Captain's Command area is the Bridge (wheelhouse). When he's not there, the OOD (Officer Of the Day/Deck/On Duty) has Command.

The USS constitution is still up an running and she first set sail(literally) in 1797. 227 years puts a 90 year life expectancy to shame. And she in all likelihood will still be in service then. Its by most standards a museum ship but still sets sail and has a navy crew.

US had two WW2 Battleships active in Desert Storm. USS Enterprise was launched in 1960 and inactivation was complete in 2018. 58 years. New ones being modular to make upgrades easier and having planned for double the power output than what it uses now, they planned on 100 years. That sounded too crazy, so they dropped it back to 90.

the osprey can tilt its blades, it can take off like a helicopter then tilt its blades forward to fly like a plane and back again for landing.

Seeing this a few times, but I'm still in awe about the size and capabilities these Carrier's have.

@@nickjreacts Definately do. Its a great channel and I'll watch. It's friendly to reactors as well. In fact if you want to come to the U.S. and have a great gun shooting experience, you should reach out to him personally.

Since we got our new carriers, we will most likely sell a couple of our old Nimitz carriers to y'all in Britain. Old to us but new to y'all. And still a great carrier.
@JPMadden
@JPMadden 3 месяца назад
Probably not. It wouldn't surprise me if the costs for modernizing a 50-year-old nuclear-powered aircraft carrier to operate beyond its intended service life would be greater than what the Royal Navy spent on one of their "Queen Elizabeth"-class conventionally power carriers currently in service.
@jonathonfrazier6622

@@JPMadden its the standard procedure. We always sell a couple of our retired carriers to Britain. They last a long time.
@JPMadden
@JPMadden 3 месяца назад
@@jonathonfrazier6622 It is not standard procedure. As far as I can tell, the U.S. has never given/sold an old fleet carrier to any nation. If you compare the lists of U.S. Navy and Royal Navy fleet carriers, you will find no overlap. Even the light carriers from WW2 were scrapped after their service in the U.S. Navy. Perhaps some of the more than 100 small escort carriers from WW2 saw service elsewhere.

@@jonathonfrazier6622 Britain has 2 carriers and they did not come from the US. Didn't know anyone is able to make the decision to give away military property. Yeah. "we." will donate. 😅😅

Not seen this video before, that is quite the carrier. I think in this crazy, mixed up, getting scarier by the day world we live in, it does make me feel safer. Thank you as always for the video and commentary

And China has built a lookalike shell to use for target practice.
@Cody38Super
@Cody38Super 3 месяца назад
Did they build shells for the Carrier Strike Group, did they build shells for the Submarines, did they build shells for all Surface to Air Missiles that will intercept any type of ordinance they fire at it?? No they didn't, because China is still 40 years away from being on our level, if at all. Russia is even further and losing ground daily. China is only good at stealing our ideas and technology, then building low quality fake "look alike" versions of our Weapon Systems. We can always reach their Navy and Mainland...they can't reach our Navy or Mainland. China = Green Water Navy ONLY. America = Blue Water Navy....huuuuge difference! And remember...we have 20 Carriers total, 11 Super Carriers + 9 Amphibious Carriers with 9 full Carrier Strike Groups!
