You are very welcome. I am sure you will enjoy your cruise as the first cruise is always special. Sorry that it will be in sad circumstances for you though. There are opportunities on board for you to meet up with other solo passengers, they have coffee meet ups at various times and if you want you can be placed on a table in the restaurant with all solo passengers, but that only works if you chose fixed dining. Thanks Kev, yes it was a fab cruise as they always are 🙂. I think Arvia could be too big for us, but never say never, we thought Britannia would be too big too but ended up going on her six times. Are you getting a direct flight from Glasgow to Barbados in November? I think for you younger ones you will love Arvia 😀👍

@@Scottylass15 I never realized Arvia was as big as it is until i seen a Facebook post with a picture of them side by side, its massive compared to Britannia, least it will be easier to walk off all the good food lol. No we are flying from Manchester this time but hope to move it to Glasgow if there's a cancellation, we managed to do that last year year so fingers crossed, Thanks.

@@kevcampbell3365 Good Luck in getting a cancellation to fly from Glasgow Kev, it makes all the difference especially on the return journey after the overnight flight, we only did it once back in 2009 and we stayed overnight in Manchester before driving up the road. Enjoy yourselves on Arvia I am sure you will love her, may take you 10-15 minutes to get to the gangway but that’s alright for you young yins. 🙂👍

Aah thank you so much Grumble Woof, you made me smile, in my dreams P&O won’t even send me the annual gift of a calendar that I am due for my loyalty tier, have to beg for it every year, last year I didn’t even bother. Loyalty means nothing to them even although I have cruised almost 400 nights with them, it’s the direct flights from Glasgow that gets our custom 😀👍

You will find a big difference by travelling direct from Scotland to Barbados, I know what you mean as we have also flown via London then Miami way back in the 90’s and it was the pits waiting in queues to go through immigration. When you fly with P&O to Barbados the luggage is bonded so when you check it in at the airport in Scotland next time you see it is outside your cabin door on the ship. You don’t even go through Barbados airport on arrival, you are taken straight from tarmac in buses directly to the ship, where you check in at the huge shed at the port. We have sailed with Celebrity too but not for many years, and at the time I’d say they were a cut above P&O but for convenience you cannot whack the P&O experience in getting to the ship. I’d recommend booking Premium on the flight, it is over a £1000 extra but worth every penny. It is usually Dreamliners they use and in economy the seating configuration is 3-3-3 in Premium it is 2-3-2 we find an 8 hr flight is too long not to have a bit of comfort 🙂, Please do not hesitate to ask any questions and I will help if I can, Cheers.

@Mary G. Kerr thanks for the reply! Celebrity was really good but had its faults as well. The direct flights and the fact its 14 nights is a massive bonus. Can't seem to get 14 nights with celebrity or royal caribbean, only 7 or 10 nights.

@@gregorabbott8542 Yes the two weeks is very good, only thing about P&O is they do not change their itineraries much, Britannia has been doing same itinerary for years now, but we find no matter how many times we visit a port there are plenty of places to explore on the islands, no two cruises whether same ports or not are the same for us 🙂. Best part is being away to guaranteed heat during our winter is a big plus.

@Scottylass15 hi, another quick question, did you have the drinks package and was it worth it? I assume you would still need to pay a little extra for some cocktails and stuff?

@@gregorabbott8542 No we never have the drinks package Gregor, the drinks are reasonably priced, but we are not big drinkers, we also don’t drink coffee. You can find drinks menus on Britannia if you Google them and try and work out what you would drink in a day and see if it adds up to £40 pp per day, both people in cabin have to buy the package.

Thank you. The weather was great as always, if there is any rain it usually a short shower, they call it liquid sunshine, and temperature ranges from high twenties to low thirties. I have been in every month Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb and always had fab weather.

Hello darling my first cruise was arranged by a relative and she arranged for us to pay over 2years on a monthly pay scheme. It was the best. It was so new and although my parents are from the Caribbean I felt blessed to see so many places in so short a time. And there is always a new experience. Been back again and will again next year. Again through some good budgeting. You can do it hon with god's grace.

I think we may have passed you a couple of times as we were on D deck too. 🙂👍

@@soriyyakhan1206 Yes it was, even although we have been doing Caribbean cruises since 1997 every one is different even going to the same islands, it’s so nice to get away to lovely sun and heat during our winter. 🙂

I guess it depends on how much you drink. The drinks prices on board are not too high. Both adults in cabin need to purchase the package and I think it is £39.95 per person per day. All the information about it is on the P&O website. We certainly would not consider getting it, however if you have a lot of On Board Credit included using it to pay for the DP is a good way to use it up.

None - but you do need to fill in the Barbados Immigration Form within 72 hours of you embarking the ship which P&O will give you a link to on your Cruise Personaliser. Alternatively you can fill it in on the Barbados Entry Requirements website.
