Britax advocate with click and go has been very good to us, but I frequently remove and wash all of the cushions and clean underneath. Amazing how quickly it gets dirty. Step by step cushion removal and reinstall.
Most thorough video. Thank you SO MUCH. The thought of putting the fabric back was so intimidating that my car seat sat on my floor for an entire 48 hours 😂
Thank you for this! I took mine apart to clean after car sickness in a trip. The Britax video was so awful. Your video saved me as I was losing my mind replaying theirs over and over!
This helped me solve an altogether different problem! That rear plate with the hooks, the part to which the tops of the harness straps attach, had been pulled up and twisted, so the straps wouldn't budge. Seeing how things were supposed to work was a great help. Thanks very much for your video, so clearly explained and detailed.
THANK YOUUUUU! After getting this carseat. I decided to give it a good wipe down and completely spaced that it would have to be put back together again. I was stumped on how to! You explained it all super well which was SUPER helpful even the little details weren't left unexplained! Again, thank you!
Still helping mamas and daddies in 2022… I would have taken x3 as long without you and you know we don’t have that kind of energy haha thank you so much
Thank you so much -- after removing the shoulder straps completely I was convinced that I had messed up my carseat because I couldn't figure out how to get them back in! I really appreciate your video tutorial!
Thank you for such a detailed tutorial! It helped me tremondously! I don't know how I got the cushions off to clean them, but I was sooo happy to see your video. Saved me hours of frustration! God bless!
Glad it helped. That's happened to me more than once. Now i've gotten in the habit of setting up my gopro to film taking stuff apart so i know how it goes back together. Nothing worse than having "extra parts" when done reassembling! Thanks for the kind words!
I saw a notification and read your comment and guessed which video of mine you were referring to before looking to see if I was correct. For some reason this particular video is appreciated the most if all the vids I have done. (And it was on a whim). Thanks for commenting and glad it helped.
Thank you! Lifesaving! I thought disassembling the padding was easy...then I attempted to put it back together after washing. Aye ye ye! It’s amazing how disgusting these carseats get under the padding!
Thank you thank you thank you so much for posting this video!! I was super intimidated to take the padding off to wash my car seats. I also have twins and after two years of grime I was considering buying new car seats. This saved me $$ and made the process so simple. Thank you!
I’ve learned so much from other people on You Tube who are experts on stuff- whether it’s car repair, plumbing, heating etc that I figured when I know how to do something the least I can do is post it so someone else can see how it’s done. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Gotta run, my twins are 7 and constantly fighting with each other now! Arrgh
Thanks very much. I was so excited to make this. I was going to wash everything and just got the GoPro head strap, and then after all the recording and editing I got.......zero comments. Until now. YOU are the Saint! Thanks for taking the time to comment and I’m glad it helped.
Thank you so much!!! For some reason mine is missing the plastic that goes on the sides of the head...and it comes woth a punk padding that i tucked in under the seat
Hi Sam! this has to be the most helpful video on the Britax,Thank you. I was able to disassemble all the soft parts but during the process, pulled the harness adjuster strap after removing the shoulder straps causing the harness yoke to go inside the seat assembly. Any advise on how to retrieve that would be invaluable. Thanks. Sorry for the bother.
No bother. My kids are 9 now so I haven’t used those in years, but I think I know what you are talking about. Push and hold in the release button with one hand, and with the other reach behind or behind and under where the straps are that go over the child’s shoulders and pull while holding the button. It will pull the yoke out instead of tightening down the shoulder straps if that makes sense. If you already took off the shoulder straps, I would push and hold the release button while trying to fish out the yoke with a coat hanger or screw driver. There may be a way to get to it from under the seat too.
I was gifted this car seat with no Manuel, at the very beginning of the video you show the open piece that you lift up. How do you lift it and open it? Thank you!
you can find the manual online here us.britax.com/shop/retired/britax-advocate-clicktight-convertible-car-seat scroll down to the bottom and download the manual. It's on page 27 if you can't copy and paste it, to open it you push down on the top of the metal circle (the size of a silver dollar. may say Britax or advocate) within the grey plastic , and when the back lifts up you grab it and turn it 1/4 turn clockwise.
So...has anyone discovered if you can remove the adjuster strap? I need to wash it but I think I'm just going to have to pull it out all the way and soak it in something to remove odor.
@@K-aoss okay, good. Glad you figured it out. Just wasn't sure what part of the seat u were talking about. My kids are 8 already and those seats have been sitting unused in my basement for years now
What part are you referring to? The clips slide up and down the belts. Just tighten and slide the clip to the child's chest area. Watch from about 10:45 Attach the bottom pieces together. Snap them in and pull tight. The top plastic pieces snap together and as a unit or separately can slide along the belt. You have to pull hard. Maybe easier before your child is in the seat
