Brit Floyd performing "Animals" Side 1 of the Album from their 2013 PULSE Tour. Recorded on August 2nd, 2013 at Red Rocks Amphitheater. For more information visit www.BritFloyd.com and find us on facebook at / britfloydshow
The more I hear Dogs, the more I realize that could be Pink Floyd's ultimate masterpiece. The melodic dual guitar leads beginning at 5:44 give me goosebumps.
It's funny you say that because I'm thinking the same exact thing. I came across Brit Floyd and thought let me listen to Dogs. I love the entire Animals album. Personally, Sheep has always been my favorite song on the album even though I consider the entire album to be one long story. It amazes me how deep of a song Dogs is. There's so many layers to it. Each instrument sounds incredible and as a band, Brit Floyd, does an amazing job keeping the Pink Floyd legacy alive.
If you haven't heard it yet, check out Roger Waters' "In The Flesh" DVD which features Snowy White and Doyle Bramhall Jr. together playing this. Amazing. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_wMDb7ddSeY.html
@@SD-ir1vf I so agree...I remember writing down the lyrics on my desk in history class in High School when I was bored...Reagan won that year...and Floyd ruled with the Wall...
Veteran of 800+ concerts since 1974. I've been blessed and lucky enough to see seemingly every band from ABBA to Zappa and every band/genre in between. Name a band or solo artist and there is a great chance I've seen them live. Saw Pink Floyd during their "Momentary Lapse of Reason" tour and also the "In the Flesh" (Animals) tour. The latter being the 1 show I compare ALL my concerts too. Nothing as of June 2019, has come close to that magical night 42 years ago. June 1977, South Phillys Spectrum, Perfection in a concert is an understatement. I still get goosebumbs thinking back on that evening. This band however, even though they are advertised as a tribute band,I put them on that "Class A Level", not too be missed. The entire production puts many so called "world famous" acts to shame. If you love the music of Pink Floyd... RUN... don't walk too see them. You will not be disappointed.
@@eduardoc6441 Yes, twice during their Streetwalker and Low Budget tours. Very underrated band when it comes too "bringing it live". Wish they would do 1 more together.
Tayo Lopes that is so amazing’ I love their sleepwalker period,, I love it all! Saw Ray And Dave solo both were great! Brit Floyd I must go see as soon as I get a chance , they are excellent performers!. You are so lucky to have seen all of those great bands, keep rocking on!
@@eduardoc6441 Yes Eduardo, I was extremely lucky and blessed to have been born when I was too have an opportunity too see such great bands in concert. I never saw the Davies brothers solo tours. I heard Rays last one was fantastic. Brit Floyd is a band that is close too "flawless" when it comes to "live sound". I hope too see them again some day.
I remember hearing that riff at 5:43 in. It's the lead part that made me want to play guitar. It literally blew my mind the first time I heard it. They do one hell of a job nailing it here. The tone is spot on!!
I love Dogs, and this version makes the hair stand up on my neck. Never have I heard a more amazing version of this song!! Can't wait to see them at Hershey Pa!!
I know this is sacrilege as a guy that bought dark side of the moon. But I think it’s better. It’s not only the best tribute band I’ve ever heard but the only that I think equaled or improved the music
You gotta be crazy, you gotta have a real need...- to do such a performance! With the "Dogs" here, BRIT FLOYD proved their title once and for all - the best Tribute-band ever existed. They are not Pink Floyd successors, on contrary, they are true lovers, fans and guardians of their music, the most powerful carriers of the Pink Floyd's flame. That is why I pledge for all those who, up to now, maybe misunderstood the true meaning of the Tribute-music creation, to encourage Brit Floyd in their work, more to that - to properly guide them into a future, so that we can at least have a chance to prolong live-enjoying one of our dreams, despite the fact that Pink Floyd is an untouchable rock greatness.
Srecko Zitnik very true, seen them twice now and already booked my third ticket for next March. they're the best BAND touring right now, not just best tribute/cover band and I'm thankful they exist
I hate to say this but if you listen side by side Brit is actually better than Pink Floyd. David Gilmore is the Bomb when it comes to the ax but Brit has gelled the sound to perfection!
totalmente deacuerdo contigo Srecko, viendo el video dije aquí están los que prolongarán por mucho tiempo más a mi banda Favorita Pink Floyd, es el mejor tributo que he podido ver hasta ahora.
It pretty much sounds exactly like the album version from Animals! So good! You listen 🎶 to the original and then this, it's nearly identical. No wonder David Gilmour himself was proud of how great and talented these musicians are. Brit Floyd or Aussie Pink Floyd show as they used to be, had David's blessing and Roger Waters permission to play their songs. They've really perfected everything right down to a T. Guitars, vocals etc. David was so impressed, that one time he said "They play better than we do!" They've earned their spot as THE Pink Floyd Show or World's Greatest Pink Floyd Tribute. Echoes Of Pink Floyd are good too. But not even close to these guys!
@@jacket0519No. Actually this band is more Pink Floyd then Pink Floyd , I’ve seen BOTH Bands live, and Brit Floyd comes MUCH closer than Pink Floyd ever did to the true songs on the Albums. You can tell these boys have done their homework, put in the practice, and spare no EXPENSE!!
I am 41 and have only recently been exposed to Pink Floyd. I always knew of the songs like money, brick in the wall and comfortably numb that were released on the radio which I didn't mind. However about a year ago I heard Time. That was a masterpiece. That lead me on to the great gig in the sky, pigs, dogs, sheep, run like hell, us and them and a few others. I cant stop playing it. I even go to bed with the song in my head playing and cant turn it off. Cant complain. P.s This cover band brit floyd does an exceptional job.
I wish I would have had a smart phone about 15 years ago. My dog, Chipper Jones would sing the dog parts pretty much perfectly. It seemed like he wasn't reacting to what he was hearing but knew the parts.
Awesome... I would say perfect, it's a pleasure to watch your shows (we are a Pink Floyd tribute band, and we honestly say that at the moment you are probably the best Pink Floyd tribute worldwide). Great!
@@KevinSolano I think they PF used to perform this still with only Gilmour playing lead... in the studio he did like 4 guitar tracks.... you need more guys to do it right
I would tottaly go crazy if you guys played Dogs in the upcoming São Paulo - Brazil concert.....really, can't wait to catch the setlist! Ah....and a WARNING, as well a DISCLAIMER: brazilians tend to be crazy all the time in concerts, so expect a LOT of LOUD singing!
I have always loved this song from "Animals" and I must say after seeing this performance, I was so impressed with your take on this song. That was fantastic!!! I love this!
Aproximadamente en el minuto 7.en la vuelta a la guitarra acustica y coincidiendo con los ladridos del perro es sublime, espectacular. Esta obra nunca pierde el hilo.
I've gotta admire Damian Darlington, for this amazing band. Without his hard work & vision/dedication, there likely wouldn't have been a Brit Floyd. BUT, there's always a BUT.I wish he could've kept this version of the band together. Bobby's just...amazing. Ola's always been...Ola. Saw them without the two, still great....Just...not the same...:-)
Man..... That's a Great Band, Brit Floyd So Beautiful, you "ALL" would make Pink Floyd Stand for an ovation and say, "Bravo, Bravo, Wish I was there...... :-)
Great version......I left the corporate world 20 years ago due to what is behind this song......I could have been a millionaire but instead laugh at the fools still in the game...ha ha ha you fools......
I’m not big on tribute bands but you’ve changed my perspective on them, literally sounds perfect, the voices are incredibly close and the guitar sounds a lot like David, I’m honestly blown away by the amount of respect and talent that these guys have
The first time I saw them I didn't know a thing about them and my expectations were low. My friend and I were both amazed at how good they were and I like how they play mostly note for note, the way we're used to hearing it on our stereos. I've seen both the Brit and Australian Floyd several times....both are very good bands.
Dogs is my all time favorite song, heard it when Brit Floyd was in Skien, Norway 2013 (i think)... I heard the song when i was 3 years old, cause my dad loved it.... I got the tickets for my 30th birthday, me and my dad wnt together, and it was a very special evening for me.
Wow. What else can I say? You guys truly know your stuff. Dogs is my favorite Floyd tune and I have seen others attempt to perform it, but they failed miserably. you guys effin rule.
Paul Floyd You wont be dissapointed these guys are awesome. I have seen them in outdoor venues and indoor venues and for me indoor venues are better. but they need to big enough so they can have all their props/gear lasers etc.. I have seen them about 5times. and they never let me down. Cheers
Rob Hernandez It was an awesome show. I unfortunately got into Floyd back during the summer of 95, right after the last Floyd tour. Been lucky enough to see Waters all the times he came to MI, but never got to see the awesomeness of a Floyd show. But these guys came pretty damn close. They did Pigs on The Wing and Dogs, but I would've loved to see them perform the whole album.
Paul Floyd You will probably have a chance in the future, because i think they will be doing it again if not animals maybe another album. Glad that you enjoyed the show. They are awesome. Cheers
An awesome performance, and for me the best line-up the band has had. Bobby and Damien at their very best!!!!!!!!!!! Vocals drums, bass, keyboards and backing just perfect.
god damn, this "dogs" is just insanely good. the telecaster use for original replication, the tone, the laughs on the background... just insanely. if i hadn't listen pink floyd's at least 2-3 albums a day, including animals, i'd thought that this is the original recording...
Amazing performance. And hey, the fact they're a cover band means that people are actually enjoying the gig and not shoothing it with their damn phones.
I saw these guys last year at the sage Gateshead they are the best floyd tribute band out there! Going back this December to do it all again. Saw aus floyd 3 years back but not as good as Brit!!!
I've been a Pink Floyd all my life and seen them in concert many many years ago. I have a mentally handicap son who is now in his late 30's who always loved the music I listened to. Well to make a long story short he called me and asked if I ever heard of Brit Floyd?. I said nope. He sent me a youtube video and I was impressed. My son who has aspergers asked me if we can go see brit Floyd when they come to Vancouver Canada in July? I bought tickets to take him but really nervous because of his sickeness can't take crowd's . This is his first ever concert and I'm counting on you guys to make it a highlight of his life.
+Lloyd Orr Lloyd, your son won't be disappointed. I saw them for the first time last year and have already to booked to see them again in October, have a great night
we couldn't go my son ended up in the hospital for 4 months, i had to give the tickets away. we did watch them in the hospital though on you tube, there great. The buddy I gave the tickets to said he was blown away,
A powerful performance of this not-so-cheery Floyd classic, ladies and gentleman, congratulations! Expressed with power and sensitivity, not to mention technical prowess. Very proud of you all, an old Floyd fan from way back....
thewordofgord yep, the guitar work especially in this song is terrific and wonderfully performed by Bobby. Many a person I know doesnt appreciate Animals as I do and it gets overlooked in favour of the 'main line' Floyd recordings, when it is in fact a great listen and watching the Brits perform it you get even more inside info on the compexity of just this track. Brit Floyd again at the extraordinary best..........
I was at last night's show in DC with my bro. Hearing Pigs on The Wing 1 and Dogs in its entirety absolutely made my night! The rest of the show was equally mindblowing! I look foward to checking out Brit Floyd again sometime! :-)
They actually do it better than Pink Floyd and I know that's sacrilege or how ever it's spelled. Damian and Bobby Smash it out of the friggin arena! One of my favorite tunes! At this time in the era of Brit Floyd they had the greatest sound! It's sad some of the key members are no longer in the group I miss Ogla too! Along with bobby and the keyboardist and the percussionist those 4 band members made them the Greatest tribute band of all times! They kick Aussi's ass If they ever lost Cantel it would be all over with!
Who was born in a house full of pain Who was trained not to spit in the fan Who was told what to do by the man Who was broken by trained personnel Who was fitted with collar and chain Who was given a pat on the back Who was breaking away from the pack Who was only a stranger at home Who was ground down in the end Who was found dead on the phone Who was dragged down by the stone The best part of the song
The guitarist (Bobby Harrison) is the closest thing I have seen to Gilmore. I like this band but a shame he is no longer with them. He really shines on this one. This is perhaps their best video on RU-vid. Animals was Floyd at their best, layers of sounds.
Bent.. Totally agree with you, music loving brother. I saw them without Bobby, also this drummer was no longer there, nor were the sax player. They still sounded ok, but, Darlington's really putting the squeeze on this band, and not in a good way, sadly.
Totally agree with you Brother Floyd fan. I saw 'em a few years later...without Bobby. Still sounded good, BUT, just didn't seem right without "the main man". My own, humble opinion.
I saw PF during their tour 1977ish (man I'm getting old). I however saw it at the Milwaukee, WI Stadium show. I saw and heard the Pig blow up and then ran and picked up a huge piece out in the parking lot; no, I did not have tickets. I was 14 years old then. For obvious reasons, I preceded to get rushed (lol; a bit scary) however things remained mostly calm. What happened next? I kept a nice sized piece for myself trading a huge piece for 2 tickets to get in (scalper) and then another smaller piece I traded for some weed!! ~it was an awesome night!!! :D Super sad note: February 1981 (17 years old) I went into the Marine Corp... during that time my mother's basement flooded (nooooooo!!) she took all the soaked items out of the trunk I had stashed there and determined that this piece of pinkish plastic was simply junk and threw it away!!! What!?!?! Oh my god!!!!!!!!!!! My mother hurt me more than she could ever have known!! * Pink Floyd remains and has always been my favorite band; so many great songs!! Here are 2 links (I'm a songwriter/guitarist/singer) I attribute my PF influences to writing these songs): 1) Winter's Mourn = ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-p_Arf46hI04.html 2) Do You Want To? = ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YYXly1Ki030.html
I try go see these guys every year when they come to Charlotte, NC. Nov 16th 2017 is their return to the Queen City but this year I may not be able to make the show unfortunately. UNBELIEVABLE SHOW!!! all I say is GO!!!
Saw them perform Dogs in Durham this past weekend and it was absolutely breathtaking and depressingly awesome (only made more depressing by the clips from "Plague Dogs" on the screen)!! Brit Floyd really does justice to these amazing tracks! Looking forward to seeing them again. :)
I can't tell you how badly I want to be their drummer. Don't get me wrong, I love who is beating the skins today, I just want to be the one in that seat :)
SEEN THESE GUYS BRIT FLOYD (and T.A.P.F.S.) - 7 TIMES IN THE LAST 15 YEARS... PERFECTION!. *Anyone who calls these guys a cover band should be slapped!! lol - The Australian Pink Floyd (now also Brit Floyd; they have split into two bands) are the only tribute act to play for (and with) members of Pink Floyd; in 1996, they performed at David Gilmour's 50th birthday party.
Yes i agree with you one hundred percent. I just want to clarify that these guys are the Brit Floys not the Aussie Floyd, They used to be part of the Aussie Floyd but they broke up into two bands, so now we have the Brit Floyd and The Australian Pink Floyd Show, Just saw the Aussies perform last month and they are as good as these guys. I have seen both groups several times and they put on a great show every time. Cheers
To add some additional information, Brit Floyd was actually Aussie Floyd's North American touring band during the 2008 (Wall Tour), 2009, and 2010 (final North American tour - after split formally announced). Every member or Brit Floyd you see in this video played on those tours with the exception of the keyboard player, Rob Stringer, during the 2008 tour (Jason Sawford of Aussie Floyd toured that year).
One more thing, Damian Darlington of Brit Floyd was a member of the Australian Pink Floyd during 1996 when they performed for David Gilmour at his 50th.
discussdebate Pink Floyd thermselves (my favorite band of all-time - by default; lol) have never played their own music this accurately in concert - I saw them live in 1976 and also have a bootleg of the show!! This band adding the animation and light show; UNBELIEVABLE!! David Gilmour himself has said, "Seeing these guys in concert is the closest he'd ever come to hearing and seeing Pink Floyd live while sitting in the audience!!" (noting: yes, as I and others have said, "This is not the line-up that played at his 50th Birthday party." - they have split into 2 seperate groups - "TAPFS" and "Brit Floyd") - I'm not sure what happened. * Did they break up or was it to share (lessen?) the enormous amounts of shows they were playing?
Verse 5: Roger Waters... Who was born in a house full of pain Who was trained not to spit in the fan Who was told what to do by the man Who was broken by trained personnel Who was fitted with collar and chain Who was given a pat on the back Who was breaking away from the pack Who was only a stranger at home Who was ground down in the end Who was found dead on the phone Who was dragged down by the stone Who was dragged down by the stone
just listened to the original version of dogs then this is this Bobby or gilmour playin cos i sure as hell cant tell them apart well done DAMIAN excellent arrangement cant wait to see you all again in November at BSH
Brit Floyd is simply amazing. They are SOOO much more than simply a "cover band". Lots of folks here are commenting on this performance of "Dogs", but it can't be extolled enough. BF's ability to exactly reproduce the original studio tracks - including every subtle nuance and with perfect instrumental intonation - is on full display in this performance. From the dual guitar leads to the pitch bending on the keyboard solo, it was like witnessing the original recording being made. As incredibly awesome as Pink Floyd was (and, to some extent, still is), Brit Floyd is almost better. They deliver the songs we all fell in love with exactly as we remember them - note for note, with virtually no deviation from the originals. That's something you can't even get from seeing the original band perform.
