Dwayne: "Do not insult us , we do understand" No you don't. Let me help you out here: Warmduscher - has nothing to do with warm=gay, not even remotely. And "douche" is not included as well. It describes the adressed person as someone, who only takes warm showers, and no cold ones (Like a "real man" would do), thus being a soft, slobby weakling. Evolutionsbremse - you were close, but not on point. It means, that you have no worthy genes to pass on to the next generation, thus being a break (bremse) to the evolution. Other than that: these were not the most creative ways to insult someone. In fact, three of them are pretty "basic" and nothing to write home about. Trust me, I am a native Berliner and we know how to insult (harsh "Berlin humor" is well known in Germany)
@balthazarbeutelwolf9097
@balthazarbeutelwolf9097 Месяц назад
He actually mis-translated Missgeburt. A Missgeburt [in the original non-insulting sense] is not a stillbirth, but someone who came physically/mentally damaged straight out of the womb. It kind of was always offensive, but it was originally just brutal but factual. And Dwayne, you did not quite get the gist of Warmduscher. It has nothing to do with douche. A German Dusche is simply a (bathroom's) shower. The insult belongs to a family of insults supposedly describing weaklings: Schattenparker [shadow-parkinger], Sitzpinkler [seated pisser], and my favourite: Turnbeutelvergesser [gymbagforgetter - someone who gets out of PE at school by conveniently having forgotten to bring their gym gear].

I would like to contribute an experience from my youth at this point: It was sometime in the 1970s when we, a German school class consisting of boys aged about 16, made a trip to GB. We also visited London among other places. One day, a group of us - about 10 boys, including me - took a ride on the London Underground. As we got off the train, we had to go through a long dark tunnel towards the exit. In the middle of the tunnel, a single woman came towards us. Otherwise, there was no one in the tunnel. As she passed us, one of our group thought it was funny to say something obscene to her in German. I don't remember if anyone in the group laughed. The lady simply replied "Same to you, whatever it may mean!" and continued on her way calmly. I was deeply impressed by her quick-wittedness and her composure in the face of confrontation with a group of rowdy teenagers in a dark place. I would have liked to tell her that this was the best of all possible answers, but in the situation it was probably best to leave it at that.
@jokervienna6433
@jokervienna6433 Месяц назад
I also think that it is wise to know that some folks actually do speak more than one language. i´m Swedish, and many years ago, one in the family visited Germany with work. He and some colleagues wanted to get on a bus to go somewhere, but where "hindered" by quite a big lady in front of them. So, one of them says (in Swedish): Can someone give that fat lady a kick in the butt so we can get on this bus?!? The lady turns around and answers, in Swedish: Thank you, I am doing fine on my own! :) Never assume that folks in other countries wont understand your language.

@@walkir2662 Do you mean that folks from English speaking countries seldom learn another language? If that is what you mean, an can agree. I am a Swede, living in Austria. I kind of often meet people that just assume that everyone speaks English. Some people are polite and ask if I speak English, but sadly, many folks don´t even ask. I think it is the minimum of respect to at least ask me. I am fairly good at German now too, and I easily forgive folks that start out with German, but I hear they are English speakers. Then I kindly switch to English. The relief in some folks faces is priceless! :)

"Teetrinker" I heard for the first time as insult. A lot of Germans drink tea. I also don't know anyone, who really hates the English. The only insulting word I could find with Google was "Inselaffe", but no one uses this among my friends. In Former times we said something about your football, goal keepers and penalties, but for Germans this is not funny anymore 😩.

I was on a holiday in Ireland in 1998 and on that journey (a car tripp) for the first time I saw teletubby's(at tv in a northirish pension). A year later, they have arrived at german tv

Jeansbügler is an insult towards men that is somehow also sexist towards women. Because it basically calls men who iron their own jeans weak and effeminate, as ironing is "a chore for women".

in the " ruhrpott" area in germany " was ein experte " = What an expert . is a insult but not a to bad one , if a friend messes up you can say " du bist ein echter experte " = " you are a real expert " for my it is always funny if they say in tv shows " now we got some experts invited "

We have a higher rate of "Teetrinker" than any area in the world. I am german, from East Frisia. It´s the area at the north sea, directly at the border to the netherlands. And its not an insult! The teletubbies are created in GB.

My Experience as german: Insult 1 and 10: Is nowadays commonly used from the youth for the most its nearly meaningless as I was a teenager... some decades ago 😢... back then you can really get in a lot of trouble if you saying it. Today its often less meaningful. Insult 2: Is also very known but more used like a side insult like you get really enrage and spit out a lot of insults one of them is mostly the first and the second. ^^ Insult 3: Its more a traditional insult and today just a weak one. No one 'insults' you with that seriously today. Well the insult overcome itself I mean Pigs are very intelligent and genetically extremely near to humans and a dog ... I mean come on the best friend of man? I don't must explain that. - No seriously its more common to greet your old friend you met like "Hey Dwayne du alter Schweinehund, na wie gehts dir?" - "Hey Dwayne you old pig dog, how are you?" so a friendly greeting insult under friends Insult 4: Also an older word. And no wonder he didn't can describe it why its insulting its just as meaningless as in english. But is frequently used and even if its not as harsh as 1 or 2 its for sure an insult. Insult 5, 7(in the video as Insult number 6 again): They are soft insults which should show how weak you are. So a chad would never shower with warm water only with cold water like a man. A chad would never drink tea(mostly in the thinking of any hippy herbal tea to calm you down or open your mind) but would drink just coffee without milk and sugar like real men should do it. So this kind of thinking is the "insult" in these. Was more used in school between kids cause its kind of soft insults. Insult 6: "Jeansbügler" never heard of it before. If I had to guess it I had said its meaned like 5 and 7 so unnecessary task which you do cause you want to be over correct and it seems like weak/gay (not my opinion just this viewing point of 'chad' thinking). Or may be that this person is dumb cause you don't must iron jeans. Insult 8 (in the video as Insult 7): This is a good one rarely used but it hits good and is more a insult where the opponent must think twice what is meant in a heat of moment. Insult 9 (in the video the third time number 6): Was more common as teletubbies were often discussed in media if they make the kids stupid but mainly if they mess up the language from the kids. Insult was meant between weak in chad cause overfriendly, dumb cause you do it and/or just retarded.

5:54 "We also use *"hound"* for dog as in german *"hund"* > Even better: *Old English* for "dog" is: *"hund"* > The exact same. > from Proto-Germanic *hundaz > Source also of Old Saxon and Old Frisian *"hund"* > Again,...try to compare always *Old (low) German vs Old Saxon* & you get 90% of the time a BINGO... ;)

Dusche = Shower and has nothing to do with a douche. Warmduscher means you're soft, weak. Yes, Evolutionsbremse is an insult :D As to the "we understand you" part - Austrian german entered the chat XD Teletubbies are English
