US Navy Veteran, Soviet Era. I think the Russians were testing US response times and weapons used. Human lives mean very little to Russia. Example: Ukraine.

Realize that because that drone was following them, the US had the 3 hours it takes to prep, load, fuel a B-52, get airborne and to bombing altitude, before it was needed, if it would even be needed. Hell, that was a "just in case".

This awful video celebrates a war crime. The US military presence in Syria is a violation of their sovereignty as spelled out clearly in the UN Charter (Article 2). The democratically elected president of Syria *repeatedly* told US forces to leave his country. They refused. The US military invasion of Syria is just as illegal as the Russian military invasion of Ukraine. Period. There's nothing funny or humorous about it. This video glosses over this knowing that 99% of its viewers aren't knowledgeable about (or interested in) international law and only want to hear a story about how the superior American forces humiliated the Ruskies. I'm recommending the *excellent* video (below) that explains this clearly and simply. I strongly encourage you to watch it, NickJ. Dude who fired first, the US or the mercenaries and Syrian rebels? Even after they started shelling the oil field the US called the Russian HQ, they lied about their involvement and the US told 'em exactly what was going to happen. They had an opportunity to get out of there and chose not to take it. How in fuck's name is successfully DEFENDING an oil field even remotely comparable to one country invading another sovereign nation?
