Glad he made this video. As an American, I’ve made 4 trips to Europe. The amount of ignorance I heard about the US was astounding. Almost every criticism I heard was based on their own false idea. As a whole, I experienced more rudeness and ignorance in Europe than I ever have in America. Frankly, it just comes off as jealousy.

Many of Europes countries are dying a slow death. Look at Italy, they give away homes for $1 to entice foreigners, they are so used to having a job given to them by nepotism, corruption in workplace it is a normal work behavior so they are not productive. Even their food is nothing without the New World tomato. Imagine Italy making pizza without tomato’s. We have beautiful National Parks, Europe has old historic buildings and history but like all civilizations of the past they all die and crumble. What these countries need to do is stop nepotism, establish a better work mindset and raise children not be stinkers that way they too can be productive. Plus face the fact that they will be overtaken by people from MidEast.

I have watched videos of Europeans saying many Americans don't have passports and don't travel abroad. Gee, I wonder why. Then when they visit the US the comments are how warm and welcoming Americans are. Maybe Americans should start treating Europeans like shit and see how they like it. But that's not the American way.

I don’t get it. Pure ignorance I think. Just treat people kindly and forget where they come from. We are ALL People in the end.

I think a big part of it is how rude Americans are when they go to other countries a lot of the time. Also, it doesn't help that our government meddles in everyone's business and cause problems for everybody else. I agree some of it is just ignorance and rudeness or jealousy on their part, but the US government has done a lot of damage to a lot of countries and they still hold a grudge because they're still suffering from it.

My 2023 tax info in Ohio, USA. Family of 4 (kids are over 18), household income of $52,000 ... our effective federal tax rate was 2.8%, our state tax rate was 1.4% and our sales tax was 5.8% (excludes food & utilities and mortgage) Finally there is property taxes ... ours is roughly the same as the federal taxes at 3% (this varies by the value of the home, not on income ... so this is our personal rate) I estimate that the overall taxes we paid in 2023 was about 10%. We live a fairly typical middle class life ... ok, call it lower middle class ... but still middle class.

1. In Nashville, Tennessee, I've been paying around $3.25 - $3.45 a gallon. I don't ever remember paying over $4.00 a gallon & I'm 73 yrs. old. 2. The Beatles made a HUGE contribution to music. But, yes, they were building on American Rock n' Roll. One of the things they did that I love is, they were the 1st to print out the words to their songs & include them in their albums. Before then, you had to buy the sheet music if you wanted the words to ANY song. 3. Beautiful places in Europe? Lewis, you really need to explore the UK. Oh my goodness! The Scottish Highlands! Beautiful! England has some really beautiful, historical places in truly beautiful settings. Stonehenge, in the Salisbury Plains, comes to mind. So haunting. 4. Just thought I would point out something regarding the country. That is the most beautiful in the world. America has 63 national parks.!!!!!!! We also have 6,392 state parks.!!!!! America has thousands upon thousands upon thousands of city municipal parks. So using your example, Norway is a beautiful country. There's no arguing in that and what they do. Have might be the most beautiful in the world. But a very big question mark comes into mind. Because you're talking about a beautiful country. Well, I just stated how many parks we have and you have seen most of them on videos. But tell me this, We have magnificent coastlines. We have Alaska which probably comes up to being equal with Norway with the beautiful mountains and glaciers. And we also have real deserts. We also have realeverglades and swamp plants. We have real rainforests. We have real mountains and we have real valleys we have. Thousands of feet and miles of rivers. We have more lakes than any other country. We have 4 different kinds of weather patterned areas, whereas most countries have one. We have canyons, we have grasslands. We have farm lands and we have woodlands. We have some of every kind of geographical feature in America where there's many other even beautiful countries are usually beautiful because of the one type of beauty rather than America which has some of everything, you can find in the entire rest of the world.

Regarding the comment about starting wars. I would like to know what war or wars did we start. Did we start WW1, WW2, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, or the Gulf War? Regarding WW1 and WW2 the US came to help. Regarding the latter wars why did the rest of the world jump in to stop communism or dictatorships. There's a saying we're damned if we do and damned if we don't. If the US gets involved in international affairs people say we are sticking our nose in. But if we don't get involved people want to know why isn't the US helping. For example, Russia invading Ukraine. Everyone loves the US involvement.

In terms of wars with a foreign power, we started the American Revolution, War of 1812, the Mexican War, the Spanish-American War, and Afghanistan/Iraq War. A case could be made for the Korean War since we posed it to the UN, though I feel USSR breaking the terms of the split along the peninsula by arming North Korea is to blame, plus South Korea was attached first (Vietnam is an extension of the French Indochina War from the perspective of the Vietnamese). Given we've been the pre-eminent power for 75 years, that's pretty low, especially since only two of those wars started occurred during that period. I don't know if it's because the US is a democracy or because the MAD became a thing shortly after we reached that status (probably a bit of both).

For four years, our family went native and explored castles, countries, and cuisine throughout Europe. It was extraordinary. I then married an Air Force man and graduated from "brat" to "spouse" (these are U.S. military terms for "kid" and "wife"). I even attempted to join the Air Force, but found out I was going to be a mom, instead. I adore my country. She is lovely, to be sure. Every atom in my body is patriotic. That said... In taxes, we generally pay about 33% income tax. The poor usually get many tax breaks and government aid to help them out. Then there's about 6-7% tax on goods except for food items, that's generally not taxed. We do not pay taxes on TV and radio, nor do we have VAT taxes. Our healthcare may seem expensive here, but that's because universal, (or what Europeans call FREE) healthcare is hidden in your exorbitant VAT, petrol and other taxes. Yes, they do still pay for healthcare from their taxes but America's healthcare is the most expensive healthcare system in the world, spending an average of 40% more per patient care than any other country on earth. As a Floridian who lives an hour outside of Disney World, here are some tips. 1. DO NOT COME IN THE SUMMER! It is HOT, and I mean HOT! You will turn into a lobster within minutes. 2. If they still let this, bring your own water bottle full of water, and refill your bottle at the park water fountains. It's expensive to buy stuff at the parks. 3. Don't pick a Disney resort hotel to stay at. Stay off property if you can. It's tons cheaper. Some of the value hotels can be a minimum of $200US a night on Disney property during peak seasons. 4. January-February is usually the best time to go. Not too hot, not too cold, and it's off peak season. March it will start peak seasons again because of spring breakers and then kids being off for the summer for school. 5. If you stay off property and are worried about transportation, Kissimmee-Orlando have Disney busses that will take you to your destination and back to the bus stop. You won't have to worry about parking either. It may take awhile to get there (mass transit in the US is terrible at best), but you won't have to worry about transportation to and from the parks or the exorbitant parking prices. 6. If you go to Epcot (Start with the world showcase and then swing back around to the technology side - the lines in the past have been shorter that way).

In America, Federal tax for a single person in 2023 was 10% for up to $10,275, 12% for up to $44725, 22% for up to $85375 and 24% for up to $182,100. The highest bracket is 37%, which you don't hit until you make over $693000. Keep in mind that you get a deduction on your salary, so in reality, the first 14 grand or so is tax free. Any money you put into 401F isn't taxed either, until you take it out. In my state, Washington, there is no state income tax, the sales tax is around 8.5%. Re: Disney Yes, World is better than Land. Disney World is huge and includes Epcot, MGM Studios ow whatever they're calling it now, and Animal Kingdom. For transportation purposes, if you're going to really go in on this, I'd recommend staying somewhere like the Polynesian resort so that you can ride the monorails around where you want to go. I think there's some big rooms available there or at Animal Kingdom. Super expensive to stay at the parks, but worth it to not have the hassle. People are probably going to tell you the best rides to go on like Space Mountain (definitely do it if you like rollarcoasters). But given how interested you are in Americana, I'm going to recommend you take a spin or two on the Carousel of Progress. when you need to chill out and sit down. Carousel of Progress is not a very exciting ride. It is one of the most original rides of the park, having come from one of the last World's Fairs in the 1960s so that you'll get to see some of an original Walt Disney script and how he felt about the world. And much of what it is is being hyped about being an American and the possibilities for the future. If you want a short American history lesson that will give you some ideas of why Americans are they way they are, check out the Carousel of Progress.

My gosh! 20% on 12k?!? I guess I didn’t realize how high your taxes were! I will say the amount of taxes we pay is often complained about when it comes to what that money is “supposed” to be going to. Like in MA they legalized marijuana and where I live there’s a weed shop in every freaking town. We’re VERY close to NY state boarder and it’s not legal to buy there for recreational use as it is here. So when they legalized it they said a good portion of the taxes collected from marijuana sales would go to maintaining roads since so many more people are now traveling them to get their weed. Well guess what? Are roads are still garbage, arguably worse sooooo..yea we may not pay the most BUT shit isn’t going where it’s supposed to. For MA we’re also taxed and retaxed every time we turn around. We pay federal income taxes, state income taxes, sales tax on anything not food clothing or shelter (rent), property tax, excise tax - another thing that’s supposed to help roads but doesn’t - & I’m sure there is plenty im forgetting. But i wouldn’t be so irritated paying it if they actually put it where they say it’s going.

And most Americans are genuinely nice, friendly people... Epecially those who are 30+. Europeans simply don't know what they're missing by passing judgement without any kind of personal experience or taking a little time to research for themselves... Especially with Google at their fingertips . Their opinions primarily originate with the media in Europe, who tend to focus on and sensationalize negative stories. In a country the size of all of Europe, with nearly 400 million people... the overall numbers make it appear as though a lot more bad goes on here, be it crime, poverty etc. But to fairly compare with countries that are about the size and population of just 1 American state, you have to look at the per capita numbers, not the overall total.

@@marydavis5234 It's not wrong, it's the national average - $3.10. Some places, like the northeast U.S. or California pay a good bit higher prices. Gas prices here in Houston are about $2.80 a gallon. I live right next to a bunch of refineries. Gas prices and taxes here are lower.

Yes, but we don't need as much because our cars are smaller and everything is so much closer together.

It's beautiful, but it doesn't have the same diversity that America has. That's mainly due to the fact that the UK is not as big as America. I'd argue that some of the sights in the UK are more beautiful than most places in the US.

Currently in Texas, gas is less than $3.00 per gallon. It does fluctuate, seemingly without cause.

@@lilyz2156 For me it's Pink Floyd. I know, I know...British origin, however, they were VERY popular, in the States. It's all a moot point, anyhow. PF is followed closely by Meatloaf and Tom Petty, both VERY American.

I have e a Canadian friend that may have cervical cancer and she has to wait three months to get the test to confirm she has that and I had another Canadian friend found a lump in her breast and was visiting the US and she went to planned parenthood and got it covered for free. It’s long stories for both just making it short to say free doesn’t mean better.

I have had the pleasure of living and traveling to Europe many times. There is beauty in each country and there are wonderful people in all countries. The beauty in the USA is amazing, but we also have areas that are awful. The exaggeration about high crime and the USA being dangerous is funny because most of the country is completely safe ( I dislike large cities controlled by liberals because they don’t support their police and tend to have more crime). My complaint about Europe is how stingy they are with the “still” water and ice in the restaurants.... we feel like we never get enough there. Also, some Europeans feel the need to be critical of the USA ( perhaps jealousy?). We are here to support our allies and enjoy your culture. We hope you will do the same in the USA. Lewis.... great video as always!

I've never been to Disney Land, but I've been to Disney World a few times now. If you do go, DON'T go in summer. I know that's when school is off, but it's obnoxiously hot and humid in FL in July and August. Plus Disney is PACKED! The last time I went was early December 2022, perfect time. Although it sucked putting off vacation until the last month of the year, but that's when it's my birthday. Current gas prices in Wisconsin are between $2.85-$3.85/gallon, depending on where you are. Current gas prices at Costco Pleasant Prairie WI, $2.84/gallon for regular and $3.69/gallon premium.
