The member of staff at 0:38 checked my family and I in last year after a week long NY 'break'. This was still during COVID times and we were a bit stressed (with 3 kids) making sure we had all the paperwork in order as restrictions had changed while we were in NY. She was extremely friendly, helpful but more importantly knowledgeable about the current restrictions (as was all the BA Team) and as a family we will be forever greatful to her. BA do have some 'negatives' but I have always found the Team fantastic! Good bye T7 ... Looking forward to T8!
I remember feeling like this when US Airways gave up Terminal C at LGA to Delta and we began the slow spiral out. It can be bittersweet as you become attached to the place you’ve called work, but slowly becomes a second home with people you grow older and wiser with. Hats off to British Airways for this sendoff to Terminal 7 at JFK.
Lucky enough to fly in/out of the JFK BA T7 several times using the concorde room. (I first saw the BA T7 in the film called 'three men and a baby', and the guys headed to the airport and ran through the terminal to stop Mum and Baby Mary going to London)...ahhh the memories!
I remember my first trip to jfk and going to this terminal brings me so much nostalgia when I went back for the final time thank you so much ba and obviously terminal 7 so long brother
I took many flights from there United Airlines to Los Angeles in 1996, Cathay Pacific to Hong Kong and Vancouver, but never got a chance to fly using British Airways, although I do always remember this terminal from the movie 3 Men and A Baby. ❤
So happy to have been able to work at T7, for just a short while in 1994. Worked check in, boarding, the PA desk, and my favourite, the Concorde Lounge!
@@roychin9419 T6 will not be solely for JetBlue. Only a few gates will be theirs. It’s a joint venture and many gates will actually be for wide bodies.
T7 was originally supposed to close December 1, 2022 but the demolition has been postponed to 2025 and most recently to 2026. Yes it will be demolished to make room for the new T6.
Seems they said farewell to getting a pre existing flight out of JFK and farewell to picking a phone up yesterday. Pre booked flights canceled while they continue to sell return tickets leaving folk stranded at JFK?. What sort of carrier is that? It seemed flights were available when one tried to bypass the phone lines that did not seem happy to pick up a phone, almost instant pickup rather than that irritating thing about how important the call was to them and leave one hanging on the line. Very rude imo.
To make room for the new T6 as part of JFK modernization project. Also. The demolition of T7 has been postponed til somewhere in 2026. It will remain til then. This is the 3rd or 4th the demolition has been postponed.
@@duncanconduit It is operated by BA (or it was), but it isn’t an overseas airline terminal because it hosts Alaska Airlines, which only operates domestic flights from T7. British Airways no longer wants to operate a terminal at JFK. It’s a major loss for them.
The terminal is over 50 years old. It’s dark, cramped and outdated. BA is separated from its main OneWorld partner American. Try flying out of it and you’ll immediately know.
@@charlesjay8818 Yeah, American just renovated T8, adding 5 new gates for widebodies and 70,000sf of space. Iberia is moving there from T7 too. Cathay, Qatar, and Finnair already fly from there. JAL will be moving to T8 from T1. T1 will also be torn down and rebuilt.
british airways is good airline but just need to sort out baggage handling in the UK. took us 2 weeks to get our suitcases back on a 3 week trip. USA staff were really nice and helpful though
One of the most unethical and overrated airline I have ever dealt with. British Airways lost a dog for over 60 hours, claimed “proper care” was provided, and offered flight points. Not only are they impractical, but British Airways makes unauthorized charges on customer cards. Look at their Yelp page if you want to see honest reviews. Their customer service is rude and disrespectful. They offer to “help” but in the end chooses money over morality. 0/10
