The girls from Liverpool said it best. The reason raves are coming back is because clubs now are all stuck up, people get too drunk and rowdy and no one lets them selves go, they stand awkwardly and take Snapchat's. Raves are actually fun, like clubs should be.

I'm a 55 year old farmer from Australia and this resonates with me in such a positive way. Youth having fun. The war on drugs is barbaric and has caused much harm but it has led to cool cultures like underground raves. Go kids.

I'm 37 now and I haven't been to a proper underground rave since 2004, but those nights still remain my most wonderful and special memories. Two raves in particular really stand out "first two nights I tried MDMA and back when it was pure in 1999" The tracks that were played still stir up emotions I don't get from nothing else. It was all about love and feeling connected to everyone. The atmosphere was perfect, nobody took too much, everyone looked out for reach other, making sure you didn't get too hot or drink too much water, just perfect all around. I wouldn't trade those nights for anything!

Raving in london mid late 90s was .... a dream. Very little incidents, organisers were lovely , ravers looked after each other and we never felt unsafe. Such fun times, people genuinely wanted to dance and have fun, just and only that.

It’s amazing how history repeats itself. The same thing happened in Sacramento at the turn of the century until promoters and cities realized how much money was involved and then you saw the big venues open up in San Fran and surrounding areas to capitalize and soon after the scene died. I imagine now it’s back underground. This all takes me back. I applaud the kids for taking it into their own hands and giving police a run for their money;)

VICE has done a fair job of capturing many different cultural phenomena, sometimes with impressive results. However, the magic and feeling of a rave is something that's impossible to put to words or capture on film, and I think this video only serves to underscore that point. The best parties will never be filmed, and it's for the best.

as a 16-year-old coming from a really conservative family that judges people like this, I find this so cool & exciting, I personally don't see anything wrong with it, they're just having some fun and now I wanna go to one of these.

Vice needs to do a follow up on this and these folks to see if they are still doing the parties or if they have resorted proper venues. Also to see how if the law is cracking down harder or lightening up. I hope the law is easing up because these kids aren't fighting or killing each other its all about love and love for the music. I felt a huge sense of nostalgia watching this. I used to live in East and went to lots of raves in the early 00's. It was a hidden, underground, magical world full of great music, love and euphoria. Ive never experienced anything like it since. I will forever cherish those memories it was a brillant time in my life. A great documentary which took me back to the good old days.

30 Years ago in America, and NYC we called them outlaws. They were held in warehouses, under bridges and in fields. 90% of the time the cops broke our balls. The Music was Hardcore, Hard Techno and Acid Trance. This is a Global Culture, it will never end!

There's a possibility that it HAS to be illegal for people to enjoy it--that the kind of partying it is involves not just "fun" (doing drugs and being very physically attractive) but the defiance of it is a big part of what makes it thrilling for the people that are into it. So, keeping it illegal keeps it happening, and legalizing it makes it stop for the most part. Remember, it's not the parties themselves that are illegal, it's selling booze without a license, and selling illegal drugs.

Meanwhile in Africa...they have the whole wilderness to throw a rave but no speakers and shit...

Sober raver here. I enjoy all sorts of music. Why are raves tracked down when most hard rock metal concerts are full of drugs but supported by the law? Party and be safe. Focus on being safe.

I started raving in NY in 1996 at 15 years old, and started DJing soon after. Spent tons of time raving in Toronto in the late 90's - around 2010. Definitely some of the most special times I've ever had in my life happened either in front of or behind the DJ equipment. Got to experience WMC and Ultra Music Festival several times before it was the "cool thing to do" and basically a piece of 💩 mainstream money grab. Always wanted to spend some time in the UK scene, unfortunately it didn't happen. An underground rave in the UK has always been at the top of my bucket list, whether it's DJing it or just going as another raver. They definitely have always had something special going on over there when it comes to dance music. Hopefully they keep it going so future generations can experience everything it has to offer.

I'm so pleased that these kids can experience what I and many others experienced in the late 80's & 90's, and that they're keeping this special scene alive.

Break-in's were the norm for the rave scene in the 90's. I participated in quite a few of them. It's very cool to see it return and very cool to see a new generation of kids digging it.

Is great to see party kids still in the scene....I'm fkn old now, 42, but was a part of the scene from '94-'03 here in the States....it was fucking awesome but he had to deal with the same issues of cops not understanding the culture.....we did have massive festivals, my favorite was in the DC Armory.... shit was awesome....driving up and down the East Coast, city to city, massive warehouse parties, after parties, meeting people that you didn't know but would give you the shirt off their back, spot in their bed for the night, ........the good ole days 🙃......getting old sucks, happens to the best of us, just happy to see another generation pushing the same ideals we had......

That was wild in the end, that they actually made it into the warehouse, after all. Whoa, who knew there'd be already so many ppl in there? There certainly wasn't any way to tell from the outside that there was a full-blown rave going down in there.

As an American that has gotten older but been to many legal and thrown together rave’s, even met a few famous DJ’ s (AK1200 twice working one of the events. DJ baby Ann aka the queen of bass (Miami Florida). DJ Casey Passed away in a 4wheeler wreck. Dj Fixx of New York.) It’s a dream of mine to visit the UK and go to one of these due to the fact that “electro/electronic/D&B” or whatever you want to call it was born there. Thanks VICE for this video! Especially on the grounds that’s it’s my most wanted place to visit in the world! 🍻🏴‍☠️

I'm 17 and I've been to a few raves like this but in Melbourne Australia. One in the city bush area and one in the middle of nowhere in an abandoned shed. Police would come shut it down all the time or chat about what was going on. in the video when they said "When you get a message of the location at 10pm, you get a feeling of excitement", that's so true. I think the best part is getting to the rave bc you don't know where it is. I loved going to the few I went to but bad stuff would happen. a girl got stabbed that I went to a different rave with. I think the girl that stabbed her thought she was someone else or was on drugs, maybe both or she said something to her. all sorts has happened, good and bad.

I was 15 when the rave culture hit the first time round.....ahhh the happy years that followed. Then the scene got commercialised but the tunes were amazing in the clubs, which were still good back then. It made me happy on this vid to see young free spirits going out into nature, round a fire, doing whatever recreational ;);) and dancing in the tent. No bother.... how youth should be. Now older and wiser...I feel that theres something very shamanic about rave culture. We had our own summers of love in the 90s and 00s and this cynical world needs it again....rave on peeps 🙌✌😷

I had the pleasure of attending a rave like this, on a farm in North Devon, in 2007. I was 33yrs old at the time...everyone else 18yrs...lol. What an awesome time!!

British people have the livest raves I wanna go to one so bad

I was in the Portland, Oregon rave scene starting in 2000 to like 2006. It was some of the best experiences of my life. It opened my mind and turned me into a better person.

I've been to many raves and these have been amoungst the best experiences in life ,, I used to have the police bang my door most weekends because I listened to music on a 30w stereo that was set to its volume by a environmental health officer, the police never read the documents that I had , so I used to set a few chairs by the front door with a few battered copies of mixmag and DJ magazine,,, one police man actually asked me "why don't you go out to a rave ?"I said with a lump in my throat,,,"cos you've shut them all down" I never got into trouble T the hundreds of raves I went to with ravers but I got into fights every time I went to the town centre,, the gentrification of the world has always sought to crush culture worldwide

i used too go following the raves in my younger days .. in fields and hidden areas .. the chase was exiting and fun .. the comrade spirit was amazing met most of the best people in my life when attending .. its a shame that this country sees them as such a bad thing .. if they just allowed it then it would be much better and safer .. cos dont get me wrong it did get risky and there was many times that it sketched me out or was harmful .. but most of the time it was because the police were causing problems and instigating the troubles .. when they were left alone it was good .. it was great infact .. i miss going too them .. tbh ..
