To hear you say that you have never tasted beef jerky literally made me want to cry. I am so so sorry my friend. I will pray that one day you will be blessed enough to try it. 🙏🏻
@@nickjreacts it is that good if you enjoy meaty and salty snacks. Not to mention all the different flavors we have...I can honestly say that I haven't met too many people that don't like it.
Me too, plus never having the banana pudding 😮 it'd be hard to send him some of the pudding but I'm sure anyone who follows him would send him some jerky. I know I would. I just can't afford to pay for the jerky plus shipping 😢I'm sorry
Gas station food hits in the South. I've had the best breakfast at a station in Memphis, fried chicken in Arkansas, BBQ ribs and tacos in Texas and Spaghetti and meatloaf in SE Missouri. DON'T get me started on the Soul Food!
You can get sketchy food at gas stations, BUT you can get some decent food at a lot of them. Some places aren't the best, but if you're really hungry, they can be pretty damn good. I do furniture delivery all over Indiana and sometimes that's the only option for lunch.
Buc-ees is a travel center. They always have gas, sometimes showers, hot food, and grocery items suitable for car travel. Buc-ee's have items people often forget or didn't know they needed. Most travel centers just have sunglasses and hats.
I moved to Tennessee from California years ago, and California gas station food is terrible! So, when I moved to Tennessee I wasn't ready for the gas station food game to be so strong! Caseys gas station makes a fantastic pizza, better than Dominoes and a few others. Also, most gas stations here (out in the rural country) have a great chicken game too. Never been to Buccees, but Luvs is almost as big, sort of, and it was awesome all the way around. The lesson for me was, once you leave the West Coast, you experience the Real America, almost everything is better, especially gas station food.
Nick, US here. Love you Brits. Re. gas vs petrol: technically Brits and Americans are both right. Petrol seems to be the liquid formulation pumped into the tank; once burned, it exits as a gas. 🇺🇸🇬🇧
Mate, could you imagine a mug of tea like that in England? 😜 Kolaches, I was told, is a Czech thing but theirs has fruit. Apparently when they came to America, they put meat and cheese inside. It's a major breakfast item in Houston. Just about any donut shop, especially Shipley's Donuts has them. It's perfect breakfast to eat while driving to work.
We have tons of small independent gas stations that have GREAT food in the Deep South. Homemade breakfasts and depending on the region you are in maybe fried fish or BBQ or fried chicken as well.
13:33 Ok here it's confusing. They have 3 different sections to order from. The bakery, deli , and hot food section ie: bbq sandwiches, brisket, tacos etc. they all have different numbers. So the deli could be on 301, and the bakery could call 220, while hot foods could be on 544. Just depends on your order, and they are pretty fast.
The treats are especially good, the warm glazed nuts are to die for and you can't go there without getting the Beaver Nuggets! I had family in last year from Alabama and they HAD to go to Buc-ees!
Loveee the brisket sandwich, beaver chips and the spicy bbq beaver nuggets. And you gotta get the beef jerky. The one near me in South Carolina is always super packed so the food is always hot and fresh since they sell so much
You have got to try beef jerky. You haven't lived until you do. If it was cheaper I think I would never go without chewing on jerky every minute between meals. There are tons of flavors but I prefer the hotter or pepperier jerkies.
I used to deliver furniture for Ashley furniture home store which is literally right behind this specific location. So I would fuel up here daily with food and petrol. Food was always hot, and fresh. Also the fuel was usually the lowest price in town.
Been to Buc-ee's in Georgia and Florida. The food is really good. It is amazing to see the size of the stores. And their bathrooms are unbelievable. I have never seen Buc-ee's as quiet as that one is. Must be because there are so many in Texas.
@@lancekirkwood7922 I just saw that someone else said there's one in Colorado too. I want to try a Whataburger. They have a What-A-Burger here in my state but its not the same.
@JenniferBarrier1 never had a whataburger either. But In&Out is currently building an eastern corporate office in Nashville. As they're planning on expanding in the east.
They just opened Colorado's first Buc-ee's about 45 minutes to my north. Haven't tried it yet, but will definately make the trip next time I go to the outlet mall.
You ask by the bathroom is so big, they must have gone during a slow period, because majority of the time theres still a line to get into the ladies room. But the bathrooms are always so clean.
Here in southern Louisiana, our gas stations have awesome food. Everything from burgers to fried seafood, chicle and Mexican food. As good and sometimes even better than some restaurants
I've never had a chance to visit a Buc-ee's, but it is possible to order Buc-ee's snacks through the mail. Beaver Nuggets are incredible. I've tried three different flavors. I've also tried their chocolate covered almonds. Yes, some Walmart's are open 24 hours a day.
I've been to the Buc-ee's just outside of Birmingham Alabama. The chopped brisket sandwich and the fudge are golden. And the men's room is the cleanest I've ever been in and that includes my own. I love that they pay their employees a living wage as well!
That Buc-ee’s is at my home town & it was the first one I went to years ago. I stop at Buc-ee’s once a month for the sandwiches. My nephews love the toys & candy.
If I'm on a road trip, and gotta go--I'll hold it until I reach a Bucee's, because they have the cleanest bathrooms on the road! And some fantastic food. I love the bacon-wrapped quail from the hot food (it's basically a small restaurant) and the cherry sours from the candy section. Also great are the pickled quail eggs, but pickled eggs aren't something everyone likes.
The Kolache they got is technically a klobasnek, but many people just call them sausage kolaches. Kolaches are a Czech fruit pastry made famous in the Czech immigrant bakeries in West, Texas (the town between Waco and Hillsborough on I-35 in central Texas). They invented the klobasnek, and it was copied by lots of places all over Texas. As for the food at Buc-ee's, it is hard to go wrong, But definitely try a real Kolache (Cherry cream cheese is my go to) as well as the Sausage variant
I've been to the store that originated these pastries. Forgot what the name was, but I can never forget the heavenly smell walking into that place. Also some of the nicest, and professional people ever.
Love Buc-ee’s. Always stop at one if it’s on our route, We just got back from a Texas road trip and we made sure to stop at multiple locations throughout our trip. What I end up getting depends on when we stop but I always get a fountain drink, if it’s breakfast I get brisket and egg tacos with salsa, if it’s lunch or dinner I’ll get a chopped brisket sandwich with beaver chips, if I want something sweet I’ll get the banana pudding, if it’s just for a snack I’ll either get the regular beaver nuggets if I want sweet or the white cheddar habanero if I want savory. There’s a lot of really great food so I like to try new things too.
Buc-ee's food is very good. They do have some 'dogs' in my opinion but not many. I have 3 Buc-ee's in the area & I always get a few bags of Beaver Nuggets. The whole family loves those. And many other things in the past. They have a bakery & do all the pastries (I think all of them) + they make their own hamburger buns.
I live in Texas and have for 60 years. BBQ at Buc-ee's is not the Best BBQ in Texas, but it is good... If Terry Blacks or Franklin's are a 10 on a 1-10 scale Buc-ee's would be somewhere around a 7 or better... So not bad at all....
I’m from Georgia and we have a Buccee’s here. I love it there and the brisket is delish. Actually, everything is. And I never eat gas station food. Go figure.
Theres plenty of truckstops in america to get some decent food. But the one you gotta see on you tube i iowa 80. The worlds largest truckstop. 900 18 wheeler parking spaces. Sitting on 220 acres. Crazy huge. Probably can put 3 buc-ee's on that property. There's a couple other truck stops that
Continue---that are close to that size. Kelly north carolina I-95 truck stop is collossal. So is whites truck stop off i-81 in virgina. Check those out. I bet Europe doesn't have anything close to that size.
Lives in Texas and Bucce's is always a treat. Sliced brisket sandwich is THE BEST!!! When we go, we always have to get a few sandwiches, a sausage on a stick, sone beaver nuggets, and a gallon of soda. 😂
@@nickjreacts also highly suggest visiting America's museum ships you have the world's most powerfulest Navy technology advanced and technology advanced museum ships from world war II

Ive never been to one but i would definitely have to stop in if i ever was near one, probably not a good idea for me since im a bit of an inpulse shopper😊. Thank you as always for the video and commentary
I lived in Austin while they were building that Bucees. It was crazy to see at the time since I had never seen a Bucees. Since then I have visited many of them. Now they are in Florida, Alabama, and Georgia and I have been to all of them. I travel a lot. edit: the food is really good, but a little expensive.
I often stop at Buc-ees when traveling from Houston to Corpus Christi. Food is pretty good, love the jerky and warm fries. The kolaches are great as are the brisket sandwiches!
I live in the hill country outside of Austin Texas & am 15 minutes away from Buc-ee’s! I love their brisket breakfast tacos plus a lot of other food options there !
Word of advice for banana pudding is that everybody can’t make it correctly and if you dont like it the first times it’s because they didnt make it right.
Buc-ee's is exceptional. And there are very few convenience stores I'd eat at... for one, IF the food is bad - er, your digestive system isn't please - remember - you're on the road. In a seated position. ahem... but Buc-ee's is my Always Exception, wherever they are, I'll stop and grab a bit. Their BBQ isn't the best but it is good enough!.
Some Walmarts have curtailed this due to violence and miscreants. Some restaurants allow, some don't. Don't count on any place, and check early in the afternoon. "Do you allow?"
I belive Bucees does have some outdoor seating and tables. Although this couple seems to be a little too posh, nerdy and sheepish to be bothered to sit outside with mere peasants.
@@nickjreacts Not necessarily, but one isn't getting the full experience sitting in a caravan. Like Jeremy Clarkson says "How dreadful is a so called vacation sitting in a carvan in some random field and dedicating in a bucket". Also the couple was taking the piss and sort of slightly putting down the concept of Bucees. And the husband was pitching about the seating, the parking and the no lorry rule. Like I said a little too snobby and posh for their own good imho
It trips me out how fascinated people are with our Bucees lol 😂 it’s just normal for us here in New Braunfels area. It’s definitely a one stop shop for river floats and lake days.
8:23 my heart hurts for you my friend. Is there a way I can send you some jerkey. I mean real jerky. Buc-ees brand is good, but we hunt here in Texas. I smoke my own venison, and make my own blend of jerky. It's perfect if you're an outdoorsman, or if you like to hike. Portable, provides energy, plus tasty.
You do some times see people any where in the US who wear PJs while out and about. I honestly can't do that as an adult. I can get away with it as a child but never as an adult. Maybe because kiddie PJs are much cuter than adults.
