Bristol RE buses on 16th July 2016 at the Alton Classic Bus and Country Pub running day 

That sound brings back memories, being crammed in to an RE on the school run when you are expecting a VR! Great bit of film!

Love these buses. Rode on these a lot as a kid/ teenager, Eastern Counties, but I can't remember the engine's sound. A bit throaty aren't they!

A Gardner engine is a splendid engine, especially in an RE with a fish tail exhaust. Now imagine if the option was available to have the AEC 760 instead of a Leyland.......reckon the big AEC would have sounded nice with the aforementioned zorst 🙂

The blue bus colours remind me of taff Ely pontypridd one of the few Welsh operators that did not run r e s
