was good of them to build a church at the end to let people get some spiritual comfort after the trauma.

Remember it well. My Dad got stuck along it once with a car problem and had to push it through.Only my father.

I was a kid when my mum or dad used to use this and I loved it! What memories this video has stirred up! Cx ❤❤❤

I remember going over this one my bike once. haha never again, that was well scary :D

The side rails are now in my cattle race so it lives on!

What a harrowing overpass!

I drove over the flyover. They should of left it there at the time as it cut a load off.

Sadly missed flyover. The only problem was getting to the left hand lane to turn left at St Mary Redcliffe.

I used to drive over it on my way to Ashton Gate.

I can remember going over this as a young child!! Maybe it would help the traffic in Bristol these days! 🤬

It should never have been taken down . it was a monument of bristol

we hardly ever went in the direction to use the flyover but did once in a while, lobed looking at it lol

Went over this in my Ford escort after turning 17 and passing my test. Was the first and last time I did that….😂😂

we could do with this being put back really. it wasnt so bad when it first got took because you could turn right by the Grosvenor Hotel, but now thats all been pedestrianised you have to drive up to Fowlers roundabout and come back round. that can add another 5 mins to your journey.

Shouldn't it be referred to as a 'drive-over' given that folk did exactly that ? Indeed, the excerpt shows a lorry driving over it - there's no evidence of wings being involved?

I used to love going over that bridge when I was a kid. They should of never got rid of it just try to make it safer traffic round thear at rush hour is a nightmare. 🌉🚙🚕🚗🚓🚑
