I'm a U.S. Army vet, and I served in Saudi Arabia during Desert Storm. There were Iraqi doldiers coming out of the desert who didn't even know they were fighting against the U.S. Most we're starving, and their uniforms were in tatters, and they surrendered fairly quickly.

@@TanyaQueen182 I feel bad for them because they have to serve 10 years active duty and they’re essentially active duty from 18 to 28 and then after that they are reserves from age 28 up until they’re 60 years old! They are dictator is evil, and he and his father and grandfather will buy weapons and nukes in missiles and starve of the people. I don’t even know why these people like them because even some people or a lot of people in communist China don’t care for Xi. Ha😂 they call him Winnie the Pooh.!😂😂😂😂 they can’t say it on social media or in public because if they get caught they can get in big trouble but they do joke amongst each other when they’re just out drinking and they’re small circles calling him Winnie the Pooh or poo. I never thought anything about it until I started watching this RU-vid channel “ the China show” & one guy is American, and the other was born and raised in South Africa but he left when he was 18 and the South African guy, Winston, is HILARIOUS & add that to his accent and sarcasm, and it makes him even funnier, and he lived in coming to try and over 14 years and his American friend in California lived there for about 10 or 12 years and they got the heck out of that place because their Canadian friend was disappeared. That happens pretty regularly there in China and it occurred right after Huawei CEO was arrested in Canada a couple years back and then Chyna checks the travel list & find this nice Canadian man and they took him and he’s not dead but he’s just incarcerated somewhere. Wednesday I met this beautiful Chinese lady who is a doctor and they wanted to have kids in China isn’t a safe place. He was sick of them being a pain in the rear even if they weren’t mean about it, but he would regularly go to Hong Kong and back and he was supposed to call and check in when he returned back from Hong Kong and sometimes he would forget so they would call his wife and tell her to remind him etc. etc. because he would always forget.😂 they left for Australia for a while until they can get asylum in the USA. If she wouldn’t have been from China and him from South Africa, they wouldn’t have gotten granted asylum, but they did, and they did in the legal way.. he and his friend have the show on RU-vid and it’s absolutely entertaining. They lived in China for so long, and they actually have videos stuff of stuff that goes on in China like their electric vehicles are crap and a whole parking lot of them that we’re not even cut on caught on fire ! Just amazing and they’re always talking about how they got this and that but everything they do have is stolen technology from America. China really makes it and according these guys it’s crap and I have to agree because a few of the clothes I’ll even ordered from Walmart were yuck. All I ordered were two pair of pajamas, and they were terrible.. North Korea in a lot of ways is worse because let the people start and China has gotten better about that because they’ve made a lot more money since they started trading with the west in 1980 and then lucky them when Bill Clinton got into office he sent or allowed so many businesses to take their businesses to China so they can make more money paying people a dollar an hour versus five dollars an hour or whatever and what Trump did is that when he became president when those businesses in China from America exported from China to America Trump would tariff the heck out of them😂 he told them in November after he won the election in 2016 that he was going to do everything he could to lower the corporate tax rate to 15%, but it might end up being 18% or 20%, but he was going to lower it and they got a good chance to come back to America and higher Americans and they would you send incentives for that versus being taxed. Many companies didn’t they didn’t initially in 2017 they sure as heck did buy 2018 because Trump stuck to his word, and he text the crap out of them when they exported stuff to America because it was wrong.. WRONG! Just bad wrong, because these businesses were capitalist, and started in a capitalist country & when these cEOs and businessman were millionaires, they offshore word or outsource jobs to communist China of all places and we would’ve never ever done that with the Soviet union, and they did it for cheap labor. The thing is Clinton, Bush, Obama, and Biden loved it. Someone said George HW Bush started working on it but I don’t know about that because he’s the one that had a really good foreign policy like Reagan and couldn’t stand communists. Clinton would gaslight Americans and say that most Americans were going to college and not working manufacturing jobs anymore but that was in the 90s and then Obama was telling people in Michigan and Wisconsin and Minnesota that these jobs were not ever going to come back. Trump brought some of them back and a lot of them were jobs that employ black Americans specially in the Detroit area and Joe was on TV for New Year’s eve, telling Ryan Seacrest that he brought all these jobs back from overseas and he’s lying.. It’s a North Korean soldiers didn’t surrender to Americans and do you want the German POWs in World War II, They would be crazy because they would be treated so well and fed. Even the women have to go into the military active duty but I think they served eight years active duty and then they are in the reserves too, from what I remember. It gets complicated because women usually have a hard time or impossible. Having kids before they are 28 because they have to be in the military active duty

People under estimate the South Korean military, but they are the 9th largest in the world! They have cutting-edge tech and testing from the U.S. and other Nato partners. North Korean soldiers and civilians are starving on an almost constant basis, I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the special forces and government officials are the only people with a constant stream of food. Being Korean, it breaks my heart seeing and knowing the conditions that the Northerners are forced to endure. I truly hope for a unified Korea one day.

Yes and know, what stalled the convoy was bad tires because of the poor quality of maintenance like them not rotating vehicles to prevent tire rot but because of the corruption they bought non military grade tires from China to save money so when the tires blew on many vehicles the convoy stopped and many ran out of gas because a lot of that was also sold to others like villages for extra cash. Russia also has "photo reports" where for example they have a range day, they will be lead to the range where they are supposed to spend hours there but the direct command takes a photo, then take everyone back and says they were there for the day pocketing the money that would of been used on rounds. Simular stuff happens with pay check were they say they have more soldiers then they do, pocketing the pay checks because paychecks go to the direct leadership to be passed on instead of it directly going to the soldiers

You're absolutely right - should America turn to serious conflict with the goal to level North Korea so they would never be a threat again, they could do it and though there may be some losses, the strategic capability of the US Military far far surpasses North Koreas capabilities to such a degree that it's not even fair. And they know this which is one of the only reasons they haven't attacked South Korea outright in full on war. They do have a nuclear program but should they launch even a single nuke at the US, they would be leveled and turned to a glass plate so fast it would be over before it hit the news, as doing any less could prompt a much larger war or global conflict which the US would want to avoid. The high level of ferocity presented by the US would also act as a deterrent for any other country seeking war with the US. That's just my thoughts on it after serving in the US Army for 10 years.

During the Korean War before America got over into it, North Korea, Tron and the Soviet unions help, but without putting boots on the ground, invaded South Korea, and took all about the southern tip of it, and they even had Seoul. America came in and I don’t know if anybody else came to help us because Korea was not in NATO. Do US navy and marines were over there and some army as well. Initially, it was navy and marines, and then a lot of army soldier started pouring in there.. during the winter months, it would get as cold as 30° below zero Fahrenheit, and every bit as cold as Germans fighting in Russia after Hitler have the German army invade Russia and the Soviets. That was June 1941, and then they turned around and invited Stalingrad in August 1942, and that was their HUGE MISTAKE. Comrade Stalin was not about to let Stalingrad fall because it bore his name. It wasn’t just soldiers fighting but men women 14 and 15-year-old teenage boys were given rifles and the military were using automatic weapons & machine guns, as were the older reserve soldiers who were then civilians. Some of them were older and no longer in the reserves anymore but they still had a machine gun because they knew how to work them and that right there was the change in how everything was going over in the Soviet union because they didn’t invade until August and it starts getting cold in October and it is below freezing, but December, January, and February and that’s when they do have those nights that are sometimes 30 to 40° below zero and it’s freezing during the day as well. Germany didn’t have trucks like America did. I don’t know why we helped the Soviet union but we did and it was probably because America was a communist country and wanted to help the people versus the politicians and we had a lend lease program with them just like we did with Britain and China but we fed their entire population in military for three years because they’re filled in Ukraine in the most prosperous growing farmland area in Russia. I have just been destroyed and needed a couple years to clean up the Eco system and they got their first cropping again in 1944 & it was the first one they had had since the autumn of 1941 because they still had crops in a lot of the Russian areas but just that they lost them in Ukraine. I just don’t get it, but we helped a communist country. We did it to help the civilians more than anything, and then when the war was over, FDR had died three weeks before victory in Europe . The third Reich has been wanting to surrender to America long before that, but they couldn’t because of Hitler. FDR was a big time socialist, despite running as a Democrat because he was not an idiot, and he knew he was not ever going to be elected as a Socialist. but at least he had President Truman ended up forgiving war debts that Britain owed us, France and China, but not the Soviet Union because of what they did after world war two was over in Europe and east Germany was in terrible shape and America and Britain. We’re having to draw gosh knows how many tons of supplies in the East Berlin every 3 to 5 minutes to make sure the people there had food and medication and just basic necessity medication‘s like Muthiah, lead and bandages for injuries and baking soda plus all this food blankets clothing, etc. & of course, candy and chocolate. They did that for a long time and then the only reason the Soviet union put up the wall is because people kept escaping and they would risk death to get to West Germany and when it got to the point that east Germany only had about 20 million people or less they had to put up the wall because They didn’t have anybody over there to do any work😂 just sad and even to this day there’s a little bit of a disconnect between the descendants of the people who were born in the east Germany back in the 1960s and 1980s versus the ones who were born in the late 90s and 2000s. SAD!

16:33 in the korean war a north korean artillery emplacement fired upon an American naval detachment led by the USS Wisconsin. one of four shells hit her, injuring three of the crew but dealing otherwise no significant damage to the ship. the USS Wisconsin then turned all 9 of her 16 inch (406mm) main guns at that emplacement and responded with a full broadside attack that pushed the entire ship 4 feet in the opposite direction. after completely destroying the emplacement with that salvo, the USS Wisconsin then returned to her mission at the time which was to destroy enemy bunkers, railway systems and surrounding mountains

South Korea especially fought with distinction in the south and had control of a geographic region that had very little Vietcong activity because the Vietcong feared the South Koreans so much. ROK troops are the toughest in Asia and they have the best tank in the region the black panther North Korea can’t handle them let alone the USA

A Special Forces commander talks about meeting top US Generals, he said they had a different feel to them like more respectable when u met them, he said there are whole divisions that have suicide vests with tactical nukes and chemical agents

20:43 watch Habitatal Linecrossers videos about US Air-defense like the "sprint missle" that can go faster then Mach 10, that is so fast it glows from the air molecules exploding around it and that is to counter threats such as that. Also NK and Russia can have 1 million but if they don't have good or working delivery systems, it is basically useless. The US is constantly working on our Minuteman missiles also, who is to say we can nuke NK missile sites or just target them like we did with the bunkers in Iraq taking them out and/or making them blow u on NK itself

North Korea and the world always forget the South Korean military. The ROK Armed Forces is one of the largest and most powerful standing armed forces in the world with a reported personnel strength of 3,600,000 in 2022 (500,000 active and 3,100,000 reserve). The army consists of 365,000 troops, approximately 2,200 tanks, 3,100 armored fighting vehicles, 5,600 artillery pieces, 60 guided missile systems, and 620 helicopters as of 2022. The ROK Air Force consists mainly of F-16’s, F-15’s and F-35’s. They have a large number of command and control aircraft along with a lot of support and specialty aircraft. The ROK Navy has about 70,000 regular personnel including 29,000 Republic of Korea Marines. There are about 140 commissioned ships in the ROK Navy. The naval aviation force consists of about 70 fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft. The ROK Marine Corps has about 300 tracked vehicles including assault amphibious vehicles. With numbers like this, the ROK may not need the U.S. to defeat North Korea.

When it comes to Soviet/Russian tanks, the number indicates the year it was put into service. So the T-34 was put in service in 1934, pre WW2. So their newest Russian tank, T-72, is fifty years old and is using outdated technology.

North Koreas population is just over 26 million, this puts nearly 5% of the entire population in uniform. If the USA did the same, that would be more than 16 million soldiers. It is all about diet. South Koreans are not much different than Americans now, some small guys, some big guys, mostly average guys. North Koreans have been starving since the 50s. They are virtually all little or VERY little guys. Even the special forces guys are small as an entire childhood, of deprivation it is too late to fix. The NK have something like 300 AN-2 Colts that can carry about 20 people. They park them in open muddy fields, and they have been there for decades, so how many can get off the ground is a real debate. I remember when I was stationed in Korea, that a mini sub got beached in South Korea, the commandos killed the crew and infiltrated into South Korea. about half of the 20 or so commandos were killed or captured in the first 2 weeks. Never heard what happened to the rest. Most of North Koreas air force was state of the art in the Vietnam war (Note north Korea did not fight in it). But nothing new has really been added since the '80s. that's 40 years now... In most command post exercises, the North Korean Air Force and Navy is gone by the 4th day or so.

@David-ns4ym Is one Navy SEAL more capable in the battle space than an army recruit, who just arrived at their first duty station after basic and AIT or a taliban fighter fresh off the poppy farm. True operators are equal to some number more than one enemy combatant, and as you go up the operator ladder up to and beyond DEVGRU, aka black ops or CIA's SOD, that number increases. How much depends on a lot of factors, but there is a multiplication of force that can be brought to bear on the enemy. Command and Intelligence take this factor or multiplier into account when planning operations.

North Korea launching a preemptive strike isn't the real problem. If they launch nuclear weapons, then several countries will likely counter attack. The problem is, if a war with North Korea does happen, and they start losing, which they likely will, then they will be more likely to launch nuclear weapons, since they have nothing to lose at that point.

South Korea yes I’m sure we would as they are an important Ally in the region, but especially for Japan. The surrender and treaty Japan signed to end WW2 stipulates that the U.S is the power responsible for their defense. Really a good deal for Japan if you think about it.

No, they've never been tested in real world military action. N-Korean military is kind of a joke. From 2018: The massive $10.8 billion garrison in Pyeongtaek-America’s largest overseas military base-is in the final stage of a more than decade-long expansion project. About 45 miles south of the joint command’s former headquarters in metropolitan Seoul, it is expected to house nearly 45,000 troops, contractors, and family members by 2022, following the largest peacetime relocation program in the Department of Defense’s history. The camp also marks the virtual end of the U.S. military’s 70-year presence in the South Korean capital-something that Washington and Seoul have been discussing since 1987. It is a “significant investment in the long-term presence of U.S. Forces in Korea,” Gen. Brooks told a mostly military audience at the headquarters opening, and “living proof of the American commitment to the alliance.”

Was in the U.S. Army for a while in my opinion the majority of the N. Korean military is extremely incompetent I don’t have any idea idea about their special forces but with such a poor main standing military with a very poor logistics network behind it I have doubts about the quality of their capabilities as well. Still treat them like any other military they can put up a fight and can probably extend a conflict with the right tactics but without allies the north would be fighting a massive uphill battle before any fighting actually starts.

@@AnimeKid89 ehh not really. That war burn out really happened in Vietnam which was the biggest reason we "lost" that. It was a political loss, not so much a military one. Politicians and the public lost their appetite for war. That wasn't the 1st time either. The US took a more isolationist stance between WW1 and WW2 where we tended to keep to ourselves more and avoided getting involved. Early WW2 shows this.

It doesn't hurt that most of the next generation are proficient in Firearms before they're 20. Something people don't understand about the US military is that American soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines don't die easily. The US has NEVER lost the body count # to anyone. The bloodiest American fight in recent memory was the 2nd battle of Fallujah in which 95 Americans were killed in a 6-week battle. 95 KIA is like 15 minutes for the Russians in Ukraine. In Vietnam the US lost 58,000 against 3 MILLION Vietnamese, LOL, and people say we "lost" that war. Killing them was so easy the US literally got bored and went home. So comparing the size of each force doesn't really matter when you fail to account for mortality and attrition.

"1 US military personnel > 10 NK soldier" I don't know about that. I think I'd take ten guys with AK's (even locally produced AK variants) over one dude with an M4/mk18 whatever (edit: IF they have the will to fight to the death. Desert Storm showed what happens if the national leadership fails to correspond with the will of the people/average soldier). The difference is when you get up to the squad level, tactics and training, usage of light machine guns and grenade launchers... then we can also start talking about artillery, air power, naval assets...
