In Finland we have trucks that pour some gravel on the streets for walkers so it's not so slippery. In spring the gravel is removed with trucks that have rolling brushes in them. :)
In Stockholm we have what we call "april weather", fast changes between snow, warm sun and all in between. This year we had a long snowy winter and the spring feels a bit slow. There are some spring flowers but the trees are still bare. I love the seasons! So embossed with that the season always in a move. Moving towards shorter days and colder temperatures or the other way. Spent 3 (wonderful) month in South Pacific (sailing) where it was the same day after day. It kind of got to me after a while, wouldn't call me depressed, but something was wrong.
In the south of Sweden, they have spring with flowers coming up and fire warnings. Here where I live in the north, we have -15 degrees C and still one meter of snow. We are a VERY long country! :D
In the south of Sweden (Skåne, Scania in english, yes just like the truck) we have spring and around +8 C daytime. No snow and all the flowers are coming up!
We had -20 degrees Celcius this morning and we still have about 70 cm of snow. But it's starting to get warmer at least during the day. I live in the Southern part of Swedish Lapland
Dwayne, you are my absolute favorite RU-vidr! You are humble, nice and have an open mind. Welcome to Sweden and I think you will enjoy yourself here in our beautiful country!
It was snowing in Stockholm this morning. The temperature is around 1-3 degrees outside. Still very grey and cloudy, but I have seen some snow drops and Crocus popping up here and there which is nice! 🥰
4:51 Karlbergs slott, or Karlberg's Palace, houses the Swedish Military Academy. It has done so since its inception in 1792, and it is thus the oldest military academy in the world to remain in its original location.
I live in the south of Sweden so I live in the vicinity of Gothenburg which is in the west coast and it’s a bit more south compared to Stockholm which is on the east coast but we haven’t had snow for a while. But in the far north of Sweden it’s still a lot of snow. Where I live it’s 12 degrees Celsius and in Kiruna in the very north of Sweden it’s currently -6 degrees Celsius and it’s going to be -14 with a 60% chance of snow. So it’s quite different.
+5 to10 Celsius here now, nightfrost is gone and spring is definately coming, days are getting longer, we get about 12 hours of sunshine now, instead of only 4 in the darkest winter. No need for a cap or gloves anymore as I was out spanking my rugs today, as a part of the springcleaning.
We have had a lot of snow tis year. I live outside of Stockholm and today we had some snow but it's melting away fast, The spring is closer now. I have snowdrops in my garden. But up north is cold and oss of snow still. You should come to Sweden 😀❤
The spring Weather seems like it has got lost somewhere 😫 it is snowing today and the sun seems to stay away over the easter break next week also……. I am craving sun and warmer days 😫🤗
Right now, in northernmost Sweden about -15˚C and in southernmost Sweden about +5˚C. In Scania, it is not unusual that there is no meteorological winter
I live a bit north of Stockholm, and it's been about 0-10 C here recently. It's actually snowed a bunch on several days, but it's not stayed on the ground long at all. We had about 30 cm (one foot) of snow for quite some time this winter, but most of it is gone now. I actually visited Oxford recently, I came home about a week ago. It was a lot warmer there, and lots of magnolias were in full bloom everywhere. So it felt a bit meh to come home to quite chilly weather. We had had a warmer period before I went away, so I had gotten used to more spring like weather. One thing the UK does a lot better than Sweden is sea shanties! Or at least I don't know of any Swedish shanty bands, but tbf that might just be that I've not happened to come across any.. Anyway, UK sea shanties.. The reason I went to Oxford was actually to go to a gig with a shanty/folk band who played there. The Longest Johns. Lovely lads, extremely talented and funny. It was a bit strange to only speak English for a full week, but I managed pretty well. I stayed with a friend who lives there, and went to the gig on my own, but met up with some people I know from the Johns' community. Edit: A few minutes after writing the main bit of this comment, it's now snowing lots again.
I have been running all year round för 19 years now, I am 47, and just wear my Icebug shoes. It is shoes whit 19 carbide steel stud underneath. They are the best!!😊
Mars 26 Stockholm / Sweden. Spring is coming... no snow on ground but stile snow time to time , and next day it can be sunshine . i dont mind.. but expencive to buy cloth for all the seasons haha ;) take care brother
In Swedish Lapland we had -12C this morning and snowfall yesterday! Yes, we use the slip on anti ice spike things. No idea what they are called in English, in Swedish it's colled broddar eller isbroddar
A common thing seeing here in Sweden is when the sun comes out, you can see people just standing still taking in the sun. Swedes come out of their ''hibernation'' when spring comes rolling in, It's like everything and everyone just start blooming, everyone just become way way way more happier. It's no wonder since winter for us it's cold, snowy and just a sheet of clouds almost 24/7 in the sky for 6 months, it's not fun at all.
In the middle of Sweden (Hälsingland) it's been fluctuating a lot recently which is very typical this time of year. It has reached +10 C briefly two times in the last few weeks. But besides that we have had temperatures fluctuating between +5 C to -10 C and right now during the day it's -2 C and its snowing A LOT! But looking at the forecast its going to rain later this week so slurry it is!
Yes I always use spikes on my shoes when I out for walks in winter time. A lot have shoes with spikes nowadays, I am going to buy some of these next winter. Right now it is around 0° Celsius degrees in Stockholm. It was snowing little earlier today, but no snow left on the ground right now.
British people are good at making good looking cars. Jaguar E-type is one of the sexiest cars ever. That along with Ferrari GTO 250.

There are shoes called "Icebugs" with studs that are available in different models, I have two different ones but with studs, I don't go out in the winter without them.
It still snows about every other day. Around -2 or 0 degrees. It starts melting and then I wake up to another winter wonderland in the morning. The country is very long and vertical. So the temperature differs from north to south.
I live in the middle part of sweden and we had snow all day today, but it's nearing spring and starting to get warmer. About 3 to 8 degrees C during day and down to about -3 degrees C during night.
Stockholm checking in. It's been above freezing for more than a week, which doesn't mean spring is here yet; it's been snowing and raining through the day, the snow just doesn't hang around. We usually get one or two spring-like days in March, but during my 36 years on this planet, we've only ever had one April without snow in Stockholm.
atm its almost spring here in stockholm so i have started to use my spring/summer sneaker shoes again wich is nice 🙂👍🏼 and most days its sunny weather with blue sky and white clouds🙂👍🏼
Get a job in Sweden and then apply for a residential permit before you start working, it wouldn't be hard at all. The difference after Brexit is that you need to apply, but I doubt you would have any problems. Key is to have a job first, then the application.
I live 4.5 hours north of Stockholm and we had plus 10 cm fresh snow as late as yesterday over night. About 1 hour north of Stockholm is where the border where winter stays longer in the winter. Stockholm is a bit warmer and did not have any snow in last cpl of weeks or a month at least.
You are good at speaking English, something that most people learn like other languages. I would also say that you guys used to be the best at making music, you also brew pretty good beer. I also think that the standard in GB has been raised quite a lot, I know that in the past when I was a kid in the 80s and 90s it was always said that everything in GB was so unmodern, old and worn, but now I don't think that people thinking that way about GB.
I have a very different view from this guy of how well public transportation works, it usually works ok aslong as conditions are pristine, but it seems the trains get equally shocked each time a few cm of snow fall and every train breaks down and doesnt arrive on time.
Someone plz tell him thats nothing compared to north sweden...stockholm is a baby when it comes to snow when the few times happen that they get like a 1 dm of snow they cansel all traffic lol...but up in the north we have öike 2 meter snow and still have to go to school and the busses have winter tires etc😂
I do actually have a pair of shoes like that, and you know when they have done a bad job at preparing the paths, or it has recently become icy, they can save your body a lot of pain, especially if you go out for a walk with big dogs.
Hello! I really like watching ur reaction videos! We have a fantastic female singer in sweden called ”Molly Hammar ”, would you please react to one of her songs called ”Deep down”, in this song she sings in english 😊Best wishes from Sweden 😊
Just curious... Do people use walking poles (similar to skeeing poles) i the UK? or is it a swedish custom. Lots of people here in Sweden use them to get even better excersize than if you just take a walk. You use more parts of your body which burns more calories and maximizes the effects on your body when you take a walk. I saw people with walking poles at about 5 minutes in the video and got a little curious.
There's a shoe brand called Icebug that makes shoes, including running shoes, with studs on the soles. Maybe Stefan has a pair of them. I've thought of getting a pair, but haven't yet decided if it's really worth it. You get pretty used to walking and running on slippery surfaces. Also, not all shoes are the same, even though they all have rubber soles. Winter shoes typically have soles with more natural rubber in them, this gives better grip on snow and ice but wears out faster, while summer shoes have sore synthetic rubber in them, which gives better durability as well as perfectly adequate grip in warm weather.
I live almost 2 hours away from Stockholm and it have been snowing all day today. 2+ Celsius. And I also wear shoes with built in grips when it’s really icy outside. But I think it’s quite common to see people with like sneakers in the winters here lol, depending on where in the country you live that is.
I think it depends on where you live as sweden isnt that wide but our area is very far stretching, so right here where I live (closest BIG city is Gothenburg) we havnt had snow for a 1,5 month now and its gets warmer each day and I think that is kind of typical for the south parts of sweden this time of the year. The middle parts are a lottery some years they have long winters and some more like the south but the only TRUE winter we got in sweden the last 15 years are if you go from the middle of sweden and up. The further you go the more snow you will see and in the absolute north like Kiruna or above I have friends that quite recently still had like -32 and 2 meter snow. ps: the best would be if sweden did like UK and made our own Swexit.. EU doesnt do anything for sweden anyway except making things worse. That is what I hoping for instead of UK as a country or peoples their joining again.
You think Stockholm gets much snow? Go north to Norrland, it's not every place or every year, but places like here, less than 1 meter of snowfall in a winter is rare and kinda lame. ^_^ Look up the video named "Århundradets snöstorm - Gävle (Sweden)". Footage from 1998, when Gävle, just 200km north of Stockholm got 1.2 meters of snow in less than 3 days. "north of Sweden" Yeah, where my cousin lives, the sun almost doesn't go above the horizon in the winter, but it's almost as bad in summer when it doesn't get dark at all. "high standards" To some extent. But it's also a matter of more people taking responsibility for getting things DONE. And that's sadly something greatly in decline. This is a necessary heritage of the climate, you simply cannot let things fall apart, because in a place where you can get -40C in rare cases and below -20C every winter, or even just the cold rains that can come almost any time of year, people die if things don't work.
Oh I think brits are not very good at ice skating and skiing. And having real conversations. 😂 But really good at music, gardening, architecture and writing and theatre etc.
I´m Swedish and I love England and the UK. Don´t say you are just average - Beatles, Stones, Oasis, great football, Lake District, Cornwall, Hampstead, Richmond Park, whisky, Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, castles and cathedrals and not the least so many friendly people. You are great!
It is so fun hearing a person not from scandinavia wondering if u can run in minus degrees and snow:))) Just by a pair of running shoes and some appropriate clothing. Not gonna kill u!
I live about 1 hour away from Stockholm (Ärentuna). We still have winter but it’s getting more like spring by everyday. On Thursday we will have 10 degree Celsius! It’s currently snowing pretty heavy and it’s windy. But it’s not very cold! It’s 1 degree Celsius.
We currenctly have 2 seasons active in sweden, in the northern part its winter and in its souther part its spring. But here i live (sweden west coast) its no snow and around 1-8c.
One thing Brits are best at, music! Then we have helpfulness. Standing in the subway and looking lost, someone is guaranteed to come and help you. That never happens in Stockholm! And the media is just as lousy in Sweden...
Dude, if an American can move to Sweden and get residency (obviously America has never been in the EU for obvious reasons) then a Brit can move here. Sweden is basically restrictive to give residency to people who are fleeing from war etc because (in my opinion) they don’t speak either Swedish or English, might not have any education etc. It might be unfair but people who have an education, who are not going to need the state to provide for them, who speaks at least English, they are just welcomed with open arms. I wanted to move to the UK but after brexit, I feel like the UK doesn’t want anyone moving there. 😂
