There are Polar bears in Alaska, and they're very dangerous, but they're in the far North in areas where there are VERY few people. Brown bears are in the populated parts of Alaska, so they're a bigger threat to people.

Just to add, when assessing danger, it’s not just about which animal is stronger/more lethal-it’s also about risk. You’re more likely to encounter a brown bear in Alaska than a polar bear. Also, I’m pretty sure there are more brown bear attacks on humans, which is probably the stat that they’re using.

Mainer here. You need to be a lot more concerned with a moose’s hooves than their antlers. They will stomp you to death. Fun fact, I was fishing from a rowboat on a small pond one time and a baby moose came out of the woods to forage along the feeder stream. A few minutes later mom started calling to the baby and he crossed the stream to get to mom to start nursing. Mom stared at my husband and I the whole time, then they walked back into the woods when the baby was done feeding. Sadly, this was before cell phones and I didn’t have a camera with me, so I don’t have any pictures. But it was one of the most incredible moments of my life.

I lived in Florida for 12 years and had a huge "gator" that loved to climb out of the canal and nap under my clothes line. The first time I stepped out my kitchen door and he stood up and looked at me was the last time I went out without looking. By the way, I didn't live in the wilds. I lived on Merrit Island in a subdivision.

Hi Lewis. I used to sleep next to a window on the porch. I once heard a commotion and pulled the curtain aside to look out. I saw a black bear not more than a couple of feet outside the window. The most dangerous animal in florida is the "retiree", the old, blind blue-haired grandma or grandpap driving a car so big it should require a commercial license to operate. They prowl the parking lots in search of inattentative victims. Or they will lurk in the passing lanes waiting for an impatient victim to react and make a mistake leading to death or injury.

4:18 "Why do they have so many teeth?" Unlike humans and other mammals, most reptiles have a uniform set of teeth that simply fall out and are replaced by a new one when damaged. This ensures that they are never without, but it also means that they can't chew their food due to lacking the specializations found in mammalian jaws.

The brown recluse: you commented that it is massive. It’s actually a fairly small guy with its legs stretched out its about the size of a coin. Moose: if you haven’t seen one, they are FAR larger than you think they are. Alligators: you should check out the american show Swamp People if you want to see very angry massive gators. Another thing to note is they can strike up to 2/3 of their body length. Always respect these (and any other [especially] venomous) snakes. Keep your ears and eyes open and get away fast if one warns you. Many (but not all) snakes will warn a threatening presence by curving their neck in the shape of an S and hissing - a warning that they mean business and will bite.

I'm from California. I've seen mountain lions three times. Once was when one got hit by a car and was lashing out at people walking by. The second time was when one jumped into my backyard and clawed at the fence. And finally when I went hiking I was stalked by one until I rejoined with a larger group.

4:20 gators are constantly growing new teeth to replace ones they lose. as their mouth is their primary weapon for hunting or fighting, they tend to break or have teeth rip out often. if it was permanent, they would quickly starve to death. so they grow new ones in to replace the ones lost. this ends up having them have around 2,000 in their lifetime...

Moose don't want to kill just humans, they have a bad temper, and like to attack and sometimes kill anything near them!! Keep an eye on your dog in moose country! Sharks have been around 50 million years longer than trees!!! Rattlesnakes rattle to warn cows or cattle not to trample on them, and I've seen a herd of cows jump over the rattlesnake, as high as they could, so they definitely know that rattle means don't step on me!

A lot of cities have ordinances that require indoor cats because they have feral cat problems. When I was in Minnesota there was a wooded area nearby with lots of feral cats. They multiply very fast. Also there are thousands of non-venomous spiders in the US and lots of snakes that won't hurt you. In Wyoming we had a bull snake. It looks like a rattler, and acts like one, but it doesn't hat a rattle. It has adapted to mimic a rattler as a defense. It was one of many harmless snakes.

As far as bears are concerned. How dangerous they are considered has more to do with location than color. Bears in colder climates with less plant life are considered more dangerous because they have to rely more on hunting to eat. Making it more likely for a simple sighting to turn into an attack. Edit I'm in Kentucky. Honestly Deer are more dangerous here than Copper Heads when you consider the amount of auto accidents caused by them.

There are deer crossing warning signs also to be watchful for deer that maybe standing in the road or on the side of the road you are driving on. Deer often run across in front of your car. Deer are also hard to see because their camouflage body color blends in to the surroundings. Deer like to come out during sun rise and sun set. Sharks aren’t very deadly. People are more likely to be struck by lightning than getting attack by a shark. (On average, 440 people are struck by lightning each year in the United States alone. An average of 63 unprovoked shark attacks each year happens worldwide (If you poke the shark enough, it probably would bite back), not just the United States. The fatal shark attacks are even lower, only 14 last year. So sharks probably don’t belong on this list.
